Letters with meanings
Over 700 years after Jesus was proclaimed king in Judea someone began to create the Masoretic version of the Old Testament with vowel points and cantillation marks.
Hebrew is said to be a “poor” language because it has a relatively small number of words compared to other languages (85,000[1] vs. 600,000 in English[2]). But those numbers may be deceptive because of the way in which Hebrew word meaning is altered through the composition of words[1] by adding or rearranging letters of root words to create new meanings and the fact that many Hebrew words may identify a physical or material object and an associated abstract idea.
To fully understand Hebrew you must translate a word according to the context in which it occurs as well as account for the composition of Hebrew words. Fortunately, these Hebrew letters represent meanings and ideas that give us clues as to the intent of the author. And there is also the composition of the words themselves such as the use of acrostics.[3]
To add a letter or delete it or just change its location actually alters the meaning and in essence creates a new unaccounted word form and meaning. Interpreting these thousand of compositions may require the mind to be open to the idea that private interpretation may have been in error because they are a product more of the tree of knowledge that the inspiration of the tree of life.
Logograph
A Chinese “logograph” or "ideogram", is a single grapheme which represents a base word, which is a meaningful unit of language. While Chinese characters are often thought of as overly complex, in fact they are all derived from several hundred simple pictographs and ideographs in ways that are usually quite logical. Combinations of these ideographs are used to form more words and ideas.
This combining of ideas with symbols actually effects our thinking.
One consequence of this form of writing is that the pronunciation of the language is not tied to letters. The sound of the words may change drastically over a period of time.
Japanese and Chinese writing may be comprehensible to both cultures, but their spoken language bears little or no commonality.
Symbols of Meaning
Scriptural Hebrew dates back to Abraham and has some connection or origin with Sandskrit. As Moses used it we can see that it was set down as a written language. It should not be confused with what has been called “Paleo-Hebrew” which some will say is nor Hebrew at all, but a Hamitic language of the Canaanites. Then there is the Ashkenazic Hebrew, Ladino Hebrew, and Arabic Hebrew. "Words are the symbols of ideas" but in Hebrew the letters are also symbols of both the meaning and metaphor.
Hebrew uses only a few dozen basic symbols which construct three letter base words. Meanings may become more complex or changed by adding different letters or placing them in different orders within the base word.
We must always realize that flesh and blood, letters and symbols cannot reveal the truth of God’s kingdom. It is Revelation of the divine spark that comes from God that will truly reveal His name.
Knowing God is about knowing Him in our hearts and minds because we let him in there. He makes a connection in us between realms of existence. Right now we have fallen to this realm of flesh and things.
Things like language and letters and forms are of the world. The Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed has made that connection for us and sends a spirit of that connection which we must receive into the darkness so that there is light.
The Hebrew Alphabet
From the earliest forms of Hebrew letters such as Proto Sinaitic script to much more modern versions of the Hebrew letters there have been changes seen in the way the letters are written but the meaning of the authors never changes.

Hebrew Verbs
The Semitic languages, like Hebrew, is characterized by words made up of three consonants (tri-consonantal root) . It is an inflexed language.[4] The three-root consonants carry the basic word meaning, while prefixed, suffixed, or internal additions show the syntactical function.[5] Vowels were added later so that the written word could be pronounced.
The word order
The normal word order to be expected would be the verb with modifiers following subjects or objects respectively.
So the verb is first with the subject following. This seems the most common word order but there are those who will argue that it is not the “default” but should be subject (s)-verb (v) as we see in English.[6]
Qal Niphal Piel or Pual and Hiphil
Qal or Kal is the most common and basic of all verb forms. It denotes simple action or a state of being. With no causation or specification implied the Qal is the basic non-flagged verb form.
Niphal or Nifal is the second most common form. It is often Passive but some teach that it may also function as reciprocal or reflexive with no causation or specification implied either.
The Piel verb form is active and expresses that the basic meaning of the Qal stem is now bringing through action of something into a state of being.
Pual, this is the PASSIVE counterpart to the Piel. It is often expressed by a Participle.
There are other forms are said to be the Hithpael, which is supposed to be reflexive or reciprocal form of the Piel stem expressing frequentative or continuing action .
The Hiphil form may appear to refer to the how or cause of an event while what is called the Hophal is said to be its passive counterpart to the Hiphil and are seldom used.
There are numerous references to Hebrew verb tenses such as Qal or Hiphil.
The Hiphil form is said to be a verbal stem formation in Biblical Hebrew, "usually indicated by a הִ prefix before the 1st radical and a hireq-yod (or sometimes tsere) vowel under the 2nd radical of the verb." While the Hiphil stem is generally used to express causative action in active voice we should never forget that most of these rules and their exceptions were devised by many different people who often had a doctrinal agenda they were looking to establish.
While a clear and distinct definition for Nifal which may be provided the Pual, Piel, and Hithpael forms may be said to be both medio-passive and reflexive of Qal.
There are those who attempt to explain away this anomaly by saying that "the Nifal may, historically, have begun as a reflexive, but changed over time to cover the passive role"
They also claim that "at the same time the Qal-Passive forms fell into disuse." This may be true but these major shifts are not in the original Torah but are the result, if not the coverup, for a major shift away from Moses was actually teaching.
