What was the sin in the camp of the golden calf? Was it idolatry? Is Idolatry covetousness?[1]
They were setting up covetous practices, a partially common purse, a central treasury, that could lead to the Corban of the Pharisees and a returning to Egypt and the way Nicolaitans as all socialist states do.
God endowed man with choice and the power to choose.[2]
We call that individual power of choice rights and liberty.
If we give that choice to others or the power to make choices for us, then we mock God. When the people put their wealth in this institution, this reserve fund set up by Aaron they no longer had direct power of choice over that wealth God had given them when they left the bondage of Egypt.

Right and Responsibility

Rights are responsibilities because the word "right" or "rights" as a noun is defined as "that which is morally correct, just, or honorable" and responsibility can be defined as what is expected or a thing that one is required to do to be morally correct, just, or honorable".

Taking back rights or just maintaining free access to natural rights requires every individual to exercise their responsibilities for themselves, to their community, and by their cooperation with society with the same diligence and enthusiasm as they have for the enjoyment of their rights.

Natural law is the law that all legal system must exist within. In that Law of Nature and Nature's God man is endowed with the right to choose.

Some listed rights

  • Civil rights are such as belong to every citizen of the state or country, or, in a wider sense to all its inhabitants, and are not connected with the organization or the administration of government. They include the rights of property, marriage, protection by laws, freedom of contract, trial by jury, etc.” [3]

Natural rights are a thing of nature and therefore are inherited through nature from generation to generation. Slavery or bondage is also inherited.

Man may be endowed by his Creator with certain rights but his pro-creators may undermine his access to those natural rights before you are even conceived.

Having a right is not the same thing as enjoying a right. There are many things in a hostile world that would deprive the individual of the enjoyment of your natural rights.

If you will not pursue your responsibilities you will soon not enjoy your rights because every right has a correlative responsibility that gives it life, purpose, and meaning.

If you engage in oppression of others you may be justly oppressed. If you make covenant with other obligations and subjugation ma result.

Pacta servanda sunt

Warnings and Wisdoms

Many like Abraham, Moses, Samuel, Polybius, Plutarch, Peter and Paul contemplated the road to or from freedom, they warned us what could bring liberty and what would destroy it. If we had an appetite for the wages of unrighteousness we would be entangled in the yoke of bondage to the point of becoming merchandise and cursing our children. Christ and John the Baptist gave us the key to liberty under God but the Modern Christian who regularly engage in covetous practices seems opposed to the practices of the early Church.

To maintain your rights you must care about your neighbor's rights, life, and liberty as much as your own. That God-given responsibility to your fellow man is what is considered in Natural Law to be "morally correct, just, or honorable". That is the practice of Pure Religion unspotted by the world which is seen in the foundation of The Ten Laws of ancient Israel and other laws such as the Law of the Maat.

Natural Law and legal rights are two types of rights: legal rights are those bestowed onto a person by a given legal system usually as a result of contracts within a Social contract, while natural rights are those not contingent upon the laws, customs, or beliefs of any particular culture or government, and therefore universal and inalienable. They are inherent and considered endowed by Nature and Nature's God, the God of creation rather than the gods many spoke of by the apostle Paul.

  • "In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all — security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again. " — Sir Edward Gibbon (1737-1794), author of The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, wrote tellingly of the collapse of Athens, On ancient Athens.

The theory of Natural Law is closely related to the theory of natural rights. During the Age of Enlightenment, Natural Law theory challenged the divine right of kings, and became an alternative justification for the establishment of a Social contract, positive law, and government.

Rights are endowed by God but it will take a miracle to keep them.
"Freedom is the Right to Choose, the Right to create for oneself the alternatives of Choice. Without the possibility of Choice, and the exercise of Choice, a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing.” Archibald MacLeish
Redistribution of that which is produced by the sweat, blood, and life of the individual through force rather than the choice of charity diminishes freedom and degenerates the souls of men.

Ultimately if you want your rights back you must take back your responsibilities to your fellow man which brings us to the definition of Religion two hundred years ago when all social welfare was by charity as required by Christ and not by the rule of force like Caesar, Pharaoh, Nimrod or Cain.

