Double Nun
Double Nun
In Ecclesiastes 8:16 we see the phrase "with his eyes no one sees"[1] containing the root word ayin (AlefYodNun)[2] but in the text we see AlefYodNunNunVaV with a Double Nun. The word ayin represents a Hebrew letter: ע Ayin also U. Divine Providence "eye" or "fountain" of five states of kindness or severity. AlefYodNun or nothingness as opposed to AlefShin something [eye, watch] (Numeric value: 70)
But what is the significance of Double Nun if any?
If the meaning of Double letters suggests that physical and spiritual realms must be in conformity with each other then the same may apply to the Hebrew letter Nun:
נ ן Nun Heir to the Throne, Aramaic fish in the Mem (fish moving in flowing waters) or in the Hebrew the Nun may mean the kingdom with a double Nun suggesting spiritual insight in two realms. [fish moving... Activity life] (Numeric value: 50)
The answer to the solution to the vanities of vanities of Ecclesiates and the problem is addresssed in Ecclesiastes 8:verse 16. The verse ends with the words (בעיניו)with his eyes (איננו)no (ראה׃)one sees.
This unique phrase which contains the word "no" normally spelled AlefYodNun[2] but in the text we see AlefYodNunNunVaV with a double Nun.
This unique phrase is preceded by (את־ הענין אשר נעשה) the business that is done (על־הארץ) on the earth (כאשר נתתי את־לבי לדעת חכמה ולראות) (כי גם ביום) for even though (בַּיּוֹם֙)day (ובלילה)or night.[3]
Normally, the letters VavBeitLamedYodLamedHey(ובלילה) are translated and in the night which could have a meaning that is suggesting the idea of "in darkness"?
Living in darkness is equated without the light of God which is spiritual.
It also occurs in Job 24:14, Psalms 42:8 and even in Genesis 1:18.
The author may be simply saying that if you sleep day and night or are even awake night and day you still may not see with your eyes what is under the light of the sun because you need different eyes to see.
There is evidence of a need for the eyes of the Holy Spirit because your own heart and physical eyes are grossly inadequate.[4]
In Job 31:35 we see a double Nun in the word anah[5] with additional letters including the yod at the beginning and the end, ya‘ănênî (יַעֲנֵ֑נִי) translated "answer me".
- "Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire[6] is[7] , that the Almighty would answer me(יַעֲנֵ֑נִי ya‘ănênî;)[5], and that mine adversary had written a book."
Your answer is your response and it must flow or swim in Spirit and in truth or there will be consequences written in the book of this cause and effect universe created by God. (See "prosecutor" כתב איש ריבי׃)

- Ezekiel 9:4-5 “4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark (תָּ֜ו TavVav) upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. 5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:”
- Revelation 13:15-17 “15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
- Revelation 14:8-12 "8... she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
- Revelation 15:1-4 “1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. 2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.”
- Revelation 16: “2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.”
- Revelation 19:20 “20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
- Revelation 20:4-5, “4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”
- Philippians 3:13-18 “13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:” :