After the beginning
Friedrich Böttcher started a lot of this in 1860’ but the Masoretes made many Qal-Passives as Nifal and since the Nifal serves as a passive stem of Qal there is no way of identifying which apparent Nifals were originally Qal-Passive. Some Qal-passive suffix conjugations were pointed as Pual and some prefix conjugations as Hofal. Hence there are forms pointed as Pual or Hofal which have no corresponding Piel or Hifil forms, or have meanings incompatible with their Piel and Hifil forms.
In 1970, Ronald Williams identified sixteen such verbs with Hofal forms, and six with Pual forms. Forms with perfective aspect were pointed as Puals and forms with imperfective aspect were pointed as Hofals.[7]
Once these forms were recognized as Qal-Passives, they could be discounted when considering the semantic function of Pual and Hofal. Pual and Hofal have been confirmed in the opinions of some as the passives of Piel and Hifil respectively.
We may apply the word 'tenses' but this adds to the confusion for the ancient Hebrew mind and the written scripture is more concerned with the state of a noun or verb than the tense. It is presumed impossible to translate a Hebrew verb into English accepting the limitation that early Hebrew never thought of an action as past, present, or future. After all it is a Testament.
Modern scholars
- "There is no way of knowing whether modern scholars' reconstruction of semantic fields and sense relations in an ancient dead language are merely a reflection of their own intuition, or their own native language, or whether those fields existed in Classical Hebrew" Sue Groom, Linguistic Analysis of Biblical Hebrew(p. 128).
Many prefer the inspiration of the consonantal Hebrew text rather than the Masoretic vowel points and comments that have been added by men with a religious agenda.
While there is the Samaritan Pentateuch, and now the Dead Sea Scrolls, other than fragments, there is no parallel family of manuscripts to call upon to determine the understanding of the words and meanings themselves.
The Masoretic[8] text may be technically similar based on comparison with the Dead Sea scrolls translations of a few texts the interpretations and varied English translations can alter our understanding of the original intent and message.
Teaching Classical Hebrew
Methods of teaching Classical Hebrew fall into two basic categories, the Grammar Translation Method and the Inductive Reading Method Inductive method lends itself to conversation and since there is no native speakers to consult when one wishes to test out ones inter-language hypotheses we often must resign ourselves to endless grammar exceptions.
What you are seeing is conclusions based on what the linguist believes the words mean already.
These rules and exceptions are determined to alter the meaning of the words to fit what they already believe the words are supposed to mean and therefore are heavily dependent on theological prejudice. If the linguist or translator comes to a conclusion that counter consistently accepted theology they loose credibility and will need to find another job. But this does not guarantee that "consistently accepted theology" is even close to the truth.
We have to believe what God is writing on our hearts and minds or believe in men, whether they be scholars or priests.
Years of complex rules based on when something was written and assumptions about the transition of usage and meaning there still was left exceptions to the defined function of each stem. The numbers may be small which do not fit but again this is about fitting into existing theology and excused by saying all languages have exceptions to their grammatical rules. The grammarian gave the linguist and translators a more flexible mechanism to un cooperative exceptions into their theological prejudice.

Things like language and letters and forms are of the tree of knowledge.
The Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed has made that connection for us and sends a spirit of that connection.
Moses and Jesus who was the Christ must have been in agreement. The question is are we.
Double letters
The use of Double letters often includes more the sum of their meaning. Two Yods in a row designate the name of God Adonai and in certain texts are written with the vowels of Adonai which have their own meaning, meaning something distinct from Elohim.
As the children of God we can only have the character of God if we will let His tree into our hearts and mind. The double Yod we see in the tree of life suggests we have done that in faithfully eating of that spirit of that tree.
The Tetragrammaton which begins with the Yod with two Hey separated by Vav is a symbol of the distinction that exist in the reality of what is true.
A Yod is the smallest letter, but kabbalistic types have given it a mystical significance as a divine point through which the 'spark of life' enters the more human realm of our flesh and blood existence.
Man is created both for this world and the world of Spirit.
God is spirit but through the word was made manifest. Jesus was flesh and blood in this world but had that divine connection to the Creator/Father which is Spirit.
Some see the team of flesh and spirit as opposites but they are not.
Flesh and spirit are said to be mortal-immortal, earthly-heavenly.
They are both contained within man if he is willing to see their truth there is no conflict.
Some will even say Flesh and spirit are good-evil but evil is the absence of good that occurs or that evil is created in man when he denies truth, which is hating the light. No one is born again who hates the light or prefers the darkness.
This rejection of the truth, the preference for delusion or a lie is a kind of vain comfort and not of God.
This is when the flesh is out of sink with the spirit and sin, evil, and darkness prevail.
This is what occurred when we denied God's word and in vanity ate of the tree of knowledge of our own minds denying the spiritual revelation of the tree of life.
Double Alef
It has been said that Psalms 25:18-19, there is double Aleph and the double Reish connecting David’s looking up to God with God looking down. But I only find a Double Yod.
Psalms 25:18 "Look upon mine affliction(06040(עָ֭נְיִי)) and my pain; and forgive all my sins. 19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. 20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee."
Psalm 119 was written in an acrostic pattern and every letter of the alphabet is followed by 8 verses so it is divided into 22 sets of eight-verse strophes, or sections.
