Torah the books
Torah as the name of the old Testament book is (in Judaism) the law of God as revealed to Moses and recorded in the first five books of the Hebrew scriptures (the Pentateuch). In the Hebrew we see תּוֹרָה TavVavReishHey the letters we read as Torah[1] which can include the connection with a Vav of the Tav (faith) and a Reish (authority) or power which gives us "Instruction", "Teaching" and "Law" through the Holy Spirit.
Torah was a scroll containing these five books.
| Torah | ||
| Genesis | origin "In [the] beginning" | בְּרֵאשִׁית, Bərēšīṯ, |
| Exodus | “departure.” | שְׁמוֹת, Shəmōṯ, "Names" |
| Leviticus | "pertaining to Levites" | וַיִּקְרָא Vayikra/Wayyiqrā |
| Numbers | "In the desert [of]" | בְּמִדְבַּר, Bəmiḏbar, |
| Deuteronomy | "[spoken] words" | דְּבָרִים, Devārīm, |
We see the word for Torah for the first time in Genesis 26:5 "Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments[2], my statutes[3], and my laws.[4]"
Torah the word
Torah תּוֹרָה designates divine instruction that comes from God and therefore bears His authority. While commonly rendered “law,” its semantic range embraces teaching, direction, and revelation that guides the covenant people in belief and practice. Whether addressing moral conduct, worship, or civil life, torah is always God-centered counsel that calls for response in faith and obedience.
The word "Torah"[1] in Hebrew is derived from the root Yarah, ירה,[5] which in the hif'il conjugation means "to guide/teach". Christians refer to the first five books of the Hebrew Bible as the "Pentateuch", "five scrolls".
The Torah has been translated by religious scholars into most of the major European languages, including English, German, Russian, French, Spanish and others. But for a true understanding the unique nature of the Hebrew language offers some aid to its understanding which requires humility and the Holy Spirit.
- "The Torah, held to be the most ancient of histories, exists today in three separate versions: the Hebrew, considered authentic by the Jews and the Protestant clergy; the Greek Septuagint, which was used as authoritative in the Greek and other eastern churches; and the Samaritan Torah, the standard authority for that people.
- These three versions differ greatly, one from another, even with regard to the lifetimes of the most celebrated figures. In the Hebrew Torah, it is recorded that from Noah's flood until the birth of Abraham there was an interval of two hundred and ninety-two years. In the Greek, that time span is given as one thousand and seventy-two years, while the Samaritan, the recorded span is nine hundred and forty-two years. Refer to the commentary by Henry Westcott for tables are supplied therein which show the discrepancies among the three Torahs as to the birth dates of a number of the descendants of Shem, and thou wilt see how greatly the versions differ from one another. Moreover, according to the text of the Hebrew Torah, from the creation of Adam until Noah's flood the elapsed time is recorded as one thousand six hundred and fifty-six years, while in the Greek Torah the interval is given as two thousand two hundred and sixty-two years, and in the Samaritan text, the same period is said to have lasted one thousand three hundred and seven years. Reflect now over the discrepancies among these three Torahs. The case is indeed surprising. The Jews and Protestants belittle the Greek Torah, while to the Greeks the Hebrew version is spurious, and the Samaritans deny both the Hebrew and the Greek versions." Sir ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’ Abbas K.B.E. 1906.
There are many words translated statute, ordinance, law, commandment, custom etc., Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge[6], my commandments[2], my statutes[3], and my laws[7].
The Law of Torat
In Exodus 13 we see a memorial is established by Moses to help the people bring the Torah[8] into their mouth.
We see the Hebrew word Torat(תּוֹרַ֥ת) said to be mean law and from the word Torah(תּוֹרָה), which is said to be from yarah or yara (יָרָה יָרָא)[5] YodReishHey meaning to throw or shoot or cast but is translated most often as teach.
Torat and Torah have a striking similarity to tor(תּוֹר) a turtledove supposedly from tor (תּוֹר תּוֹר) meaning ornaments or border, tor(תּוֹר) meaning estate and also identical to tor(תּוֹר) a bullock or ox.
The letters of TavVavReish have meanings that together share common connection to kinds of sacrifices.
There is the pagan law of the Turtledove sacrifices of Sumer's Goddess of welfare through the idolatry of Balaam.
Then there is the true Corban of Moses by the law of faith rather than the that of a forced sacrifice seen used by Cain, Abimelech, Pharaoh, Nimrod, and the Corban of the Pharisees and Herod through the deeds of the Nicolaitan which God hates.
The error of Balaam is found in the Bible as the City-state that is a cauldron, the cities of blood, the cities established by consent that have One purse where rulers offer tables for your welfare that are a snare and a trap, and we also, of course, see in their modern Socialism and Marxism the Mandell Houses, FDRs, LBJs and all Democratic socialist, etc.
Their means and methods mark the masses with the key Elements that distinguish the way of the world from the Kingdom of God.
