Curse of knowledge
"Curse of knowledge" refers to a cognitive bias first coined in a 1989 paper by economists Colin Camerer, George Loewenstein, and Martin Weber.
The Curse of knowledge or curse of expertise suggest that once you know something well, it becomes hard to imagine what it is like not to know it. Unless someone is very humble they may not be able to put themselves in the position of the student.
Or they may overestimate how much other people already understand. As a result they may under-explain, skip essential steps, or use vocabulary that in adequately describes your understanding so that the student remains confused or bewilder.
When you do not limit the phrases Curse of knowledge or curse of expertise used by Camerer, Loewenstein, Weber and others could be extended to a disability or unwillingness to see the errors in what they have been taught and are trying to teach others when new evidence is presented that their original ideas, perception, or understanding is wrong.
Often other phrases are used to describe this "curse" of vain expertise with phrases like belief perseverance, confirmation bias, and motivated reasoning but the knowledge coupled with vanity is still a curse.
These all produce or are the result of knowledge that will generate a "Cognitive dissonance" that arises when more than one thing in your mind do not fit with others ideas in your mind.
So, this mental dissonance occurs when two beliefs, or a belief and new contradictory evidence or knowledge produce a conflict. People do not sit comfortably with these contradiction. They will instictivlytry to reduce this discomfort.
One way to reduce this discomfort is to deny one of the conflicting ideas but that denial is choosing to sit in darkness.
Curses and cursive
In researching this curse of knowledge I came across the phrase cursive knowledge in a transcript on the subject which I thought was an interesting expression of the idea so I looked it up.
According to AI "Cursive knowledge" may include two completely different concepts:
1. Cursive writing "a popular homeschool(?) handwriting curriculum."[1]The name of the book "Cursive Knowledge" is a deliberate pun on the “curse of knowledge” which is the tendency of experts to assume others already share their background.
2. Curse of knowledge which is a famous psychological bias that comes when someone who is an expert on a topic or subject matter forgets what it is like for a beginner.
They unconsciously assume that everyone else already has the background info to understand what they want to share. This may make their explanations confusing.
While the phrase "cursive knowledge" may have been an error in the transcript or a slip of the tongue there was a certain truth to the expression. It is the acceptance of an idea that you are an expert that curses an individual with a built in bias that may effect their competence and understanding.
If "cursive knowledge" is thing Cursive thinking continues when an individual depends upon this "curse of knowledge" and the associated bias to justify their position.
The word Curse comes from the Old English word curs, meaning a ban, wrath, or malediction. Its ancient origins often runs from generation to generation.
As we examine the term Cursive we see it comes from the Medieval Latin word cursivus, meaning "running" or "flowing" (from currere, to run). The letters "run" together across the page without lifting the pen.
The two words seem at first not to be connected having different origins but their meaning can be used to emphasize or bring attention to concepts as we saw with the title of the book Cursive Knowledge.
Eating of the tree of knowledge brings a curse or curses which automatically accepting the idea that eating of that tree was a good thing. But it was not a blessing the flowed from that vain choice but a curse or curses.
In Genesis 3:14–15 The Serpent is cursed or suffers the consequences imposed by God and His righteousness. The serpent was to crawl on its belly and eat dust which foretold lifelong enmity between the serpent and the woman and her offspring.
in Genesis 3:16 God stated He would severely increase the difficulty and pain in childbearing and noted that woman's desire would be for her husband, who would rule over her.
While, in Genesis 3:17–19 we may see because Adam listened to his wife and ate the forbidden fruit, the ground was cursed, bringing forth thorns and thistles, and requiring painful toil by the sweat of his own brow until he returns to dust.
Curse and Christ
Christ often resorted to parables to share His divine message.
In psychology this famous cognitive bias called the "curse of knowledge" can be a curse to the teacher or the student.
The "background info" is the history of the information and it's consequence in, for, and two society when it fails to see the whole truth.
Proverbs 13:20 "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed."
Welfare through the power[2] of the State was rejected by Melchisedec[3], Abraham, and Moses, praying[4] to the Welfare State for their benefits, dainties, and rewards of unrighteousness is forbidden by the prophets, Jesus the Christ, and His apostles. Because that is the covetous practice that makes the word of God to none effect, returns everyman to the bondage of Egypt[5]/Mystery Babylon[6] as merchandise[7] and curses their children.[8]

A little history is always better than none as long as you confess there is more to it than you know. Any blind spot in our thinking is still blindness.[10]

- ↑ The Error of Balaam and Babylon
- This Error is not new but is seen at the dawn of mankind. The idea that government should systematically provide individual welfare through governments that exercise authority is seen in Mesopotamia and Sumer with the Turtledove Goddess of welfare.
- Balaam was a prophet from Mesopotamia (Deuteronomy 23:4), a region that includes the ancient city of Babylon, and the ways of Cain, Nimrod, Abimelech, Pharaoh, and Caesar.
- The "error" or "doctrine" of Balaam refers to seeking financial gain, with an appetite for the Dainties of rulers (loving the "wages of unrighteousness") and teaching Israel to sin through idolatry and the immorality fornication and national adultery, often by advising the Moabites and Midianites to seduce Israelite men with the same type of whoredom we see with Mystery Babylon in Revelation 17:5 "And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."
- In the Book of Revelation, the "error of Balaam" is mentioned alongside the "doctrine of the Nicolaitans" and the "woman Jezebel" (often symbolic of Babylon the Great), suggesting a thematic link between a false religious influence, greed, idolatry, and the covetousness which makes men merchandise and entangles them again in the yoke of bondage.
- In summary, the "error" represents a greedy, idolatrous, and covetous influence over the hearts and minds of the masses under a stronge dellusion and a corrupt systems of covetous practices, including the symbolic Babylon of Revelation.

- The Fathers of the earth assume the natural role of the father of the family. Like the Conscripti Patri or the Patronus of Rome who become the benefactors of the masses offering them benefits and dainties from their civil tables of social welfare which are not only a snare, but destroy liberty, making the people merchandise. The Church established by Jesus would seek to have a daily ministration of Pure Religion through fervent charity.
