Both Jesus and Moses came to set the captive free through a process of repentance and redemption, in Spirit and Truth.
Both required some form of thinking differently and washing up, word and deed. Both required some form of thinking differently and washing up.
Jesus preached and appointed a form of self government that did not exercise authority[1] of rulers over the masses, where men become things,[2]merchandise. Jesus did not come to subjugate but to serve[3] the needs of society in a hierarchy of service through the perfect law of liberty. Participation in faith of the practice of Pure Religion in the pursuit of The Way of righteousness preached by Christ sets the captive free by grace and makes the unwashed clean again when done by faith.

Leviticus 7:19-21 we see that there are warning that flesh should not touch an unclean(טָמֵא֙ tame)[4] thing but also no unclean(טָהוֹר TetHeyVavReish[5] individual should eat of this offering, also explained in Leviticus 7.
There are two words reflecting the meaning of unclean tame (טָמֵא)** [4] and (טָהוֹר) tahor[5].
The first is Tame טָמֵא (Strong’s 02931 adj. and the verb 02930) as substantive describes persons, animals, objects, places, or times rendered “unclean” in relation to the holiness of God. The term appears approximately eighty-eight times, concentrated in Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and the Prophets. It is never a comment on inherent worth but on fitness to approach or serve (Leviticus 10:10). The second is the adjective טָהוֹר (tahor) describes that which is Clean and entirely free from defilement, whether ceremonial, physical, moral, or spiritual. It occurs about ninety-three times across the Hebrew Scriptures, forming one of the major vocabulary pillars for the themes of holiness, separation, and wholehearted devotion to the LORD. The bible talks about different types of tables where the daily ministration may be distributed. Those who eat at one should not eat at the other with a few exceptions.

Unclean

The Hebrew word translated as "unclean" appears more than 200 times as either the adjective unclean[4]** or as a verb[6] which is translated as unclean but also as forms of defile and pollute. As a noun[7] we see the term uncleanness which is also translated filthiness.

We are often told that the "Mosaic Law spoke of something as “unclean” if it was unfit to use in worship to God." To many something was “clean” or “unclean” as a "ceremonial designation governing the ritual of corporate worship". The scriptures are not about the rituals and ceremonies of the modern corporate churches or synagogues posing as if they are worship.

The term unclean as it is used in the biblical text is actually about what is morally ethical and not ethical, what is righteous and unrighteous.

There are certain animals that were considered unclean and therefore not to be used in sacrifices according to Leviticus 5:2 but this was for health reasons since those sacrifices were part of a welfare distribution social safety net based on charity rather than welfare systems of most city-states which were considered a snare and a trap.[8]

Twisting the good

This Hebrew word for unclean or defiled is commonly spelled TetMemAlef (טָמֵא)‎ tame’:

This twisting of what should be a good thing to what is evil will draw man or flows him away from the righteous relationship of God and man. In the process to "become unclean, become impure" mankind twists and defiles the part of himself that was made in the image of God. This process occurs in many ways and forms, including "by idolatry".[9]

The people may not see the truth of this twisting of Sound doctrine into false religion which creeps and slithers like the serpent in the garden into our minds and hearts tempting the people to call the wages of unrighteousness, righteousness. There are several Hebrew words for hide or keep secret.[10]

One of the words for to hide or to conceal is taman[11] which is spelled TetMemNun (טָמַן‎) does mean "to hide" and can be related to the idea of darkness. David talks about their tables which should have been for their welfare but became a share.[12] And then continues about their eyes being darkened which leads to fear and desolation.[13] Paul reminds us of the same darkness that comes to our eyes when we are forced to bow down our backs back into bondage.[14] He makes that same warning right after repeating David's warning about their table which is a snare.[15]

Shechem son of Hamor laid with Dinah the daughter of Leah but he wanted to marry her. Shechem wanted to find grace in the eyes of Jacob.[16] But Jacobs sons spoke deceitfully that they had to be circumcised which they agreed to do desiring to join with them as a people. But the sons used this to attack them and kill all the males of the their city.

Jacob told Simeon and Levi, "Ye have troubled me to make me to stink" attack us and destroy us.[17] So what did he do to fix the situation?

Jacob was told to build an altar in Bethel and put away their strange gods that he discovered when he fled Esau.[18] And in order to "be clean" Jacob hid[11] them under[19] the oak[20] which [was] by Shechem[21].

Jacob told "unto his household, and to all that [were] with him to give up these "strange gods" and be a part of this new altar and they need to change their garments and be clean. This is not just about changing your outfit and washing but changing their way just as John the Baptist was changing the ways of the people who followed him. The altar he built would be like that of Abraham and Moses and for the same purposes.

Jacob had feared because they were "few in number" but now he was going to strengthen the social bonds of his people and those who would be with him like Abraham did before Sodom was invaded. He called the place‘El Beyth-’El (אֵל בֵּית־אֵל).‎

And the we see what Jacob was given was supposedly "hid them under the oak which [was] by Shechem." That seems strange and does not sound like anything that Abraham, Moses, nor Christ would do. It seems counter intuitive and counter productive.

