| "his offering shall be of fine flour" In the text we see missālətāh מִסָּלְתָּהּ֙ MemSamechLamedTavHey The root word is (sōleṯ סֹ֖לֶת). "The earliest appearance of סֹלֶת is in the hospitality scene of Genesis 18:6, where Sarah kneads “three seahs of fine flour” for Abraham’s divine visitors. The offering of the costlier, sifted flour rather than ordinary meal underscored generosity and honor. Similar language marks royal prosperity (1 Kings 4:22) and the predicted plenty that would end Samaria’s famine (2 Kings 7:1). Fine flour thus became shorthand for material blessing (cf. Ezekiel 16:13)." The word sal סַל SamechLamed is a basket. "The Hebrew noun סַל (sal) denotes a woven basket. Scripture employs the term fifteen times, spanning patriarchal history, priestly legislation, Nazarite ritual, and prophetic encounter. While the object is ordinary, its contexts consistently underscore divine provision, consecration, and covenant fellowship."[3] |
| Leviticus devotes an entire chapter to grain offering or meat offering in the King James version (or meal offering, Mincha) in the Bible which was a bloodless sacrifice of the finest flour, olive oil, and frankincense, seasoned with salt, offered to God as a symbol of dedication, thanksgiving, and recognition of His provision, often accompanying other sacrifices, representing the best of one's labor and anticipating Christ as the ultimate "Bread of Life"
• Unleavened cakes mixed or anointed with oil (Leviticus 2:1–7). • A memorial handful burnt on the altar, the remainder eaten by priests “in a most holy place” (Leviticus 2:9–10). • Perpetual accompaniment to daily burnt offerings (Exodus 29:40; Numbers 28:5). |
|
Because grain was basic sustenance, it is symbolically used as a dedication of our selves to the way of God. To dedicate grain finely grown into flour is an acknowledgement of our nature conforming to God as Provider through expressing fellowship with one another and God by worship of God by service through the third party of living stones of altars and a priest. |
| Oil and frankincense, an offering made by fire unto the LORD the priest shall burn[4] (קָטַר qatar)[5] |
| Shemen designates the liquid fat of the olive that was pressed from berries grown chiefly in the Judean highlands and along the coastal plain. Groves were so abundant that Israel could be described as “a land of olive oil” (Deuteronomy 8:8). |
| The Bible does not explicitly state that priests are mediators between God and man in the same way that Jesus Christ is described as the sole mediator. The Greek word for "mediator" is μεσίτης (mesitēs), which refers to someone who stands in the middle to reconcile two parties or secure the terms of a covenant. 1 Timothy 2:5 emphasizes that "there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," indicating that while priests may serve in a mediating role in certain contexts, Christ is the ultimate mediator. |

Meat offering
1 And when any will offer a meat offering[6][7] unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour(sōleṯ סֹ֖לֶת); and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense[8] thereon:
2 And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn (קָטַר qatar)[4] the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD:
3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
Bring an oblation
4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken(מַאֲפֵ֣ה) in the oven (תַנּ֑וּר), it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
5 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan(hammaḥăḇaṯ הַֽמַּחֲבַ֖ת), it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.
6 Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering.
7 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan (marḥešeṯ מַרְחֶ֖שֶׁת), it shall be made of fine flour with oil.
8 And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the LORD: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.
The priest shall take
9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn (קָטַר qatar)[4] it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn (קָטַר qatar)[4] no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire.
Not burnt
12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the LORD: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
With salt
13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
Oil and fire
15 And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering.
16 And the priest shall burn (קָטַר qatar)[4] the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
