Weightier matters

A maxim, "Ignorantia juris non excusat." Is translated, "Ignorance of law does not excuse."
The key word here is "juris" which means what is "just, right, and fair".
The other Latin term "legis", also translated "law", mean the rules of a legal system. The "legal systems" which we may call "law" are ever changing because they are only created by men through contracts, covenants, and constitutions by consent. Many things may give evidence of consent.
The Law should be just.'
The Law of Nature is unchangeable in a cause and effect universe. It is not subject to the opinion of man, legislatures, or rulers.
Contracts are induced through evidence of intent. They may result from expressed words or deeds. If you desire benefits through covetous practices you may become merchandise or cursed with debt obligations as a surety.

There are some who want to turn the Torah which an attempt to explain the Law of Nature and nature's God into a legal system through private interpretation.
That, of course, is a mistake or sin as Christ tried to explain to the Pharisees.

Weightier matters

I have asked hundreds of people and pastors all across America "What did Jesus list as the "weightier matters"?

No one could list them off based on their reading or study of the scriptures. You would think that every minister would take a special note concerning instructions from the mouth of Christ listing what he considered to be the "more important matters".

The "scribes and Pharisees" were condemned as hypocrites because they omitted these but the Modern Church seems to not know them and certainly fails to attend to them.

Matthew 23:23 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

Early Israel

Early Israel was a government without a king until the people decided to elect someone in 1 Samuel 8 to be their commander in chief. The rejection of God by the voice of the people who elected to have a ruler who could exercise authority was a rejection of God and His way.

If we were willing to see in 1 Samuel 8 the foolishness of the people was the result of the people not wanting to take the time and energy to attend to those weightier matters which Christ saw was essential for those seeking the kingdom of God we might understand what it means to repent.

They wanted a ruler and eventually their dainties to do for them and provide for them what they should do for themselves. They were slothful and wend under tribute as they elected Saul just like people had done with Nimrod and Cain.

Reason

John the Baptist and Jesus who was the Christ of Judea both preached the Kingdom of God and His righteousness according to the word which is the Logos, which means right reason.

The Kingdom of God is one form of government which offers a table and daily ministration that is not a snare, does not make people merchandise nor does it curse children with debt.

The Pharisees were a part of the government in Judea and Jesus condemned them because they were not attending to the "law", which included "judgment, mercy and faith". This is what is meant by seeking righteousness not just for yourself but for your neighbor.

Philosophers

Even Plato said "If you do not take an interest in the affairs of your government, then you are doomed to live under the rule of fools." and repeated that sentiment with "The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." So, Plato and Plutarch and Polybius warned that if the masses develop an appetite for benefits the will [[degenerate] into perfect savages going back under despots and tyrants.

And warnings

But also Paul and Peter both warned that our covetous practices would make us surety for debt and little more than human resources. They often quoted Proverbs about one purse, Psalms about tables that should have been for your welfare that are a Snare, and the prophets.

Because the people lack knowledge of their own history and laws they often do not know what it means to repent.

Repentance was thinking a different way and faith was the compulsion of the heart that made us persevere in that other way.

Question

Does the Church you go to attend to the "weightier matters"?

The Pharisees, Sadducees, Zealots, and Essenes were political parties and the temples of Herod and Rome were government buildings.
The Pharisees were caught up in their rituals and False religion which had become a public religion through a system of Corban Christ condemned.
They had supported Herod's system of government welfare and altered the nature of Corban of Moses in Judea making the word of God to none effect. Modern Christians have done the same by the covetous practices of looking to the Benefactors who exercise authority to be the political Fathers of the earth rejecting The Way of Christ and the early Church. They need to repent and seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Christ commanded that the people sit down in a network of tens, 50's and 100's so that they could love one another and attend to the weightier matters of Jesus according to the perfect law of liberty.

Let us gather together in one blessed "nation" Network attending to the Weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith which include caring for the needs of our neighbors and the widows and orphans of our society through Pure Religion in matters of health, education, and welfare. We are NOT to provide for the needy of society through the Covetous Practices and the men who call themselves benefactors but who exercise authority one over the other like the socialists do.

The Way of Christ was like neither the way of the world of Rome nor the governments of the gentiles who depend on those fathers of the earth through force, fear and fealty who deliver the people back in bondage again like they were in Egypt. Christ's ministers and true Christians do not depend upon systems of social welfare that force the contributions of the people like the corban of the Pharisees which made the word of God to none effect. Many people have been deceived to go the way of Balaam and the Nicolaitan and out of The Way of Christ and have become workers of iniquity.

The Christian conflict with Rome in the first century Church appointed by Christ was because they would not apply to the fathers of the earth for their free bread but instead relied upon a voluntary network providing a daily ministration to the needy of society through Faith, Hope, and Charity by way of freewill offerings of the people, for the people, and by the people through the perfect law of liberty in Free Assemblies according to the ancient pattern of Tuns or Tens as He commanded.

The modern Christians are in need of repentance.


"Follow me!" —Jesus the Christ.


Tribal ownership in early Israel was neither held collectively as in a socialist state nor by a central chief, president or State body but by the head of each individual family.

There was no rulers like Nimrod, nor Patronus like Caesar in Rome nor centralized government like the "father of the earth" in that uniquely free society except the natural fathers, who were the heads of those individual families. It was a true system of free dominion.

  • "In those days [there was] no king in Israel, [but] every man did [that which was] right in his own eyes." Judges 17:6

Such a voluntary system of free dominion and self-government of, for and by the people only works with a moral people who willing to diligently love their neighbor, their neighbor's family and their neighbor's rights as much as they love their own. Without that love and a willingness to sacrifice oneself for others the system operating by and through the "perfect law of liberty" will collapse and fail. Of course all other systems of government without that love and charity will also fail eventually if the people fail to attend to the "weightier matters" of Christ --- "of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:".

The early Church and the Intentional Community it served was composed of people and their families who having repented from the covetous practices of the world and the sloth of the past to diligently networked together through faith, hope and charity and that perfect law of liberty seeking that one "form of Government" and the righteousness of God.
