Banking on one purse to bind the people with a golden calf has been part of the schemes of the Nimrods and Cains of the world who were the benefactors and fathers of the earth since the beginning. Jesus was not a socialist.

The Warning

"Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse" (Proverbs 1:14)

The common storehouse or "one purse" concept of society is one rooted in the philosophy of Socialism. It is about benefiting from society having a common wealth where people elect or subject themselves to rulers who exercise authority over everyone's purse or wealth. It is where someone has the power to redistribute the wealth of the individual other than the the individual.

The means of production is the individual. In primitive societies each individual shared what they gathered or produced. That voluntary sharing created natural bonds with in society developing a character within society that included the choice of sacrifice, and honor of trust.

Other societies cultivated authority and oppression by bulling contributions with an exercising authority producing sloth, avarice, and envy. They usually obtain that power by consent or participation and application claiming to be Benefactors of the people.

One problem with this is that it is a Welfare that often becomes a snare. It also makes the people dependent and weak rather than strengthening them as individuals or as a society.

But the worst part is that it is a covetous practice which will curse the Children and make Merchandise of the people.

The one purse concept in society is anywhere that the people or their leaders can access another man's production or purse without his specific consent. The golden calf of Israel was one form of this but also almost any central treasury of fiat money system or welfare scheme.

Mammon means entrusted wealth or right to the production of another.

Covetous Practices of picking our neighbor's pocket. Of course Security doesn't work except to snare you and make you Merchandise and curse children!

All systems of socialism or communism including anarcho communism and even welfare through taxation is a One purse social and political scheme which becomes a snare for the people bringing them into an unsecured system of social security, brings them into bondage and will eventually make them a surety for debt, literally merchandise and curses their children.

The New Testament preaches against such systems as something God hates.

God has always advocated a private ownership of the means of production by the individual and their families[1]

Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ all preached a form of government that operated by public servants that depended on charity and the perfect law of liberty which set men free rahter than force, fear, and violence used by the world.
"Bishops, presbyters(Elder), and deacons occupy in the church the same positions as those which were occupied by Aaron, his sons, and the Levites in the temple." Jerome, Ep. 146.
The Levites, who were the Church in the wilderness, held all things common so were they like the one purse that runs toward evil? The answer is "No" because they were not to "lay wait for blood" or "lurk privily for the innocent without cause".
The purpose of the early Church and the Church in the wilderness was to serve and they were both restricted as bondservants of God.
Socialism in the sense of having one purse is not a problem among saints and people who repent and seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Yet, the Levites, who were a part of this system of self government called the Kingdom of God, owned land in common[2] which was like the ministers of the early Church who also owned all things common [3] which allowed for the charitable practices of that christian society through the perfect law of liberty of the people, by the people, and for the people.[4]

It was the Nimrods and Cains of the world who were the benefactors of force rather than charity and fathers of the earth who sought the One purse concept of socialism. Jesus was not a socialist. The Church legally defined is "one form of government" that does not rule over the people. It is to provide a charitable Corban that makes the word of God to effect and sets the captive free.

Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood,[5] let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:[6]

14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:[7]

16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.[8]

17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. [9]

18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.[10]

19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.[11]

20 Wisdom[12] crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;[13]

25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

32 For the turning away of the simple[14] shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Not so Secure Socialism

There are two types of welfare and two types of Sacrifice just like their are two types of welfare. One is by force and the other is by charity.

The dainties of rulers, like the tables that were supposed to be for their welfare was a snare and trap.[15] As covetous practices[16] they are the idolatry[17] that makes us merchandise and curse children to say nothing of returning the masses to the Bondage of Egypt.

Knife to thy throat

We should never develop an appetite to eat at the table of rulers who exercise authority one over the other[18] because that practice is clearly covetous and therefore idolatry.[17]

Since, those rulers only takes from our neighbors' goods which is one of those deeds of the Nicolaitan and the error[19] of Balaam that God hates and Jesus told us to not be that way.

If we find ourself entangled again in the snare of the wicked we can put a knife to our own throat as we repent and seek the way of righteousness.

From the earliest times the power and possession of tyrants have enticed the people with gifts and gratuities. Cain, Nimrod, Pharaoh and Herod. Historians like Polybius, philosophers like Plutarch, all the prophets and Apostles have been issuing their warnings the people of coveting their benefits of rulers.

Comments
Proverbs 23:1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee:
2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.[20]
4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.[21]
8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words but the fool will not hear.
10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:[22]

Both David and Paul warned[23] us that those tables, which were welfare systems of legal charity like the Corban of the Pharisees are a snare because, as Peter said such covetous practices makes the people merchandise and will curse children.