The covetous practices of men and their rulers who exercise authority as the benefactors or civil fathers provide the wages of unrighteousness as dainties and benefits to the masses.
This idolatry has been accepted and even promoted by the doctrines of the Modern Church despite being forbidden by Christ.
The word Torah is usually TavVavReishHey (תּוֹרָה) from the word By adding a TavVav instead of the Yod it becomes Torah which could be seen as a sort of teaching by faith.
The Gospel is spread by word and deed and not by the sword, force, fear, nor fealty. It could also be spread by revelation. Which would include the Holy Spirit and not merely the right reason which would be the word of God .
Torat without Leaven
But Exodus 13:9[9] we see for the first time this word form Torat with the letters TavVavReishTav translated law or Torah. We see this form of Torat again in Leviticus 7:11 translated law in the sense of the "law of the sacrifice" which suggest sacrifice by faith rather than that by the Leaven of the Pharisees.
Torat of the Nazarite
We also see this form of Torat translated law[10] in Numbers 6 in reference to the Nazarite. Its final appearance is in Malachi 2:6 and Malachi 4:4 in relation to Moses' first use of the term of writing the law of faith on your heart and mind.
Tōwraṯ תּוֹרַ֥ת
The word Tōwraṯ תּוֹרַ֥ת should almost be given its own Strong's number because of its unique Exodus 13:9 that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth:
Leviticus 6:9 law of the burnt offering: Leviticus 6:14 the law of the meat offering: Leviticus 6:25 the law of the sin offering: Leviticus 7:1the law of the trespass offering: Leviticus 7:11 the law of the sacrifice Leviticus 11:46 the law of the beasts, Leviticus 12:7 the law for her that hath born Leviticus 13:59 the law of the plague Leviticus 14:2 the law of the leper Leviticus 14:32 the law [of him] in whom [is] the plague Leviticus 14:57 this [is] the law of leprosy. Joshua 8:31 book of the law of Moses, Joshua 8:32 copy of the law of Moses, Joshua 23:6 the book of the law of Moses, Joshua 24:26 the book of the law of God, 2 Kings 14:6 the book of the law of Moses, 2 Kings 23:25 law of Moses; 1 Chronicles 22:12 keep the law of the LORD 2 Chronicles 12:1forsook the law of the LORD, 2 Chronicles 17:9 the book of the law of the LORD 2 Chronicles 34:14 the law of the LORD Ezra 7:10 the law of the LORD, Nehemiah 8:1 the law of Moses, Nehemiah 8:18 in the book of the law of God. Hosea 4:6 law of thy God, Amos 2:4 law of the LORD, Malachi 2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth, Malachi 4:4 the law of Moses
Torah keepers
Torah keepers seek to obey God by doing what they think is keeping the Torah. Of course, no one can keep the Torah by his or her own personal will and knowledge of it.
When Paul talks about the law being done away, he is speaking of the law as interpreted by the Pharisees and the hand written ordinances of men like Herod and the obligations imposed by their civil system, Corban.
There was a Corban of Moses that required altars made of Lively Stones. While the authors who wrote the Old Testament were inspired every one who reads it or translates are not always inspired.
Paul did not mean the principles and precepts of God expressed in the text were done away. God is the same and His ways of righteousness have never changed.
The Torah must be written in you by God and His Holy Spirit. The Bible and especially the Hebrew language is full of Allegories and metaphors and without the Holy Spirit we may unmoor the actual spiritual instructions from the physical symbols. The symbols and ritual do not justify anyone before God.
To think so in anyway would be a form of idolatry.[11]
No one should imagine that by wearing fringes or sowing Breeches or keeping the Sabbath on a special calculated day or even having Feasts we can be justified. If we're clinging to the outward form in any way, we will drift away from the message and its purpose and fail to bloom in the light of the Holy Spirit.
Through vanity and sophistry over the ages people have deceived so they believe a lie.[12]

This idolatry has been accepted and even promoted by the doctrines of the Modern Church despite being forbidden by Christ. - ↑ Covetousness is idolatry
- Colossians 3:5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:"
- Ephesians 5:5 "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."
- 1 Corinthians 5:10 "Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."
- For it is written that the tables of dainties provided by rulers of the world are a snare because they cause the masses to bite one another through government systems of legal charity which are covetous practices which are a form of fornication or adultery where the people are devoured as merchandise, curse children and are "entangled again in the yoke of bondage" with the aid of the false religion of the whore who rides the beast.
- ↑ Why we Believe a lie
- 2 Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
- Psalms 81:11 "But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. 12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: [and] they walked in their own counsels."
- Psalms 109:17 "As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him."
- Isaiah 29:9 "Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. 10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. 13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, [even] a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise [men] shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent [men] shall be hid.
- John 12:39 "Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. 41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
- 42 ¶ Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God."
- Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."
- Romans 1:26 "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."