Property is what is proper. If you invest your labor and life into something you have honestly obtained and altering it increase its value it is proper and right that you get to enjoy the value you have imparted to the object or place with your sweat and blood and effort. If someone comes to take that value away without your consent then you have a proper right to defend your life which is now part of the objector thing attached to the place. If you live among other men who have the same values and virtues they may mutually help defend what is properly yours against those who would seize it by force.

Private property is what is properly possessed by an individual. Without private property in the hands of the individual, which is capitalism, all men are slaves to the bully whether he is an individual, group or society.

The primary means of production is a man's labor which is guided by his own mind and heart within the allotted time of his life. If these things are not exclusive to the individual then he is not free.

Man was given dominion over the planet[4] and that which lives upon for the purposes of dressing and keeping it.[5] That is as far as his divine license may reach. He has no right to rule over others or abuse the earth by not dressing and keeping it.

If man was not to rule over his fellowman then the natural state of man was an anarchy. But anarchy is only one small part of the relationship of man and his individual dominion. Anarchy in itself does not guarantee "proper justice" or freedom.

If man is commanded to "keep it" there must be a distinct possibility that he may lose it. Man's right to dominion is shared individually, held individually. For anyone to imagine that men as a collective hold dominion there can be no individual choice. Without choice there is no freedom and man is nothing but an instrument, a thing.

In order for there to be "choice" there must be private property.

Some actually believe that property is theft but in truth the refusal to accept the right to private property is both theft and enslavement. Any right of society in the form of a collective or the state to allocate property or the means of production is slavery and bondage of the mind and body of the individual.

If a seed falls from a tree in the wilderness and someone plants it, cultivates it, protects it until it bears fruit it is proper that he may take the fruit for his own use. Only he would have the power of allocation for without the expenditure of his toil and time there would be no fruit.

That is private property. If a community says it is not proper for him to have property rights to what he has produced then the community is ruling over his means of production, his labor, his toil and time, and that community is not an anarchist community.

Cain and Nimrod created anarchist communities.

Some think that anarchism entails anti-capitalism. Others believe that "If they genuinely wish to eliminate the state, they are anarchists, but they aren’t really capitalists, no matter how much they want to claim they are."[6]

We might argue that they do not understand capitalism which is understandable since for most people there are no working examples of true capitalism in existence today and hasn't been since 1933 if not 1913. But the real problem is that Anarchism does not mean there is no State but that there are no "rulers".

There are examples of States where there were no rulers except within the individual family. These would be states or governments where the leaders are titular.

There are examples of such governments in history and their success is dependent upon the social virtues of the people.

5. "But the followers of Carpocrates and Epiphanes think that wives should be common property. Through them the worst calumny has become current against the Christian name. This fellow Epiphanes, whose writings I have at hand, was a son of Carpocrates and his mother was named Alexandria." Clement of Alexandria "On Marriage" Miscellanies, Book III, CHAPTER II, 5,

"This is what he [Epiphanes] says, then, in the book Concerning Righteousness: .... But the laws, by pre-supposing the existence of private property, cut up and destroyed the universal equality decreed by the divine law." CHAPTER II, 6,

No State shall

Article I, section 10, clause 1. It states:

  • "No State shall... make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any ... Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts"

By that the government would have to treat all property purchased with anything other than gold and silver as not actually purchased and the courts would be cognizable of that fact. That would leave every citizen of the United States who thinks he has property rights with only a "legal title".

Anyone with only a legal title has no right to the "beneficial interest" or use of the property and therefore is not the true owner of the property. So when you think the government is violating your property rights they are actually not. They are protecting the rights of the "true owner" which is not the citizen of the United States holding "legal title".

In other words if you want to know why you think you have no actual property rights to the beneficial interest of your property it is because you don't.

The government is not usually violating your property rights when you think they are. They cannot give you back your property rights either because they can make no law impairing the Obligation of Contracts.

The following chapter will explain the obligation of contracts that bars your access to rights you wish to enjoy. There are people on your side but you have to seek to know the whole truth and provide for it. There are other contracts that bind you but we should start with this concerning property rights.
