2V "I am the LORD thy God[1]" where the Hebrew word for god appears as ’elōheḵā (אֱלֹהֶ֑֔יךָ) here instead of the more common Elohiym(אֱלֹהִ֑ים). |
2V 2 "have brought thee out ... of bondage." We see "have brought thee" in the Hebrew was not merely as yatsa[2] But hōwṣêṯîḵā (הוֹצֵאתִ֛יךָ) consisting of HeyVavTzadikAlefTavYodKaf. |
3V "Thou shalt have no other gods"[1] In Jordan Peterson's Episode 9 they spoke of many gods today but they never mentioned the gods who decide what is "good and evil" for them in the courts as the ruling judges of the people. They do not know how much like Rome they have become with their free bread through the legal charity of the State instead of the fervent charity of the people which made America great. |
4V "any graven image[3] which is from pacal[4] consisting of the same letters PeiSamechLamed meaning to cut, hew. |
5V "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: |
V6 "mercy ... love me, and keep my commandments. |
V7 "not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain"[5] |
V8 "Remember the sabbath" is about working and earning a rest and not borrowing your rest and creating debt. |
V9 "do all thy work" first and being prepared so you do not have to go into the bondage of Egypt. |
11V "blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." the term hallowed is not merely qadash[6] but wayqaddəšêhū (וַֽיְקַדְּשֵֽׁהוּ׃) VavYodKufDaletShinHeyVav. |
V12 "Honour[7] thy father and thy mother" See the Corban that made the word of God to none effect because you do no more ought for your parents. |
V13 The Hebrew for "not kill" is basically two words (לא תרצח׃ ס) which is nor murder[8] and seems to mean unjustly take the life of others. It is also said to be a verb in the second person which is the cause for the Tav. |
V14 To "not commit adultery" means not adulterating anything, not merely your marriage relationship. But it would include even your relationship by faith with the Creator God. Most of the time when you see adultery in the Bible it is referring to national adultery or "idolatrous worship". And since "covetousness... is idolatry"[9] this would nececarily include consuming the benefits and dainties at the tables of rulers which is a snare according to the warnings of David, Paul, Peter[10] and all the prophets, because they are the covetous practices which is both adultery and idolatry. This would include the the benefits offered by men in governments who exercise authority one over the other forbidden by Jesus.[11] |
V15 "not steal" is to not take from others by force or by fraud which may include false witness. |
V16 "not bear false witness" against others. |
V17 "Thou shalt not covet" which would include covetous practices like legal charity and the dainties served at the tables of rulers or Benefactors which are a snare and a trap. |
These five statements from "not kill" to "not bear false witness" will not be kept if you covet what is your neighbors. And |
23V "make unto you gods of gold which were central banks holding the wealth of the people like the Golden calf. |
25V "of hewn stone"[12] ... "thou hast polluted it." from the root word chalal[13] but appears as wattəḥallehā (וַתְּחַֽלְלֶֽהָ׃). |

Ten Statements of God
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God[1], which have brought thee[2] out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods[1] before me.[14]
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image[3], or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting[15] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain[5]; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.[5]
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.[6]
12 Honour[7] thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Second Half of the Ten Statements
13 Thou shalt not kill.[8]
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.[16]
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet[17] thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
People afraid
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
Fear Not
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
Altars gods and steps
23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24 An altar[18] of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings[19], thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar[18] of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone[12]: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.[20]
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar[18], that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