Having a desire for the dainties, benefits, and welfare of these rulers who call themselves benefactors is having an appetite for what the Bible calls the wages of unrighteousness.

The modern Church tells the people in their own wisdom[24] that is okay to desire that welfare provided by the unrighteous mammon but Jesus said it is not to be that way with us.

Verse 6 of Proverbs 23 tells us not to eat the bread nor even desire those benefits that are sweat in the mouth but sour in the belly of those who covet their neighbor's goods through deceit. That sourness will cause us to vomit it up.

We should not listen to the modern Church and its false religion nor eat the feast[25] provided by those covetous practices. People today have need of the "baptism of repentance" if they desire the "remission of sin".

It was the freewill offerings and the charity of Israel, the early Church and America in the beginning which made the people strong, not the legal charity of socialism.

  1. Leviticus 25:10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
  2. Joshua 14:4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell [in], with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
  3. Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
  4. Acts 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
  5. When you pay taxes you pay with your own blood and sweat. Understanding what the ancient Altars and sacrifices were representing the blood and sweat of the people in a system of freewill offerings rather than force.
  6. If you all have one purse you can benefit because everyone has to pay into the treasury to provide for you in time of need. It allows the government to force your offerings. This is why the Corban of the Pharisees made the word of God to none effect.
  7. Here is the warning not to go that way.
  8. Democracy lead to Socialism which leads to communism and of course totalitarianism which will certainly bring in the element of theft when the government goes beyond its collective right. Certainly almost all covetousness leads to theft which is violence.
But in the beginning socialism is a common purse of society by consent.
  9. We think we will benefit if everyone has to pay in or do their share but we will be captured by our consent to such a covetous idea.
  10. As we judge so shall we be judged.
  11. This is why Jesus forbid his followers to be like the socialist governments of the world at that time. Was Jesus a socialist? What did He say about men who call themselves Benefactors or the Fathers of the earth.
  12. Wisdom: Heb. Wisdoms, that is, Excellent wisdom
  13. Cain, Nimrod, Egypt and Mystery Babylon were and are all socialist systems. They all created systems that allowed people to be biting one another.

  15. Table as a snare
Psalms 69:22-23 “Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake."”
Romans 11:9 “And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:”
Proverbs 23:1 "When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee: 2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. 3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat."
Exodus 23:32 "Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. 33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee."
Exodus 34:12 "Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:"
Deuteronomy 7:16 "And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that [will be] a snare unto thee."
Judges 2:2 "And ye shall make no league [covenant] with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?"
Proverbs 1:10 "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."
Proverbs 6:2 “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.” Swear not
Luke 21:34 "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth."
1 Timothy 6:9 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
  16. Jesus against covetousness
Mark 7:9 "And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." See Corban.
Mark 7:20 "And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."
Luke 12:15 "And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth."
Luke 16:14 "And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God."
Luke 21:34 "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth."
Matthew 19:17 "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."
John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."
John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love."
  17. 17.0 17.1 Covetousness is idolatry
Colossians 3:5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:"
Ephesians 5:5 "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."
1 Corinthians 5:10 "Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."
  18. Not exercise authority
Matthew 20:25 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you:..."
Mark 10:42 "But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you:..."
Luke 22:25 "And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye [shall] not [be] so:..."
  19. The way of error
    2 Peter 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
Jude 1:11 "Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots(not "unspotted" like Pure Religion) in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds [they are] without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;"
Revelation 2:14-17 "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication ("to permit one’s self to be drawn away by another into idolatry"). 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it]."
Ezekiel 16:49 "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy."
  20. These "deceitful meats" provide at the tables of rulers are a metaphor for the welfare that was a snare spoken of in the Bible by David and Paul. The gifts, gratuities and benefits we were warned about by Plutarch who said that benefaction from rulers would ruin the people and destroy liberty.
  21. These dainties are Instrumentum regni of rulers.
  22. The Fatherless are those who make the state their Fathers and Christ did warn us of the same concerning the Fathers of the earth.
  23. Psalms 69:22 "Let their table <07979> become a snare before them: and [that which should have been] for [their] welfare, [let it become] a trap."
Romans 11:9 "And David saith, Let their table<5132> be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:"
  24. Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool [is] right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel [is] wise.
Isaiah 5:21 Woe unto [them that are] wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
  25. Amos 5:21, Amos 8:10, Nahum 1:15.
