Righteousness

We are supposed to be seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. The way of righteousness did not include the wages of unrighteousness[1] or the wantonness of the world which made men merchandise and curse children as a surety for debt. Being an early Christian, a follower of Jesus the Christ, someone who practiced Pure Religion, required that people repent and seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness according to the way the disciples were commanded by Christ.
What made 'America great was that Americans were good'. Americans once took care of all the needy within society through charity alone not the exercise of force by government authority through legal charity and the welfare state. What is bringing America down is a departure from that practice of the welfare of society provided by strong communities of carrying individuals through voluntary charity. That exercise of choice established cohesive bands that connected individuals in strong social networks that could stand against the rise of tyrants.

Righteous

The number of times that we see the word righteous and righteousness in the Bible tells us that it must be important.

The word tsaddek, translated righteousness in the Old Testament alone appears in several forms over 500 times[2] and is also translated lawful, just, justify and justice. It is even translated rights. Since the Bible only mentions religion 5 times and government, law, rights and justice over a thousand times, and tells story after story of oppressive governments, and setting people free from those governments, from Cain to Nimrod and Pharaoh's Egypt, the Bible is hardly limited to the topic of religion.

There is another word translated right and righteous which appears over a hundred times[3] in the Bible and comes from the word רשׁי yashar meaning "to be right, be straight, be level, be upright, be just, be lawful".

Even the words we see translated "equity" like meyshar[4] with an added Hebrew letter Mem suggesting the flow of righteousness and yosher [5] both from yashar and [6] in the Bible are merely forms of righteousness.

So, the topic of what righteousness means may be more important than we may think at first, and certainly more important than our opinion about God. In fact, our opinion about God and religion must coincide with God's opinion of what is righteousness.

Dikaiosune

The Greek word dikaiosune[7] is consistently translated righteousness in the New Testament of the Bible.

We also see dikaios[8] translated righteous 41 times, but just 33 times. It is also translated right.

To understand the word righteousness and unrighteousness[9] and the difference between the two terms, we may need to seek an answer to some other questions first.

150 years before Christ commanded that people be organized in a charitable network to provide that daily ministration of welfare through charity alone. Polybius explained what happens to the people who depart from welfare by charity and who abandon that way of individual choice of making sacrifices out of love for your neighbor: "The masses continue with an appetite for benefits and the habit of receiving them by way of a rule of force and violence. The people, having grown accustomed to feed at the expense of others and to depend for their livelihood on the property of others... institute the rule of violence;" What he was talking about was the dependence upon welfare funded by taxation instead of charity. Polybius continued his warning with what became the prophesying of Rome's "degeneration" from a republic into tyranny, "and now uniting their forces massacre, banish, and plunder, until they degenerate again into perfect savages and find once more a master and monarch."
Americans have long abandoned the "perfect law of liberty" and have become a weak and scattered people unable to unite and stand against the lies of tyrants.
Governments of the world cannot solve this because it is our societal dependence upon government and rejection of responsibilities of individuals working together for the common good that has brought us to this present loss of freedom. We are vulnerable to tyrants today because for generations we have been slothful in the way of righteousness.
America will not be great again unless Americans Repent.

Some Questions

More Questions

To find the answers, we must seek and strive to do what Jesus said the way He said to do it... Including attending to the Weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith which include caring for the needs of our neighbors and the widows and orphans of our society through Pure Religion in matters of health, education, and welfare. We are NOT to provide for the needy of society through the Covetous Practices and the men who call themselves benefactors but who exercise authority one over the other like the socialists do.

The Way of Christ was like neither the way of the world of Rome nor the governments of the gentiles who depend on those fathers of the earth through force, fear and fealty who deliver the people back in bondage again like they were in Egypt. Christ's ministers and true Christians do not depend upon systems of social welfare that force the contributions of the people like the corban of the Pharisees which made the word of God to none effect. Many people have been deceived to go the way of Balaam and the Nicolaitan and out of The Way of Christ and have become workers of iniquity.

The Christian conflict with Rome in the first century Church appointed by Christ was because they would not apply to the fathers of the earth for their free bread but instead relied upon a voluntary network providing a daily ministration to the needy of society through Faith, Hope, and Charity by way of freewill offerings of the people, for the people, and by the people through the perfect law of liberty in Free Assemblies according to the ancient pattern of Tuns or Tens as He commanded.

The modern Christians are in need of repentance.
