Foolishness

Saul had foolishly forced the sacrifice of the people so that he could defend Israel from the Philistines. Because he chose to do this his kingdom would be lost to him. While this was the fulfillment of the 1 Samuel 8 prophecy that rulers given power to take would take and take and take. The same is true of all democracies that have an appetite for benefits.
This marked the curse of all people who covet and through their governments engage in covetous practices, become merchandise, and curse children.
The welfare state is the path of the foolish. It is the "covetous practice" which is a "snare"[1] and Stumblingblock. It is the antithesis of the The Way and turning away from the "doctrine of Jesus", Moses, Abraham and all the prophets. But the fool cannot or will not see[2] the truth. Unless he repent there is no hope of redemption.

Rulers do Foolishly

1 Samuel 13:13 “And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue:”

Samuel told Saul that his kingdom would not last because he was foolish enough to force the offerings of the people.[3]

Corrupting Power

Saul was given power to exercise authority over the people by the people. While the people gave him that power to be used for their own slothful and wantonness purposes, God had told them that the power would corrupt their leaders and themselves.

The centralizing of power would tempt the powerful to covet more power and the slothful would become more complacent and wanton.

A democracy of fools

In a democracy of the foolish the masses have a fool for a king.

This desire to elect a leader who could exercise authority over the people was a rejection[4] of God's kingdom. In God's government taxation comes in the form of voluntary tithes which are freewill offerings granted to a "called out" group identified as Levites. That Tithe to the individual Levite was the result of an individual choice of the people and "according to their service" to the people. That system will only work among people who actually and actively love their neighbor as themselves. The Kingdom of God is from generation to generation and the right to choose for ourselves, which we call liberty, is a gift from God. When we give the power to choose for us to others we are turning from the responsibilities that are correlative to our God given rights.

When the people elected to give their right to choose to one man or even a group of men they were abandoning God in spirit and in truth. The side effect of this is that the leaders will be corrupted and we as a society will become weak and beggarly.[5]

The blind leading the blind creates a company of fools.

The covetous practices of the people would degenerate them into "perfect savages" as predicted by Polybius and bring about the spirit of despotic tyranny where the people are willing to take a bite out of one another for the love of the wages of unrighteousness.

"Will history ask when reviewing our generation “What manner of men had lived in those days...who had so eagerly surrendered their sovereignty for a lie and a delusion? Why had they been so anxious to believe that the government could solve problems for them which had been pridefully solved, many times over, by their fathers? Had their characters become so weak and debased, so craven and emasculated, that offers of government dole had become more important than their liberty and their humanity? Had they not known that power delegated to the government becomes the club of tyrants? They must have known. They had their own history to remember, and the history of five thousand years. Yet, they had willingly and knowingly, with all this knowledge, declared themselves unfit to manage their own affairs and had placed their lives, which belonged to God only, in the hands of sinister men who had long plotted to enslave them, by wars, by "directives," by "emergencies." In the name of the American people, the American people had been made captive.” ― Taylor Caldwell, Devils Advocate

Power to take

Basically what is happening is the people are desiring to take from their neighbor, to force their neighbor to give that which was originally their neighbor's to the leader so that the leader could guarantee their personal security. This is the essence of covetousness and the Bible and the prophets warn us against this over and over again.[6]

Saul would eventually repent of that foolishness 1 Samuel 26:21 "Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly."

But David would do the same not only in the case of Bethsheba but would sin against the whole nation when he tried to institute a draft which was the prophecy of Samuel. He too would repent,[7] The willingness of the people to force the sons and daughters of their neighbors to labor and even die for their protection and welfare is an egregious sin against God and our fellow man. It is so common in the nations of the world and accepted by the people that without repentance all mankind's days are as numbered by their foolishness as they have desired to number their fellowman.

All men will have to face the temptations of exercising authority one over the other either as rulers or voters in a democracy. Today, we are taught that it is a good thing to apply to the authoritarian benefactors who force the contributions and sacrifices of the people, even though when Saul did that he was called “foolish” by Samuel and a violator of the commandments of the LORD thy God because he set to forcing the offering of the people in a system of Corban that would make the word of God to none effect.

Once a ruler does this he will take and take and take like 1 Samuel 8 tells us and the people will become humane resources and a surety for debt. They will be little more than Merchandise and their children will be cursed because of their Covetous Practices of impure Religion in a form of public religion through the state.

