Verse 1-8 Is the return of the righteous king of Peace according to the order of Melchisedec who was both priest and king. Jesus had been doing what John the Baptist had been doing from the beginning. He had been preaching the Kingdom of God was at hand and His righteousness while calling the people to repent, which is to say "think differently".
According to Jesus if we seek that kingdom and all that it included everything else we need would be provided. The masses would not believe that part of His Doctrine because they thought their temporal and secular governments and the emperors, political Fathers, and rulers who promised them a Pax Romana, with their law and order, along with their free bread and social welfare could save them.
They did not alway like the restriction and burden of allegiance and fealty but they feared the ideas of living by faith and hope and the did not believe or even think charity would be sufficient.
One of the things that was unique for Melchisedec was that he was both high priest and king. But his kingship was righteous and of peace because his government was a free one supported by the voluntary tithing of the Families who chose to follow and support his office. Only that type of system dependent upon freewill offerings alone allowed every natural father to *retain his possessions and remain free as both priest and king* of his family.**^[1]
The Bible tells us about the Nimrods, Pharaohs, Caesars and rulers who are each the “‭violent men enticeth their neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.” Proverbs 16:29-30 These are the rulers who are legally able to impose taxation upon a subject citizenry. Their systems of welfare and the dainties and benefits are snare and a trap that make the people human resources and curse their children with a perpetual yoke of bondage.
The Bible is about the government of the people, by the people and for the people. ^[2]
John the Baptist's father Zacharias had been a part of the government of Judea. John had apparently returned from Parthia. As a child he was endanger from the threat of Herod's political ambitions. Upon his return from exile he began to preach that people need to think differently about the tables of their welfare.
Herod and the Pharisees provided welfare for the care of the widows and orphans, the needy and infirm through a treasury filled with the sacrifices called corban but it was making the word of God to none effect because it depended upon the Fathers of earth who exercised authority one over the other.^[3]
Jesus and his disciples had been setting up a governmental system of health, education, and welfare for the care of the people but unlike the governments of the world which operates by force, fear, and fealty through oaths of allegiance the kingdom of God, by faith, hope, and charity.
People were and are more in love with their dogmas and doctrines and their religions that allow them to covet their neighbors life through the rulers who exercise authority. “‭10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right. ‭11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 23:10-11
The means and methods of Christ differed from that of the Pharisees and Rome and their Corban. Christ was the king of peace and like Moses ^[4] he relied upon freewill sacrifice and peace offerings.
Many would reject the doctrine of Jesus and those who followed the way of Christ and the Logos of Jesus and hold to the doctrines of men even to the persecution of those who rejected the covetous practices of the world of Herod's civil Law, the religiosly dogmatic pharisees, and the self-righteous Imperial Cult of Rome.
The Christians were legaly able to separate from the public religion of the world because of the wisdom of the word of God and the Sacrifice and logos of Jesus.
The kingdom of God is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people ^[2] and operates by love.
The kingdom of God is the opposite of any form of socialism and Jesus opposed those anti capitalist systems.
The kingdom of God operates according to the perfect law of liberty without censoring heretics or persecuting them but instead loved them enough to share the logos or Word of God with all, often a great personal risk.
Questions
Do you live entirely by faith, hope, and charity?
Are you seeking the kingdom of God where people live by faith, hope, and charity or the wages of unrighteousness from men in other governments that exercise authority?
Are you emotionally clinging to the doctrines of men?
Are you eating from the tree of knowledge to determine doctrines of men that you require other people to believe and repeat?
Paul warned to turn away^[5] from those who were engaging immoral practices are we dividing people by imposing private interpretations and doctrines?

Nigh to Jerusalem

[1] And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

Find colt

[2] And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt ^[6] tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

[3] And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

[4] And they went their way, and found the colt ^[6] tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

[5] And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt? ^[6]

[6] And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

Brought the colt

[7] And they brought the colt ^[6] to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. ^[6]

[8] And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

Hosanna

[9] And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna^[7]; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

[10] Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna^[7] in the highest.

[11] And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

No figs

[12] And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

[13] And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

[14] And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Moneychangers and tables

[15] And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers^[8], and the seats of them that sold doves;

Carry vessels

[16] And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

[17] And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.^[9]

Plot assassination

[18] And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

[19] And when even was come, he went out of the city.

[20] And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

[21] And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

[22] And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

[23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

[24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Stand and pray

[25] And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

[26] But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.^[10]

[27] And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

[28] And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

[29] And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

[30] The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

[31] And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

[32] But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