In the article What is Christian about Christian Kabbalah? they state, "If we join the double aleph which is in the text The sceptre will not be taken away, etc. [Genesis 49:10] to the double aleph which is in the text God possessed me from the beginning [Proverbs 8:22] and to the double aleph which is in the text But the earth was empty [Genesis 1:2], we may understand by the method of Kabbalah, that Jacob spoke there of the true Messiah, who was Jesus of Nazareth."
But I only see:
Genesis 49:10 "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver(02710(וּמְחֹקֵ֖ק)) from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him [shall] the gathering of the people [be]." Westminster Leningrad Codex לֹֽא־יָס֥וּר שֵׁ֙בֶט֙ מִֽיהוּדָ֔ה וּמְחֹקֵ֖ק מִבֵּ֣ין רַגְלָ֑יו עַ֚ד כִּֽי־יָבֹ֣א [שִׁילֹה כ] (שִׁילֹ֔ו ק) וְלֹ֖ו יִקְּהַ֥ת עַמִּֽים׃
Proverbs 8:22 ¶ "The LORD possessed ((07069קָ֭נָנִי)) me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old." With Westminster Leningrad Codex showing יְֽהוָ֗ה קָ֭נָנִי רֵאשִׁ֣ית דַּרְכֹּ֑ו קֶ֖דֶם מִפְעָלָ֣יו מֵאָֽז׃
Genesis 1:2 "And the earth was without form(08414(תֹ֙הוּ֙)), and void(0922וָבֹ֔הוּ); and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." Westminster Leningrad Codex וְהָאָ֗רֶץ הָיְתָ֥ה תֹ֙הוּ֙ וָבֹ֔הוּ וְחֹ֖שֶׁךְ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י תְהֹ֑ום וְר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים מְרַחֶ֖פֶת עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַמָּֽיִם׃
Double Beit
The letter Beit is an expression of a primary "Purpose" in the since of where you are at as an individual which can often be seen by the nature of your house. Just as your heart dwells in you you dwell somewhere too. So the question may arise as to if your house is of God's house.
To see a double Beit, as with most double letters, might suggest that your house is both your house and the house of God or that your purpose is the same as God's purpose. You would not be living according to the righteousness you gleaned from the tree of knowledge but from the righteousness of God you perceived from eating of the tree of life.
One of the first times we see a double Beit is in Genesis 1:26 "of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth" (וּבַבְּהֵמָה֙)[9]. We also see it again in Exodus 13:2 "Sanctify[10] unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast[9]: it is mine."
The idea of sanctify[10] the first born[11] is to be set apart or to Consecrate or to dedicate. God is requiring that you dedicate to the altar of God for the practice of Pure Religion the first born of "man and of beast".
To consecrate both "man and of beast" to God for his purpose is to give life because the God of creation is Spirit and it is spirit that giveth life.[12]
The common word for beast is chay ChetYod[13] but here we see the word behemah BeitHeyMemHey[9] but in this text we see VavBeitBeitHeyMemHey or ūḇabbəhêmāh; (וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה) which contains a double Beit. See Exodus 13 study.
Another word is first seen in Exodus 14:5 "the heart(לְבַ֨ב)[14] of Pharaoh and of his servants". Earlier we saw "Pharaoh's heart(לְב)[15]" in verse 4 but with the double Beit it is not merely the heart but the inner heart and mind(לְבַ֨ב)[14].
Double Gimel
The letter Gimel is the third letter in the Hebrew alphabet and is the source of the Greek letter Gamma. The Gimel is about the Cause and Effect or "justified repayment" of creation. The word Gimel means to be "kind or benevolent" because that brings blessings. If we are "cruel and covetous" there will be consequences. The good consequences are called blessings the bad we call the Wrath of God.
Hebrew is spelled GimelYodMemLamed. It is said to be written as a man running after a poor man to give him charity. A double Gimel by itself has been translated "roof", גג, which is a covering.
The "Double Gimel" is said to also be one of three paths to wisdom. The root word chagag ChetGimelGimel[16] but in the text if in Exodus 5:1 we see wə·yā·ḥōg·gū VavYodHeyGimelGimel.
The noun גג (gag) denotes most commonly the flat roof[17] of a building on which things can take place; usually to do with idolatrous worship (Judges 16:27, Joshua 2:6, 2 Samuel 11):2, 2 Kings 23 ... Gog and Magog appear with two Gimels divided by a Vav: Agag, Hamon-gog.
Double Hey
The double Hey הָה, like other Double letters in Hebrew, has significance greater than the single Hey.
ה Hey Expression--Thought, Speech, Action. Manifest seeds of thought and life. [Emphasize, jubilation, window, fence] (Numeric value: 5)
The Hey is often added to a word to Emphasize the expression of a thought or speech or action with the hope of growth or amplify general consciousness or the validity of something in this world or the next, in Spirit and Truth, which is the opening between the realm of Spirit which are not visible to our physical eyes and the physical realm in which we common live.
A double Hey is actually rather uncommon combination since a Hey often already emphasizes a term. Some times a Hey at the beginning of a word is seen as a double Hey. Like other double letters it again may be dealing with a topic from the point of view of a double realm.