The same “oak” of Shechem seems to be testified against in the worship of strange gods which we may see in Joshua 24:26; cf. Joshua 24:2; Joshua 24:14; Joshua 24:23. If altars are a part of the social welfare of the people in the practice of Pure Religion then hoaw does burying the offering do any thing good?

Was Jacob burying this treasure of silver that had been taken from the people and hiding it under the ground or under an oak tree? And how did this stop people from destroying him?

The word for "oak" is ‘allah AlefLamedHey (אַלָּה‎)[20] and is said to be from אַיִל‎ ‘ayil[22] which is translated Ram over 150 times but oak only once.

There are lots of different words spelled with the same AlefLamedHey (אַלָּה‎) which we see for an oak tree in Genesis 35 but mean something quite different. Just a few are:

  • The Hebrew noun for both the small "g" god and capital "G" God which is spelled AlefLamedHey (אַלָּה‎)[23].
  • The Hebrew verb meaning to swear[24] and the Hebrew noun oath[25] are also both spelled AlefLamedHey (אַלָּה‎).

The word Shechem[21] can be a place or a name but as a noun it can mean a shoulder or a back and the word portion and consent.[26] and as a verb to rise or start early.[27]

Since the word "under" which is TavChetTav (תַּחַת‎)[19] can actually mean "instead of" and the term translated "oak" can mean an "oath". Did these altars receive these contributions instead of the oath of consent common in the cities round about them?

The same word in the Hebrew language for city is first defined as "excitement, anguish (of terror)" and we can see in verse 5[28] as Jacob and his people journeyed they were a "terror" (חִתָּה)[29] "to the cities"[30]. We see the word "cities" in this original text appearing as heārîm (הֶֽעָרִים֙) and the word "terror" written as ḥittaṯ (חִתַּ֣ת).

If Jacob was setting up an altar system of social welfare according to the way of the faith of Abraham, the judgement of Moses and the Corban of Christ to take care of the daily ministration of the needy of society like widows and orphans who were cared for by the Pure Religion of the early Church and the church in the wilderness, then the cities "round about" would learn to respect and accept his position as a righteous leader of peace.

Hidden snares

The term appears in David's Psalms concerning hiding a snare and a net.[31]

The swearing of oaths, the covetous practices, and idolatry to eat the dainties served at the tables of Rulers who exercise authority bring men back into bondage and the way of Christ sets captive free.

Unwashed masses

Edmund Burke first wrote of the "great unwashed" masses in regards to the mobs of the French revolution who desired to throw off their rulers with violence.

Those "unwashed masses"[32] are said to be "The collective group ("mass") of people who are considered by someone to be somehow uneducated, uninformed, or in some other way unqualified for inclusion in the speaker's elite circles."

There are those who imagine themselves to be elite in every generation or nation, who desire power over their neighbor or fellowman and are greedy for gain.

What really makes the masses unwashed or unclean is their appetite for the dainties of rulers. Those rulers can seldom seize power unless the people are weakened where they fail to love God and His charitable nature and love their neighbor as themselves.

Washed masses

John the Baptist preached the simple solution for the salvation of the "great unwashed" masses of his day. But unfortunately the modern Church and its followers have returned to the same mire. In the darkness of their own choices they have been suffering from the psychosis and strong delusion of the church of Constantine for centuries.

To the early Christians the "unwashed" would be all the people who have not received the "baptism of repentance"[33] which was a part of the process of seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness and rejection of the wages of unrighteousness provided through the corban of Herod and the pharisees. That baptism got the people cast out where they needed to institute a daily ministration of charity which leads to the remission of sins.


Clean ethics

We see the term akathartos[34] in the Greek is also translated unclean or foul in the New Testament but akathartos is almost always inclusive of a meaning identifying what is moral and immoral in relation to behavior that is good and evil.

Ethics is about what is good and what is evil. The term ethics is often associated with what is called religious. Ethics is "moral principles that govern a person's behavior." While, religious is "relating to or believing in a religion."

The term religion is not found in the Old Testament and its appearance in the New Testament it is mostly negative. As a word its meaning has changed over time. But it is clear that to the early Christians' religion was about how you took care of the needy of society and to be pure Religion that had to be unspotted from the "world". The religion of the world was managed through their temples.

The early Church would not eat at the tables of those public temples, i.e. apply for their free bread, a.k.a. welfare benefits or dainties, because they were provided by men who exercised authority one over the other. Those systems of Social welfare were the covetous practices warned about by Peter and the idolatry condemned by Jesus[35] and Paul.[9] Since Moses and Jesus were not only in agreement the harmony of the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb are harmoniously in tune it should be painfully obvious that all systems of social welfare based on force and compelled offerings of the people by men who exercise authority one over the other,[1] return people to the bondage of Egypt, make men human resources defile mankind, degenerate the masses,[36] and therefore are unclean because they are unethical and immoral.[35]

To take away the choice of your neighbor takes away what God endowed him with.[2]

Food for thought

There were many things that were said to be unclean in the Bible and for more than one reason. There were some restrictions concerning what they could eat and some animals were called unclean. Some of these rules were for health reasons. There were areas where parasites were a terrible problem causing serious health risks. They could eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud. However, of those that chew the cud or that have a split hoof completely divided you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the coney.

