Curse of debt
Nations around the world spend the future of the next generation on graft and corruption, promising the masses deceitful dainties who have an appetite for benefits at the expenses of others.
2 Peter 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
The curse of coveting
Have you cursed your children with covetous practices?
What were we told in the Old Testament about desiring to benefit by taking from our neighbor?[1]
Brute beasts
Are the "brute beasts" of 2 Peter the same as the perfect savages of Polybius and his "masses" who have become accustomed to living at the expenses of others and depending for their livelihood on the property of others?
"But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;" 2 Peter 2:12
What did Jesus tell us about desiring benefits for ourselves by taking from our neighbor?[2]
How do we obtain those benefits, those wages of unrighteousness, without asking our rulers to take from our neighbor with an exercising authority?[3]
What is this warning of the Apostle Peter really all about?
Born in debt
Every child born in the United States is born in debt.
Every citizen of this country or any other country that is in debt is a "surety" for the debt of those governments to which they are citizens.
Every nation is in debt.
This debt is because people desire to take their rest or enjoy the benefits of their labor or their neighbor's labor before the work is actually done.
In truth that is the real violation of the precept of the Sabbath which was a symbol of the way more than a special day.
If you are a surety for debt created by your governments you are not a keeper of the precept expressed by God's Ten Statements, especially the precept concerning working first before you take the benefit, called the "Sabbath".
The covetous covenants
Debt is usually the bondage that results from contracts, but in the case of government the debt is usually due to the covetous practices of the people and the offer of gifts, gratuities and benefits by men who call themselves Benefactors.
Those agreements are another rejection of the precepts of the Ten Statements of God and the wisdom of the prophets of the past.
The modern Christians are led by a blind[4] modern Church and cannot hear the words of Jesus.[2]
They have believed a lie and accepted a strong delusion, so they do not hear or understand the words of Moses concerning coveting.[1]
Such covetous practices makes the people a surety for debt and literally Merchandise as Peter warned and is a violation of the Ten Commandments:
- Exodus 20:17 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour’s."
- Deuteronomy 5:21 "Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any [thing] that [is] thy neighbour’s."
- Romans 13:9 "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
The Bite that binds
Can it be called love of neighbor if we send men of authority to our neighbor's house to take from our neighbor for our benefit and welfare?
"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite[5] and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another." Galatians 5:14
We the people have become slaves in a free land, human resources, because the saw their neighbor as a human resource.
The people of the world are again entangled again in the elements of the world and have returned to the bondage of Egypt because they were willing to sell their brother into bondage and would not hear their cries of anguish.[6]
All the prophets and the apostle consistently warned us of these systems that tempt the wantonness of the people with the wages of unrighteousness. How they weaken society with their dainties and deceitful meat.[7] The warning consent not has been ignored for decades and the people run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.[8]
"The masses continue with an appetite for benefits and the habit of receiving them by way of a rule of force and violence. The people, having grown accustomed to feed at the expense of others and to depend for their livelihood on the property of others... institute the rule of violence; [9] and now uniting their forces massacre, banish, and plunder,[10] until they degenerate again into perfect savages and find once more a master and monarch." [11] [12]
- Polybius saw the downfall of the republic by way of their free bread and welfare a 150 years before the first Emperor of Rome and 175 years before the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ who opposed these same systems of free bread at your neighbor's expense.
- The authoritarian State often uses force and violence to become the Benefactors of the people if the covet what is their neighbors'. They make a social contract where one class of citizen is forced to provide for another class through "legal charity" which is not true charity. The writings of the Apostles warned along with countless passages of ancient writings of the prophets including Proverbs 23 which warned them about what Christ forbid which was the covetous practices of socialist forms of government.
The Curse and the Contract
Why are we subject to the ordinances of men?
Why are we under tribute?
Mankind has consistently gone into bondage and under the authority of other men who make laws, compelling offerings, regulate the lives of the people. They become subject by application to obtain benefits at the expense of their neighbor, and their neighbor's children, who will have to pay it off.
This is why Exodus 20:17 tells us clearly:
- "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour’s."
Desiring benefits at the expense of others is the "wages of unrighteousness". It is the essence of wantonness and the damnation of society. Not only the Bible warns against it over and over, but historians like Polybius and Plutarch.
Many people today want to cancel or say they will cancel student debt. What they are actually doing is transferring the debt incurred by people who were provided a service to a people who received no such benefits.
It is one group taking a bite out of another.
- “And to you who are troubled [contracted][13] rest [tolerable captivity][14] with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,” (2 Thessalonian 1:7)
"According to all the works which they have done since the day that God brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day the people have returned to bondage."[15] The people in the camp of the golden calf (at the foot of Mt. Sinai) were going back into bondage. In Egypt, all gold was in the treasury and they were bound under a central authority of that government. The people were no longer free but bound and their loyalty is secured.
- “He who contracts, knows, or ought to know, the quality of the person with whom he contracts, otherwise he is not excusable.”[16]
It is that power of contract that has allowed men to return to bondage, and ignorance can be no excuse for those who chose to receive benefits at the expense of their neighbor.
- “No State shall… impairing the obligation of contracts”[17]
- “From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”[18]
We curse our children with debt through our covetous practices, which makes them a surety for debt and little more than merchandise.

- ↑ An alternate translation in context, "9. For no sooner had the knowledge of the jealousy and hatred existing in the citizens against them which is replaced by democracy, emboldened some one to oppose the government by word or deed, than he was sure to find the whole people ready and prepared to take his side. Having then got rid of these rulers by assassination or exile, they do not venture to set up a king again, being still in terror of the injustice to which this led before; nor dare they intrust the common interests again to more than one, considering the recent example of their misconduct: and therefore, as the only sound hope left them is that which depends upon themselves, they are driven to take refuge in that; and so changed the constitution from an oligarchy to a democracy, and took upon themselves the superintendence and charge of the state. And as long as any survive who have had experience of oligarchical supremacy and domination, they regard their present constitution as a blessing, and hold equality and freedom as of the utmost value. But as soon as a new generation has arisen, and the democracy has descended to their children’s children, long association weakens their value for equality and freedom, and some seek to become more powerful than the ordinary citizens; and the most liable to this temptation are the rich. (which degenerates into rule of corruption and violence, only to be stopped by a return to despotism.) So when they begin to be fond of office, and find themselves unable to obtain it by their own unassisted efforts and their own merits, they ruin their estates, while enticing and corrupting the common people in every possible way. By which means when, in their senseless mania for reputation, they have made the populace ready and greedy to receive bribes, the virtue of democracy is destroyed, and it is transformed into a government of violence and the strong hand. For the mob, habituated to feed at the expense of others, and to have its hopes of a livelihood in the property of its neighbours, as soon as it has got a leader sufficiently ambitious and daring, being excluded by poverty from the sweets of civil honours, produces a reign of mere violence. Then come tumultuous assemblies, massacres, banishments, redivisions of land; until, after losing all trace of civilisation, it has once more found a master and a despot."