In Exodus 19:23 we see "And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount<hār (הָר)>[18] Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount <hāhār (הָהָ֖ר)>[18] , and sanctify <06942 (וְקִדַּשְׁתּֽוֹ׃ with an additional TavVav)> it."
Double Mem
The double MemMem מם, like other Double letters in Hebrew, has significance greater than the single Mem. The Mem has a numerical value of 40 and as a word a value of 80 which is a double MEM. There are different levels that the meaning of Mem may be manifested. God parted the waters to create, which resulted in the upper and lower waters.
Amam AlefMemMem comes from a root often found in Semitic languages. In the Hebrew root the word has a double Mem, one open and one closed. The double Mem often seems to include the idea of visible and also hidden or concealed. It is part of the secrets or mysteries of life's dynamics because it refers to the flow of life in the visible physical world and the less visible quantum or spiritual world.
The first place we see the term ‘amam (עָמַם) is in Lamentations[19] tells of "gold" becoming dim.
But this reference is not about "gold" but the "sons of Zion". They ask why what should be golden vessels have become earthen pitchers.[20] It is in part that they fail to care for or feed their own young children.[21]
They feed them the "royal dainties"[22], the dainties of rulers. This common theme of iniquity throughout the Bible alters the people, and brings the destruction of Sodom.[23] That iniquity turns what should be white to blackness.[24]
We also see ‘amam in Ezekiel.[25]
The Peculiar people of God are those who are intimate with God's revealed but other wise hidden knowledge. That knowledge comes by way of the Tree of life which is spiritual rather than the mere Tree of knowledge. This is the lack of that knowledge that brings destruction.
- Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
The word "lack" is balah[26] which is about "a wearing out" or a "gradually withdrawal" like the creeping in we see in 2 Timothy 3:6 which is the result of a process of cause and effect, a gradual flow from one jurisdiction to another.
2 Timothy 3:6 "For of this sort are they which creep[27] into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,"
There is another root word with a double Mem which is "Hamam" with a double Mem (הָמַם)[28] first seen in Exodus 14:24 as the word troubled and again in Exodus 23:27 as destroy all the people by His fear and again in Deuteronomy 2:15 are just a few of the places this word hamam appears in scripture.
Shin+double Mem+Nun (שְׁמָמָה)
- 08079. semamith (שְׂמָמִית)► a lizard
- 08078 shimmamon (שִׁמָּמוֹן)► horror
- 08077 shemamah or shimamah (שְׁמָמָה) ► devastation, waste
- 08076 shamem (שָׁמֵם) ► devastated
Double Nun
In Ecclesiastes 8:16 we see the phrase "with his eyes no one sees"[29] containing the root word ayin (AlefYodNun)[30] but in the text we see AlefYodNunNunVaV with a Double Nun. The word ayin represents a Hebrew letter: ע Ayin also U. Divine Providence "eye" or "fountain" of five states of kindness or severity. AlefYodNun or nothingness as opposed to AlefShin something [eye, watch] (Numeric value: 70)
But what is the significance of Double Nun if any?
If the meaning of Double letters suggests that physical and spiritual realms must be in conformity with each other then the same may apply to the Hebrew letter Nun:
נ ן Nun Heir to the Throne, Aramaic fish in the Mem (fish moving in flowing waters) or in the Hebrew the Nun may mean the kingdom with a double Nun suggesting spiritual insight in two realms. [fish moving... Activity life] (Numeric value: 50)
The answer to the solution to the vanities of vanities of Ecclesiates and the problem is addresssed in Ecclesiastes 8:verse 16. The verse ends with the words (בעיניו)with his eyes (איננו)no (ראה׃)one sees.
This unique phrase which contains the word "no" normally spelled AlefYodNun[30] but in the text we see AlefYodNunNunVaV with a double Nun.
This unique phrase is preceded by (את־ הענין אשר נעשה) the business that is done (על־הארץ) on the earth (כאשר נתתי את־לבי לדעת חכמה ולראות) (כי גם ביום) for even though (בַּיּוֹם֙)day (ובלילה)or night.[31]
Normally, the letters VavBeitLamedYodLamedHey(ובלילה) are translated and in the night which could have a meaning that is suggesting the idea of "in darkness"?
Living in darkness is equated without the light of God which is spiritual.
It also occurs in Job 24:14, Psalms 42:8 and even in Genesis 1:18.
The author may be simply saying that if you sleep day and night or are even awake night and day you still may not see with your eyes what is under the light of the sun because you need different eyes to see.
There is evidence of a need for the eyes of the Holy Spirit because your own heart and physical eyes are grossly inadequate.[32]
Double Kaf
- Exodus 33:13 "Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation [is] thy people."
In Exodus 33:13 Moses while speaking with the LORD face to face expresses his desire to God to know "thy way" which is translated from the Hebrew word derek (דֶּרֶךְ)[33] but appears in the text with a double Kaf Kaf.
The Hebrew word derek means a "way, road, distance, journey, manner". But God's way is expressed not with a single Kaf but with a Double letter. This suggest that he is asking a bout a way in this world and the way in spiritual dominion of the creator. A single Kaf means "כ ך Kaf K Crown: To Actualize Potential power from spiritual to physical realm [to cover, strength] (Numeric value: 20)"
Double Kuf
The double Kuf קק appears in the word cḥuqaq[34] but seems to always include additional letters that sometimes even replaces one of the Kufs. The question may arise as to the double kuf being added for a similar purpose of expressing the need for something to be in existence as spirit and truth.