  • "And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father [also] chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions." 1 Kings 12:14

We are supposed to Repent and if we did then we could answer the question

People followed Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and Jesus. The altars of clay and stone was a way to create the social bonds of free people. The levites led the Israelites. And the early Church followed Christ and His Way, which was The Way, and advocated a Daily ministration that was dependent on Pure Religion through Fervent charity only. This was the Corban of Christ which was not like the system of Corban of the Pharisees nor of Rome or the systems of FDR and LBJ.
The church lost "the way" when it abandoned the practice of "pure Religion" while claiming to be the Church established by Christ. The people developed an appetite for the "wages of unrighteousness" from "public religion" in the days of Constantine. Those new Christians that often failed to fully repent degenerated the moral character of society with the masses of "instant christians".
That new religion of the emperor introduced a new faith with his apostate church replacing the doctrine of Jesus with the "doctrines of men", the Holy Spirit with emotion, the truth with the speaking of "great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage."[8]
They had a form of godliness but denied the power thereof.

Where is your religion

  • Do you only gather for the comfort it gives you, or do you gather to benefit others?
  • Christ came to serve, not be served. Do you desire to be served, or are you coming in His name and according to His character to serve others?

If we desire His Grace but we only love those who love us, then there is no Grace because it is clear we do not really believe in Him.

If we do not Repent of our Covetous Practices and are not diligently gathering together in Free Assemblies of Love for all to provide for one another in Charity according to the Perfect law of liberty then we have nothing according to Paul. According to Luke 6:32 if we only love those who love us there is no "Grace". Christ also said if you do not Forgive neither will the Father forgive you.[9]

It is not enough to hate the deeds of the workers of iniquity, but we must return to Thy first love and thy first work. To break the yoke, we need to return to the ways of righteousness spoken of in Isaiah 58 which are the ways of Christ and the early Church. And His yoke is light for it is carried by our love of one another.

Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and Christ all created Networks of charity to care for the true needy of society without force which is how they were able to help set people free. Do you gather with His Church to attend to the Weightier matters as Christ said?

  • Are you gathering in a Network of righteousness?
  • Do you come to love others or just be loved?

Early Christians found themselves in conflict with these systems of social welfare because they made the word of God to none effect. Christians had repented of their covetous nature when they received the Baptism of Christ. They heard and became Doers of the word not hearers only.

Remember Proverbs 12:24, "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the Slothful shall be under Tribute."

We know that liberty under God is not for the covetous who are Biting one another but it is also not for the slothful. If we are not congregating together in free assemblies bound together in a broad network by faith, hope, and charity alone according to the perfect law of liberty then we are not truly seeking the Kingdom of God nor His righteousness.

Burnt Offerings

Burnt Offerings[10] are understood by considering what happens from the viewpoint of the one who presents the offering. When his offering is burnt suggests that the offering turns to ashes. This means there was a change in the status and rights of the one who offered funds, garden produce, or land that previously belonged to him - he no longer owns even a small part of that property, and he has no rights to it. He totally gave his gift at the altar.

In reality, his offering is not set on fire. Nobody lights a hot fire to burn the man's contribution check or to literally turn his garden produce into a pile of ashes.

burnt to you

These are metaphors, and to unmoor their meaning is sophistry. We see term burnt is used as a metaphor to indicate the process of what happens to property rights related to the offering. The one who is freely giving the power to manage that property which by nature and his production of it has willingly severed his rights to it by the power of his own choice, and he is no longer the manager of it. He has made a freewill offering and it is now burnt up to him and has become a part of a social welfare system which is not a snare but sets the captive free.

The word we see most commonly translated "burnt offering" is ‘olah (עֹלָה)‎ [10] is defined "whole burnt offering" but also "ascent, stairway, steps." It is from the root word ‘alah (עֹלָה)[11] which is spelled the same but defined "to go up, ascend, climb".

There are portions of this offering which goes up by steps but the Levites do not go up by steps. Portions of these burnt offerings of the people goes up through the network by freewill offerings through the tens. They can also go laterally in the network according to the Holy Spirit which like the wind blowing the smoke from the offering according to that spirit. But there is no actual fire nor actual smoke because these terms are metaphors. To take care of the needy of society in any other way may become strange fire.

Laying down life

A burnt offering is meant to fulfill the principles of laying down your life[12] so that you may pick it up more abundantly.

From the beginning the people of God do freely give to take care of the needs of their society through pure Religion.[13]

After the offering is burnt, it becomes the property of the one to whom it was offered, and a burnt offering brought to the altar of Christ becomes an item of property belonging to Jesus Christ. After it is burnt, it will be managed by a steward, whom we call a minister of recorded elders (MORE).

Every unhewn stone of the altar was a minister of service who does not go up by steps, but he may pass a portion of the "offerings" he received up the network of living altars of men who were unregulated from the top down and depended upon freewill offerings and not controlled by others.