In Leviticus 11:27, God forbids Moses and his followers to eat swine “because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud.” Archeologists have discovered that parasites were pandemic in the areas where swine roamed free but especially where they were herded. Just contacting their feces, touching them or the people who raised them could pass these parasites on to the Israelites. So, “Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.”

Moses saw the correlation between the pork eating Canaanites and the health problems suffered within their community. But with Moses there is always room for a deeper meaning and understanding for the benefit of the people within the scope of his statutes, traditions, and judgements.

What does it mean for "a soul [to] touch any unclean[4] thing[37], whether it be a carcase (בְנִבְלַ֨ת bəniḇlaṯ)[38] of an unclean beast[39]" which we see in Leviticus 5?

Leviticus 5: "'Or if a soul touch any unclean[4] thing[37], whether it be a carcase (בְנִבְלַ֨ת)[38] of an unclean beast[39], or a carcase of unclean cattle[40] , or the carcase of unclean creeping things[41], and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty."[42]

Things that are unclean are the things not according to the way of righteousness which seeks to give life more abundant and most of that has to do with that which is unethical and immoral[35] and will degenerate the people if left unchecked by the people.

What about the unclean spirit

Anyone who promotes the idea or ideology that what is clearly unethical and immoral[35] is acceptable as good, ethical or moral would be compatible with or could be identified as an unclean spirit.

Unclean quotes

Ecclesiastes 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

Proverbs 18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

John 14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean <169> spirits <4151> like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul <169> spirit <4151>, and a cage of every unclean <169> and hateful bird.

Modern Christians practice a redefined Religion.[43] Early Christians practiced Pure Religion.[44]
Modern Churches depend on civil administers who call themselves Benefactors but compel contributions to provide legal charity. The Early Church depended on a daily ministration through ministers of Charity operating in a network of tens through love.[45]
Modern Christians depend on men who exercise authority for their welfare entitlements. Early Christians provided another type of social welfare through tables of love, Charity, and hope.
Modern Christians seek Benefits that are provided by the world Christ's kingdom was not of. Early Christians only receive benefits that are unspotted by that world.
Modern Christians eat at the tables of the world and the fathers of the earth with a covetous appetite for their dainties. Early Christians set the table of the Lord with charity and hope loving one another in a networking Kingdom of Love.
Modern Christians think that they are children of God because they say[46] they love Christ. Early Christians were the brethren of Christ because they were doers of the will of the Father.[46]
Modern Christians think that they are forgiven because they say they believe in God and say they love Christ. Early Christians knew Jesus died that they might be forgiven and they are only forgiven when they forgive others.[47]
Modern Christians think they just have to say they believe to obtain Eternal life. Early Christians believed they had to seek to keep the commandments to obtain Eternal life because Jesus said so.
Modern Christians think they worship[48] is about praising God. Early Christians believed they had to worship in Spirit and in Truth[49] by do the will of the Father if we loved him.
Modern Christians think they do not need to do anything like Abraham, Moses and others, but claim they have faith because of what they say they believe. Early Christians knew they had to strive[50] to do the will of the Father if they truly believed.
Modern Christians make men of the earth their Father, despite what Jesus said, by praying to men who exercise authority to obtain benefits at the expense of others through what could be called Public religion. Early Christians Did not call any man on earth their Father, but had their own Private welfare to provide a Daily ministration through charity by Pure Religion, not the Covetous Practices of the public welfare of Rome.
Modern Christians think that Communion of the Father who is in Heaven is eating a small wafer of bread.[51] But they depend on the Fathers of the earth for their daily bread. Early Christians knew that the ritual of the Lord's supper was just a symbol.[52] The real Eucharist was thanksgiving which provided a Daily ministration .
Modern Christians think it is okay to covet benefits provided by men who take from their neighbor by exercise of authority. Early Christians knew that they could not inherit the kingdom if they were covetous.[53]
Modern Christians think the Kingdom of God was postponed, instead of appointed to the Apostles.[54] Early Christians knew the kingdom was at hand.
Modern Christians think they are saved no matter what they do. Early Christians know they must seek the righteousness of God if they are to inherit His kingdom[55]
Modern Christians think they are saved by what they think is true faith. Early Christians know that faith with out works is not real faith, but is dead faith.[56]
Modern Christians sign up for every socialist program from public education and Social Security to Food Stamps and healthcare which are all forms welfare provided by forced offerings of your neighbor despite Christ's warning about the Corban of the Pharisees. Early Christians died rather than sign up for the public welfare programs of the governments of Rome and other countries which brought about the Christian conflict.
Modern Christians take oaths and swear binding themselves to the will of others often to obtain benefits provided at the expense of others.