Since the word cḥuqaq[34] is defined as cutout or engrave then it would follow that a Double Kuf suggest that it is a reference to writing something in two places such as writing upon the heart and upon the mind.
In Genesis 49:10 we see VavMemChetKufKuf(וּמְחֹקֵ֖ק) translated nor a lawgiver[35]
Numbers 21:18[36] we see BeitMemChetKufKuf (בִּמְחֹקֵ֖ק) by [the direction of] the lawgiver, with their staves.

Psalms 60:7[41] MemChetKufKuf (מְחֹֽקְקִי׃) of mine head; Judah [is] my lawgiver; The identical verse is repeated in Psalms 108:8[42] MemChetKufKuf (מְחֹקְקִֽי׃) of mine head; Judah [is] my lawgiver;

Ezekiel 23:14 [56] ChetKufKufYodMem (חֲקֻקִ֖ים) of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,
Double Lamed
Another double letter is the double Lamed.
We see this letter as ל Lamed means Aspiration of the Heart or to learn or even direct like a shepherd. It has to do with what the Hand produces, [hand is די YodDalet] or directs with staff, whip... like the tongue may direct. (Numeric value: 30)
The letter "lamed" is some times seen as a picture of a shepherd's staff and since a shepherd may represent a kind of King or prophet the letter may reference authority or teaching.
A double letter may denote something eternal or perpetual. An example of this is seen in the Hebrew word galal (gimellamedlamed), which means "to roll".[57] Gimel" is representing cause and effect which includes perpetual momentum of continuous action and with a double Lamed suggesting that this is in both physical and spiritual realms.
The Hebrew root of “curse”[58] is קלל but there is also another word that is translated curse from the Hebrew word arar[59] with a double Reish. The Hebrew root of “desecrate” is חלל . The only difference between these two roots is their first letter, chet (ח ) and kuf (ק ). Both words end with a double lamed (ל ).
To praise, "halal"[60] we see a window of revelation with the letter "hey." When God is revealed to us, perpetual praise is the result. In keeping with the double "lamed" symbolizing authority, we see the revelation of Him going forth carrying authority.
Isaiah 64:11 "Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised <01984> thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste."
Exodus 20: 25 "And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone[61]: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it."[62]
Ecclesiastes1:17 And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness(וְהוֹלֵל֤וֹת)[63] and folly(סִכְלוּת)[64]: I perceived that this also is vexation(רַעְיוֹן)[65] of spirit.
- Howlelah 01947(וְהוֹלֵל֤וֹ)[63] only appears in Ecclesiastes basically the word for shine[60] with a Vav between the Hey and double Lamed.
- The Tav at the end of hōwlêlōwṯ וְהוֹלֵל֤וֹת could be understood as a feminine plural and may suggest a Mystery wanting to be revealed. Ecclesiastes 1:17, Ecclesiastes 7:25
Double Pei
- Exodus 13:16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets <02903 וּלְטוֹטָפֹ֖ת >[66] between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.
- Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets <02903 לְטֹטָפֹ֖ת >[66] between thine eyes.
- Deuteronomy 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart[67] and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets <02903 לְטוֹטָפֹ֖ת >[66] between your eyes."
The "towphaphah" is associated with an ancient form of Meditation.
Double Reish
The letter Reish ר suggest a Process of Clarification which may include that process on two levels or realms if it appears as a double Reish as we have seen with other double letters. It also suggest the "head" or "beginning" or highest of something or some status. It may include the true revelation of Life. Numerically its value would be 200.
The Ayin+Double Reish is found in the Hebrew word arar (עָרַר)[68] To strip bare.
The words spelled with a Shin+double Reish suggests the cause and effect or spirit and truth clarifying the truth of something or higher status or greater power of choice.
We see the word curse[69] with Ayin+double Reish first in Genesis 3 when God says the serpent[70] is cursed above all living creatures[71] because he plotted and tempted to get Adam and Eve to disobey God.[72]
There is also another word that is translated curse from the Hebrew root qalal[58] seen in Genesis 8:21[73] The word curse here is KufLamedLamed (קלל) with a Double Lamed rather than AlefReishReish of the word arar[69] with its double Reish .
Numbers 16:13 [Is it] a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make[74] thyself altogether[74] a prince[74] over us?
- Proverbs 8:16 By me princes rule[74], and nobles, [even] all the judges of the earth.
- Isaiah 32:1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule[74] in judgment.
The same letters of Shin+Double Reish that is seen as rule or reign is also seen as enemy.[75]
- Psalms 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies[75]; make thy way straight before my face.
- Psalms 27:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies[75].
- Psalms 54:5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies[75]: cut them off in thy truth.
- Psalms 56:2 Mine enemies[75] would daily swallow [me] up: for [they be] many that fight against me, O thou most High.
- Psalms 59:10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies[75].
And seen also represents a physical "navel"[76] in the Song of Solomon 7:2 Thy navel[77] [is like] a round goblet, [which] wanteth not liquor: thy belly [is like] an heap of wheat set about with lilies.