The power to give begins with the individual people. Once they give their power of choice over an offering, that power is entrusted to the minister in hope of his choosing wisely to give to others. The minister will give to others in good faith and hope .

Clerks and clergy

The minister in a civil government is often called a 'clerk'[14] or an 'official' providing services to the people.

The minister has duties connected with the altar[15], and he can only stand at the altar while he is trusted to serve according to his prescribed duties.

The minister does not have complete property rights over the property which came as a burnt offering. In the view of the minister, the item which came to the altar is an item of value, and if he acts according to his good conscience, he dares not steal it from its rightful owner (the superior being or corporation for whom he acts as a trustee).

In the case of a church minister, he has the duty to commune with the Father in heaven, to do His Divine will regarding the offering which came to him as a burnt offering, and this is just the same Jesus did, during His earthly ministry, as He was doing the will of the Father. The Father did not lead Jesus to dole out benefits to those who refused to consider and do according to the Law of the Almighty in heaven. And the church minister carefully weighs the situation before he administers welfare assistance, using items from the altar of Christ as provisions and benefits given out freely (with no strings attached, and without exercising authority over the recipient of the benefit).

The church minister may use a computer system, or he may use a handwritten system for keeping records. He will need to consider guidelines while he interacts with those who approach the altar of Christ. He certainly has religious duties related to welfare and the Daily ministration. He is also a singer[16] who proclaims the good news.

Look what Jesus did in Luke 9[17]. He asked His disciples to go preach the kingdom of God, because that was part of the Father's business.

Did they load up the stuff which came to the altar?

No, they traveled without lots of stuff, and when they were greeted by kingdom seekers, they were given what they needed on their journey. That which was given to them was charity, to support the work of the disciples during their journey. It was not a burnt offering, in that case, since it was given by the seeker directly to the disciple for his own use.

What, then, is the proper use of items that came to the altar?

And how is the burnt offering delivered?

It is for purposes of pure religion.

It is given in the context of a trust, with its trustee (deacon/minister) standing at his place to oversee all burnt offerings. A righteous manner of giving becomes the altar of Christ. If it is given by a manner of 'strange fire', the good trustee rejects it, and he does not let it touch the altar of Christ, so that the altar may remain pure and holy.

Corban of offerings

In Numbers 28, we find words like offering and burnt offering. The word for offering in the Hebrew is qorban. The word for burnt offering is olah. Both words indicate sacrifice, but the latter includes the idea of holocaust (going up in smoke). Another Hebrew word, ishshah, also indicates burnt offering, since it is made by fire.

"Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering [qorban], and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire [ishshah], for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer [qarab] unto me in their due season." Numbers 28:2

Qorban and qarab both have the idea of coming near. [18]

The reason for gathering together in a congregation of record includes purposes of drawing nearer to God, and He wants His children to come with them some of the blessings He has graced upon them along the way in their journey of life. We are to cast them upon the waters[19], which is to say, we are to share them, to make them available whenever a minister discovers a worthy soul who needs healing or comfort or assistance to get him back onto the path of diligence and righteousness. The burnt offering is at hand when the minister discovers, in the moment, it is time to distribute from the altar of Christ in the manner of ministry which is pleasing to the Father.

The manner of casting this bread upon the waters includes these aspects:

  • It is a voluntary gift, given from a cheerful heart by one who gladly shares his wealth;
  • it is a gift given for reasons of repentance, gratitude, love and mercy;
  • it is a gift that is useful (i.e, it is not rubbish, in the eyes of the giver);
  • it is a gift which, from God's way of seeing it, is not blemished;
  • it is an item which the giver owned, until the time he gave it as a burnt offering.

These aspects, together with all aspects of justice and humility, are innately part of the holy fire which make the burnt offering acceptable.

  16. One who announces. This is the idea of a news broadcaster. In the ancient days, this was accomplished by the town crier or the runner. This was a trustworthy one, who repeated accurately what he heard said by he king (for example). He put the burden upon himself to get the news to its intended destination, come what may. He encountered perils, on his journey. So be it, he is faithful to his duty, and he fends for himself. He was a tough guy! He would run in the rain and snow, just to deliver the news. It could save lives, if it was news about an approaching enemy. How many ministers act like that when they present the gospel? The singer is a preacher or even your newsman. Some singers use a melody with their message, but Jesus was a preacher (we have no record showing He preached with a melody and rhythm), and He was a singer in the sense of being a bearer of good news.

Types of offerings

Some categorize the offerings of the Old Testaments into five divisions:

the Burnt Offerings,
the Grain Offering,
the Peace Offering or Sin offering[1],
the Purification Offering, and
the Reparation Offering.

