Comments
In Proverbs 23 we are advised to put a knife to our throat instead of eating the dainties or for they are deceitful meat of rulers.[1]
There is a common theme that the wise will hear the counsel of wisdom but those who lack understanding will not.
We are told to consent not if sinners entice us to seek the blood of the innocent just like when we were warned not to bite one another lest we be devoured.
Proverbs 1 talks about not consenting to those who secretly lay in wait for the blood of the innocent. They go on to say that people not only bite one another as were are told not to do in Galatians 5:15 be careful not to "swallow them up alive as the grave". This is not done like the Zombies in the movies but like the socialist who "all have one purse".
The table or One purse of the socialist is a snare and a trap. Psalms 69:22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
Romans 11:9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
When Jesus appointed a kingdom[2] to the Apostles He warned them[3] not to be like the "rulers of the Gentiles" who "exercise authority" and are called "benefactors".
This warning that "ye shall not be so" was repeatedly stated throughout the whole Bible, .
John the Baptist talked about meats as benefits[4] provided through charity rather than force like those rulers, princes and king.
This mandate in His government or what can be called the Kingdom of God to provide free bread or meat through charity rather than force is a common theme throughout the Bible and certainly the Gospel of the Kingdom and what was called The Way.
: Modern Christians have gone out of The Way of Christ. They have little or no Daily ministration. They prefer to eat at the table of kings and men who call themselves Benefactors but exercise authority one over the other with great appetite. Instead of living by faith, hope and charity and the perfect law of liberty they choose to do contrary to the teachings of John the Baptist and Jesus and live by forcing their neighbor to contribute to their welfare with Covetous Practices. They desire the One purse of modern Socialism through the welfare of Statism and the sloth of False religion rather than the Pure Religion of the early Church.

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7 ¶ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge[5]: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.[6]

8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

10 ¶ My son, if sinners entice thee[7], consent[8][9] thou not.[10] If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily[11] for the innocent without cause:

12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.[12][13]

20 ¶ Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:[13]

30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Footnotes

  1. This is a metaphor for the welfare that was a snare spoken of in the Bible by David and Paul and the gifts, gratuities and benefits we were warned about by Plutarch who said it would take away our liberty.
  2. Luke 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
  3. Matthew 20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
    Mark 10:42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
    Luke 22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
  4. Luke 3:11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
  5. Lacking Knowledge
    Hosea 4:6-8 “‭6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. ‭7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. ‭8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.”
    Job 21:13-14 “‭13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. ‭14 Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.” Job 21:13-14
    Job 21:22-23 “‭22 Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high. ‭23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.”
    Psalms 14:2-5 “‭2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. ‭3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. ‭4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD. ‭5 There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.” repeated in Psalms 53:5.
    Psalms 119:66-67 “‭66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. ‭67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.”
    Proverbs 1:7-14 “‭7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. ‭8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: ‭9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. ‭10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. ‭11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: ‭12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:... 14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:”
    2 Peter 2:15-22 “‭15 ...forsaken the right way... following the way of Balaam ... who loved the wages of unrighteousness; ‭16 But was rebuked for his iniquity... ‭18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. ‭19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. ‭20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. ‭21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. ‭22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
  6. Care not
    Genesis 19:14 "And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law."
    Psalms 106:25 "But murmured in their tents, [and] hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD."
    Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction... 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:"
    Matthew 24:38 "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come."
    Luke 14:18 "And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused... the master of the house being angry... Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled... none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded... in the day when the Son of man... Remember Lot’s wife."
    1 Timothy 6:9 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

    1 John 2:15 "Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the prideboaster of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
    2 Peter 1:12 "Wherefore I will not be negligent <272|amelo> to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know [them], and be established in the present truth. 13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance;"
    1 Corinthians 12:25 "That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ..."