Psalms 25:18-19, there is double Aleph and the double Reish connecting David’s looking up to God with God looking down suggesting that mutual acknowledgment or relationship.
There is a word containing a double Reish parar(פָרַר)[78] that is said to mean to break, frustrate, make none effect. If the double reish has to do with Process of Clarification on two levels or realms, then that breaking is about violating a precept of God in spirit and truth.
The words parar meaning make to none effect and perek[79] meaning "harshness, severity, cruelty" can be said to form the bases of the Hebrew word in the Old Testament for vail which is poreketh( פֹרֶכֶת ) PeiReishKafTav.[80] (See vail).
Double Samech
The Hebrew word ססַנָ nacac[81] (naw-sas’) is said to be a primitive root like the identical Hebrew word nacac numbered 05264 and contains the Double Samech (ססַנָ) which we see associated with the altar of Jehovahnissi.
This Hebrew word nacac numbered 05264[82] is said to mean "lifted up as an ensign".
As a verb the Hebrew word ססַנָ nacac[81] numbered 05263 is said to mean "to be sick" but translated "standardbearer".
Some will translate Isaiah 10:18
- "And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer <05263 נֹסֵֽס׃ nōsês [81] > fainteth<04549 כִּמְסֹ֥ס kimsōs[83] >."
- Westminster Leningrad Codex (Consonants Only)

Holman Christian Standard Bible
- "his forests and orchards as a sickness consumes a person."
New American Standard Bible
- "his forest and of his fruitful garden, both soul and body, And it will be as when a sick man wastes away.
King James Bible

International Standard Version
- "its forest and its fruitful land the LORD will destroy— both soul and body— and Assyria will be as when a dying man wastes away."
American Standard Version
- "his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and it shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth."
Young's Literal Translation
- "his forest, and his fruitful field, From soul even unto flesh He doth consume, And it hath been as the fainting of a standard-bearer."
It should also be noted that the word Macac[83] translated in different versions as fainteth, wastes away, and consume also contains a Double Samech but only when it appears in Isaiah 10:18.
No Double Samech is used in other verses containing the same word:

In Zechariah 9:16 we see, "And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for [they shall be as] the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign <05264> upon his land."
In both the Holman Christian Standard Bible and the New American Standard Bible נָסַס nacac, given the number 05264[82] is translated "Sparkling" in His land.
While we see the Double Samech in the text they are framed with the letter TavNunVav...VavTav and appear as miṯnōwssōwṯ (מִֽתְנוֹסְס֖וֹת MenTavNunVavSamechSameckVavTav).
The meaning and the journey
But other words lead to the crown of heaven through the waters of our life through the Eternal cycle or circle of life with a " Potential power from spiritual to physical realm".
Understanding altars of clay and stone and the purpose and function of the altar of Jehovahnissi is essential to understanding ססַנָ nacac:
- נ ן Nun Heir to the Throne, Aramaic fish in the Mem (fish moving in flowing waters) or in the Hebrew the Nun may mean the kingdom with a double Nun suggesting spiritual insight in two realms. [fish moving... Activity life] (Numeric value: 50)
- ס Samech The Eternal Cycle The circular symbolizes the fundamental truth described in the mystery of the ten statements [ prop... Support, turn] (Numeric value: 60)
- ס Samech The Eternal Cycle The circular symbolizes the fundamental truth described in the mystery of the ten statements [ prop... Support, turn] (Numeric value: 60)
The phrases "spirit and truth" or "flesh and blood" or "heart and soul" all share this idea of double realms.
Other words like nacak 05258 נָסַךְ [84] NunSamechKaf said to mean to pour out, pour, offer, cast a drink offering[85] are given other Strong's numbers as we see in 05259 נְסַךְ[86] spread or to weave[87], 05260 נְסַךְ[88] offer[89], 05261 נֶסֶךְ[90] drink offering[91], and finally 05262 נֶסֶךְ[92] drink offering[93]:
- נ ן Nun Heir to the Throne, Aramaic fish in the Mem (fish moving in flowing waters) or in the Hebrew the Nun may mean the kingdom with a double Nun suggesting spiritual insight in two realms. [fish moving... Activity life] (Numeric value: 50)
- ס Samech The Eternal Cycle The circular symbolizes the fundamental truth described in the mystery of the ten statements [ prop... Support, turn] (Numeric value: 60)
- כ ך Kaf K Crown: To Actualize Potential power from spiritual to physical realm [to cover, strength] (Numeric value: 20)
Double Tzadik
There are numerous double letters that are arranged in the Hebrew text and this is said to include the double Tzadik which would appear as matsats[94] in the Bible as the root word of a very common word that represents something we can physically have in our house, our hand and our food but actually also represents a moral idea or concept that is intrinsically related to covetous practices and corruption.
Isaiah 66:11 "That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out <04711>, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory."
It should also be noted that in the actual text where this Hebrew word matsats[94] is said to appear it is not written with its double Tzadik but as tāmōṣṣū or TavMemTzadikVav (תָּמֹ֛צּוּ).
The letter צ ץ Tzadik is always related to The Faith of the Righteous One, the foundation of the word "to hunt" or Harvest even eat or desire. [Harvest, pant, desire] (Numeric value: 90)
If double letters are often a reference to the spirit and truth dynamic of a cause and effect universe where the spiritual and physical realms echo evidence of the singularity of creation and the God of creation then what does a double Tzadik indicate?