You will also see the sin offering, wave offering, freewill offerings and even drink offering.

All these offerings had some descriptions to give us some idea of their meaning or purpose. But through Sophistry the true meaning and purpose has been lost in a plethora of theologies and mindless rituals unmoored from their original purpose.

Understanding what the Burnt Offerings purpose was is key to understanding the altars of Clay and Stone. Only then can you connect the essential to understanding the types of offerings and their purpose. Israel was a government without rulers, a nation with no king.

The grain offering was to worship God and acknowledge His provision by sharing those provisions given you to and with others. Grain could almost be used as money and precious. It was the lack of grain that brought them into bondage and could mean famine and death.

The peace offering is often considered a propitiatory or conciliatory offering because of some offence. It appears in Hebrew as [2] It is from a word that means "to be at peace" so, in fact, it is an offering "to bring peace". This often means paying recompense. It is also said to mean "to be complete, be sound". It could be cakes or leavened bread as a thanksgiving.

In 1 Samuel 13 Saul forces a burnt offering and a peace offering because he needs support for a war he sees coming. Samuel says his kingdom will not stand because he has done this foolish thing.

1 Samuel 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

Foolish in the Old Testament

The first place we see the word foolishly in the Bible is Genesis here "Laban said to Jacob":

Genesis 31:28 And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in [so] doing.

The word is cakal[3] It is said to mean "to be foolish, be a fool" The Hebrew letters are a base of SamechKafLamed ^לכס^ From the verb לסכ kacal meaning "to be foolish, be stupid".[4] We find it appearing 8 times in the Bible.

5 foolish virgins wasted their time and oil and were locked out of the wedding feast? The wise virgins attended to the weightier matters and had oil for the feast.
What does the oil represent?[17]
Why did the foolish virgin run short on oil?
Where or how or what do they do to get more of this oil?  : The goal is the kingdom of God which requires the righteousness of God which you can only find through the tree of life which is the Holy Spirit as opposed to the tree of knowledge which can produce many other spirits often not so Holy nor righteous.
People go to denominational churches to get something. They identify that as fellowship.
What we need is fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Then when we gather we will have something to give and share(light from the oil in our lamp) rather than just be looking for something to get.

Virgins

The Bible talks about female goddesses, harlots, and whoredom which are often representing through metaphors instances of national adultery where Israel began to engage in the covetous practices like the cities of blood that made the people merchandise. Such system which were recorded in Babylon, Sumer, Egypt was called a snare and a trap because they constantly returning the masses to Babylon like systems and what has been called the bondage of Egypt.

The prophets, Proverbs, Peter, and Paul warn us that covetousness is idolatry.[18] And desiring the dainties of those rulers or praying for the benefits of those benefactors who exercise authority is form of fornication which makes the word of God to non effect.

Those who did not sign up for those tables of social welfare through the civil powers might be identified as virgins. Some virgins could be further identidied as foolish while others as wise.

Foolish Virgins

Of the ten virgins in Matthew 25 some trimmed their wicks and made sure they worked to have a supply of oil.[17] Oil provides light but oil was also for anointing and means the same as the word "Christ" and "Messiah". To increase oil is to increase the abiding of the love of the Holy Spirit.

That spirit comes when we gather in the name of Christ who came to serve[19] and sacrifice himself for others rather than be served.[20]

The foolish virgins may have kept themselves separate, pure, virgins from the World as Christ commanded but they squandered their oil using it up so there was not enough when they needed it.

Many people do the same with the oil of their life which God gives them. They take pride in being separate but they do not love one another, serve one another, feed His sheep and of course attend to the Weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith

The Foolish virgins might have taken back their responsibility for themselves by seeking to be separate from the world. But if they have also forsaken the gathering together for the purpose of Christ they are truly foolish. Jesus came into the world so that the peop,e of the world might be saved. If anyone fails to gather together so that at least their neighbor might be saved not just themselves.

In Acts we see the Early Church rightly dividing bread from house to house. They were only able to do so in their daily ministration because they were gathering in family groups of Tens.

Those local networks gathered in larger and larger networks so that men like Paul new where to go and who to help how to do so effeciently.

The early Christians formed a Faith Emergency Ministry Auxiliary through the Church appointed by Christ. These ministers were called out and appointed by Christ serve those who sought to follow the way of Christ.

