Moses, Jesus, and Elijah seem to have been in agreement and there seems to be a commonality or harmony in the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb.

thou shalt make an altar
There are a lot of details in the outward construction of these symbols of their system of religion.
Hidden in many of these items and descriptions is also symbols and metaphors of their deeper meanings on a physical level and on a spiritual level.
As we have seen the altars were not piles of stones. Those altars were not a place to burn up sheep and if you think so you have been deceived by the Sophistry. But those altars and the Levites were instruments of the social safety net of their society. They were the institutions that provided the free bread for the needy of society the widows and orphans who fall on hard times.
All the city states had some sort of social safety net to ensure the loyalty and fealty of certain classes of citizens or central treasury to provide protection with walls and armies. They had courts and a hierarchy that exercised authority one over the other. All these institutions like the cities of blood or the dainties of rulers and their tables were a snare.
This mobile tent became the pinnacle of a diversified system that put most of the responsibility for the weightier matters on a division of power and choice that was spread amongst all the people equally.
There was no centralized power, no king, but everyman did what was right in his own eyes. This is what God wants but he does not want you to follow he who has a wicked eye.[1]
The rings and curtains and vails are about boundaries of our own inner understanding. If you do not repent and seek the kingdom of God your eyes will be dimmed. You need to have the lamp of righteousness.
These instructions are about far more than aesthetics. They were means of dealing with moral brokenness, they served as reminders, and they and the living altars of Israel were designed to form the people into perpetual surrender to a responsibility to care for one another through freewill offerings instead of the forced offering of Egypt and most city states of the past and all nations of the world today.
The tabernacle was a symbol of that way of righteousness taught by Moses and again by Jesus. It was a reminder in its symbolic construction of this moving monument echoed the patterns of the kingdom. It also housed a unique golden box called the "ark of the covenant" and "ark of the testimony" and "ark of the LORD". But with all its mystery it was not the tabernacle, nor its contents that made Israel a great nation.
What made Israel great was the willingness of the people to obey the LORD's directions in their heart and mind in order to be a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people". The viable republic that resulted from this conformity to the righteousness of God, like the early Church, operated within the "perfect law of liberty" by "freewill offerings" only, which in the New Testament were called the "charity" and "love" of the Corban of Christ because they had no need for forced taxation nor the men who "call themselves benefactors" but "exercise authority[2] one over the other" in order to provide a social safety net for the care of the needy through pure Religion. They followed The Way of righteousness in fellowship and the righteousness of God with no king or no legislature of the world, and no covetous practices which makes men merchandise, curse children, and is idolatry.[3]

The Bronze Altar

1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.

3 And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

7 And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.

8 Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.

The Court of the Tabernacle

9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:

10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

Gate of the court

16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.

18 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

Oil for the Lamp

20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail[4], which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