A key to understanding the dynamics of the double Tzadik is to know that the word matsats which appears only this once in the Bible is also the root word for the term leaven or matstsah[95].
We may ask why but again Hebrew is composed of letters that have meanings and if we alter the letters we may be altering the use of the word and its meaning. It may require a different way of thinking about language as something not merely composed of symbols and their meanings but with a more spiritual dynamic.
Is it clearly understood in the teachings of Moses that yeast in the bread at Passover is only part of a rituals and ceremonies which is meant to warn us about the spirit the leaven symbolizes in that root word matsats[94] which is written by letters in the text representing a source of spiritual corruption "in the sense of greedily devouring (the) sweetness" of something.
We need to be finding out if there is spiritual corruption found in our our practices of our daily ministration that is sucking out the sweetness of our soul and the soul of society?
Those who unmoor meaning from their forms of rituals and ceremonies strangle the spirit that gives life and fall into a prison where the letter killeth.[96] But those who read the text with the light of the Holy Spirit, instead of in the shadows of the tree of knowledge, may be guided through the currents and eddies of language of definitions and dogma. It may also be significant to note that the verb preceding it which is anog[97] AyinNunGimel (עָנַג) but what we see in the text is wəhiṯ‘annaḡtem VavHeyTavAyinNunGimelTavMem (וְהִתְעַנַּגְתֶּ֖ם).
These two words have numerous additional letters including the appearance of three Tavs. Moses only uses the word anog[97] once and not in a good sense.[98] but in Isaiah 66:11 the term is surrounded by the letter of faith which flows in in a process of sacrifice.
These that are blessed in these verses 10 through 14 stand in contrast to those earlier in verses 3 and 4,[99]
Do these same principles apply to the rituals and ceremonies of circumcision of the flesh and circumcision of the heart?
Double Yod
The double Yod means that God's Holy Spirit, His Yod or divine spark, was present in Spirit and Truth.
In Exodus 1:17 the words saved alive is from Chayah consisting of the Hebrew letters ChetYodHey[100] but we see in the text wat-tə-ḥay-ye-nā VavTavHeyYodYodNun with a Double Yod. And again in Exodus 1:20 the words Therefore dealt well are from yatab YodTetBeit[101] but in the text way-yê-ṭeḇ VavYodYodTetBeit with another Double Yod. The Double Yod means that God rewarded them by causing the royalty and the priesthood to issue from them.
The Hebrew word that is formed with only a BeitYod is said to mean "Pray" as in "excuse me"[102] and is commonly translated "Oh" as in "Oh LORD". בִּי biy [bee] perhaps from 01158 (with the sense of asking) as an entreaty often translated as "Oh" defined as "if it please, pray excuse me".
- See also 0997 בֵּין ben, between; 0996 בֵּין bayn; 0995 בֵּין bin, To discern; 0994a בֵּי bi pray, excuse me, please, and 0994b בֵּיי bayay, to entreat; 0998 and 0999(Daniel 2:21) binah בִּינָה , an understanding;
Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed[103] man of the dust[104] of the ground[105], and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life[106]; and man became a living[107] soul[108]."
The term formed[103] is not yatsar YodTzedekReish but within the text we see way·yî·ṣer VavYodYodTzedekReish. Again the YodYod express the idea that man was not merely molded physically but spiritually.
So, man was given a double gift just as we see with the rewards and blessing given the midwives of Egypt in Exodus 1. They knew what was right from within by the spirit of revelation and followed that knowing with action in the real world as doers of the word, the Logos.
This, of course, was a part of the armor of God and gave them a protection.
Faith in action is not just faith in the mind but is fulfilment of a process of spiritual salvation.
Being a doer of the word is not just a suggestion but is a requirement.
There is another word considered to be from an unused root meaning to effervesce but contains a double Yod which is yayin YodYodNun.[109] It is said to mean wine and can be a metaphor for blood, but also love. New wine is symbolic of the the truth and the Holy Spirit
In Exodus 2:14[110] Moses feared[111] os the word יָרֵא yare’ normally spelled YodReishAlef but in the text we see וַיִּירָ֤א way·yî·rā VavYodYodReishAlef translated as and feared.
The Vav can give us the word and but what does the double yod tell us?
We are led to believe that Moses feared the Pharaoh but the word Pharaoh פַּרְעֹה֙[112] refers to the "Great house of Pharoah" which included the whole the whole bureaucracy of that government and not merely one man.[113] That house did not like Moses because by blood he was not Egyptian but only by adoption.
Does Moses's fear men or does he fear of God and the loss of his own soul?
Did Moses began to know he killed because he lacked faith?
Was he becoming a tyrant and fled his situation?
When the midwife feared God we see the word midwives in Exodus 1:17 and Exodus 1:21 as ham·yal·lə·ḏōṯ הַֽמְיַלְּדֹת֙ ends in the letter Tav the letter of faith.
There are many other examples... we will look at in our studies of the Bible.
Double Zayin
Another double letter includes the double Zayin which is found it what is said to be found in the root word גַּזָז gazaz[114] which is said to mean shear but the word גַּזָז gazaz is often inclusive of a deeper meaning and not just those who shear sheep.