Because they lived in the world and not of the world and made themselves separate they were able to institute Seven men to wait on the needs of the people through the tables of Christ.[21]

All this was possible because the followers of Christ were not a scattered flock and there was no place among them for the foolish virgins.[22]

Mendicant fools

They might be like monks and priests hiding in monasteries that think they are holy but they bear no fruit. Or they might be like the separatists who do not seek the world for its benefits. They might not look to the Benefactors of the World but they fail to become the Benefactors of Christ's appointed Kingdom of God who are servants based on love. They professed Christ with their lips but were not like His Church and are not "with us".

His Holy Church is a phrase describing what Christ appointed.

  • Church is from the word called out assembly.
  • Holy means separate,
  • His is a reference to Christ who is a foreign prince who appointed a government to His ministers.

They were to run it without exercising authority but by keeping themselves separate from the World.

When he told them to be separate from the World, he used the word meaning constitutional order and system of government.

To be a minister of that government of God you cannot be a member of a benefit system run by men who exercise authority one over the other. Due to changes in their laws, ministers who have no numbered membership often are not allowed to get licenses or IDs from those governments. They also cannot take oaths that renounce all princes[23] because that would mean they must renounce Christ and they cannot do that and remain His faithful Ministers.

The Church is separate from the state and even separate from the people in its purposes as the ministers of Christ. Because of the abuses of some men who claimed to be the ministers of Christ, the separate role of His ministers is often rejected by Modern Christians.

Matthew 25:1 "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The kingdom Matters

Jesus condemned[24] the Pharisees because the did not attend to the Weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith which include caring for the needs of our neighbors and the widows and orphans of our society through Pure Religion in matters of health, education, and welfare. We are NOT to provide for the needy of society through the Covetous Practices and the men who call themselves benefactors but who exercise authority one over the other like the socialists do.

The Way of Christ was like neither the way of the world of Rome nor the governments of the gentiles who depend on those fathers of the earth through force, fear and fealty who deliver the people back in bondage again like they were in Egypt. Christ's ministers and true Christians do not depend upon systems of social welfare that force the contributions of the people like the corban of the Pharisees which made the word of God to none effect. Many people have been deceived to go the way of Balaam and the Nicolaitan and out of The Way of Christ and have become workers of iniquity.

The Christian conflict with Rome in the first century Church appointed by Christ was because they would not apply to the fathers of the earth for their free bread but instead relied upon a voluntary network providing a daily ministration to the needy of society through Faith, Hope, and Charity by way of freewill offerings of the people, for the people, and by the people through the perfect law of liberty in Free Assemblies according to the ancient pattern of Tuns or Tens as He commanded.

The modern Christians are in need of repentance.

  18. Covetousness is idolatry
Colossians 3:5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:"
Ephesians 5:5 "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."
1 Corinthians 5:10 "Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."
  19. Heirs of service
The hierarchy of the kingdom of God does not go up by steps nor exercise authority one over the other but come as he that serves:
Matthew 20:27 "And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
Matthew 23:9 "And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, [even] Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."
Luke 22:26 "But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. 27 For whether [is] greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? [is] not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth."
Mark 9:35 "And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, [the same] shall be last of all, and servant of all."
Galatians 5:13 "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."
  20. “‭15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. ‭16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Hebrews 13:15-16
  21. Two tables
Psalms 69:22 Let their table become a snare before them: and [that which should have been] for [their] welfare, [let it become] a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate; [and] let none dwell in their tents."
Romans 11:8 "(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway."
1 Corinthians 10:20 "But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils." (See the sacrifice of fools in Ecclesiastes 5:1)
Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples [unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. (see "portion to seven" Ecclesiastes 11:2 and Acts 6.)
Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Isaiah 28:8 For all tables are full of vomit [and] filthiness, [so that there is] no place [clean]. 9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:
Malachi 1:7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD [is] contemptible.
Malachi 1:12 But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD [is] polluted; and the fruit thereof, [even] his meat, [is] contemptible.
Malachi 2:2 "If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay [it] to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings<01293>: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay [it] to heart." See wages of unrighteousness and snare.
Isaiah 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
1 Peter 2:8 "And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:" (see merchandise)
  22. “‭19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” 1 John 2:19
  23. "I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject" Oath of Naturalization
  24. Watch and Pray
Matthew 26:41 "Watch<1127> and pray<4336>, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak."
Mark 13:33 "Take ye heed, watch<69> and pray<4336>: for ye know not when the time is."
Mark 14:38 "Watch<1127> ye and pray<4336>, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly [is] ready, but the flesh [is] weak."
Luke 21:36 "Watch<69> ye therefore, and pray<1189> always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
Ephesians 6:18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"
Hebrews 13:17 "Obey(persuade) them that have the rule(count) over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you."
1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
  25. Matthew 20:25-26 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
Mark 10:42-43 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
Luke 22:25-26 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