We see in Isaiah 53:7 there is a comparison of sheep willing to be shorn without complaint:
"He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers <01494> is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."
And in Jeremiah 7:29 being willing to be sheared or have your hair cut is symbolic of repentance:
"Cut off <01494> thine hair, [O Jerusalem], and cast [it] away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath."
Even Laban discover his silver images of his father are gone when he went to shear his sheep which seems odd to say the least.
Genesis 31:19 "And Laban went to shear <01494> his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that [were] her father’s."
Double Tav
One important Double letters in Hebrew is the Double Tav which represents double faith or faith in Spirit and Truth, or spirit and flesh.
In Deuteronomy 7:3 we see Marriages[115] is not ChetTavNun חָתַן chathan but is TavTavChetTavNun תִתְחַתֵּ֖ן ṯiṯ-ḥat-tên which is about making contracts, covenants and constitutions with them in spirit and truth because of the double Tav.
In Deuteronomy 7:5 we see a word for destroy which is not from shamad ShinMemDalet[116] nor Abad AlefBeitDelat[117] nor charam ChetReishMem.[118] which are the most common Hebrew words translated destroy. There are many words translated destroy such as machah[119], shachath[120], caphah[121], mashchiyth [122], karath [123], shabar[124], quwr [125], huwm[126], chabal[127], but there is also a different chabal[128]. .
But the word here is the word nathats NunTavTzadik[129] but in the text we see tittōṣū with the letters TavTavTzadikVav תִּתֹּ֔צוּ tit-tō-ṣū, again containing the Double Tav which means to not just destroy the form but overcome their alters in "spirit and truth". With the inclusion of the Tzadik and a Vav at the end this destruction is brought about by righteousness in Spirit and Truth.
This is the same approach and principle we see in Mark 7: 10- 13 Where the Corban or Sacrifice of the Pharisees was making the word of God to none effect because it had become Legal charity. In order to be a true gift from God by the right of the individual to choose through righteousness to make a freewill offering it must be the result of fervent charity. Christ did not destroy the altars of the Pharisees (רצון לתת Ratzon La’Tet) by force but supplanted them with his living altars of charity.
It is the connection or synchronization of two realms of the Spirit and the physical reality through being a doer of the word that manifests the power of the kingdom. It is the Kingdom of God at hand where we seek to do the righteous will of the Father creator.
Parting waters
The Hebrew letter mem means water or flow of something. Water is the foundational component in the physical creation of life.
Harmony of realms
There are many other occurrence of Double letters.
Examples of these double letters can be seen in the Song of Solomon or Song of Songs which occurs in chapter 5 within the woman's innermost desires. This book or song seems to be strange and out of place in the biblical library but is full of the symbols of salvation that must come in spirit and in truth.
- "I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night."
She answer to the knocking of her lover and no other. Though her love seems to have "withdrawn himself, and was gone"[130] like Christ speaking to the Father on the cross.[131]
During this absence in the text she is left alone and wonders lost in the world and is abused by the "watchmen of the city" but she remains faithful like the true bride of Christ.
In the text we find a double Dalet, three double Yod(s), a double Tav, a double Shin, a double Vav, a double Samech, and two double Lamed(s).
Doubling often signifies truth of the thing in two realms like the double Tav representing a synchronization of the will of the Father and His children, mankind. It is the union of the Father and Son of faith, in spirit and truth.
- Exodus 1:17 "But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive."
God was good to the midwives who disobeyed the order of the Pharaoh to kill the newly born baby boys, at the risk of their own lives.
In the Bible the phrase for “made the good” contains a double Yod, even though there is no need for it.
Why is it there?
Because the two realms must come into harmony.

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The academy of the Hebrew language estimates 45,000 words, in addition to 30,000-35,000 word compositions (school in Hebrew is book-house בית-ספר, for example), which totals the estimate in 75,000-80,000 meaningful expressions of either words or word compositions.
- ↑ The Oxford English Dictionary records about 600,000. The Second Edition of the 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary, published in 1989, contains full entries for 171,476 words in current use, and 47,156 obsolete words. To this may be added around 9,500 derivative words included as subentries.
- ↑ "Acrostics occur in Psalms 111 and 112, where each letter begins a line; in Psalms 25, 34, and 145, where each letter begins a half-verse; ; in Psalm 37, Proverbs 31:10-31, and Lamentations 1, 2, and 4, where each letter begins a whole verse; and in Lamentations 3, where each letter begins three verses." (Acrostics in the Hebrew Bible) "an acrostic poem is a poem in which the initial letters of each successive line form a word, phrase or pat- tern" (Oxford Companion to the Bible 1999.)
- ↑ In grammar, inflection or inflexion is the modification of a word to express different grammatical categories such as tense, mood, voice, aspect, person, number, gender and case. - ↑ : The present Hebrew Bibles that we now possess are from the Massoretic Text. This text dates back as far as AD 900 and is called the Massoratic Text because it was a product of the Jewish scribes known as the “Massoretes”. (Alternative form of masorite found in some dictionaries.)
- The Massorets were Hebrew scholars between AD 500 and 950 who made determinations about pronunciation and grammatical form of the Old Testament text by inserting vowel points. Their opinion and criticism produced the modern day Hebrew Bible from what was an unpainted consonantal text we no longer have.
