The two-volumes of Luke include both the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Aposles. The text of Luke-Act was used for instruction concerning The Way. The events show the record of an international network of ministers and a multinational intentional community of congregations bound by a common communion of fervent charity. As a peculiar people this kingdom of heaven consisted of intimate congregants of elders of families working together in the love of Christ.
The early Church is seen providing emergency aid and welfare assistance in a daily ministration of Pure Religion through charity alone all over the Empire without the benefits of the legal charity and dainties of those benefactors of the world who exercise authority. The ideology that the use of force to compell the sacrifices of the citizen to provid the Social welfare of public religion degenerates the masses and destroys liberty.[1]

The Passover was a symbol of the sharing that is required in a daily ministration of freewill offerings which was taught by John the Baptist and Christ. It was a reminder of the welfare system not based on forced offerings by benefactors who exercise authority like Nimrod, Pharaoh, Caesar, Herod, or FDR but the Daily bread of Charity essential for a free society. The Eucharist of Christ was not a crumb or wafer we see among modern Christians but the essential practice of Pure Religion through Communion and fellowship in daily love as explained by Justin the Martyr in his apology of Christianity to the Emperor of Rome.

[1] Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.

[2] And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

[3] Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

[4] And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

[5] And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

[6] And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

[7] Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.

[8] And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

[9] And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?

[10] And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

[11] And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

[12] And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

[13] And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

[14] And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

[15] And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

[16] For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.[2][3]

[17] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

[18] For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

[19] And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

[20] Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

[21] But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

[22] And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

[23] And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

[24] And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

[25] And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

[26] But ye shall not be so[4]: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.[5][6]

[27] For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

[28] Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.

Jesus was not only a Jew but was the king of the Jews so he would have kept the feasts.
"bearing a pitcher of water" was normally a woman's job for Pharisees, Sadducees or Zealots but not so for Essenes.
From these passages of that Passover meal modern Christians get their tradition of communion.
Jesus as the king was going to appoint the government of Judea and Israel to the "called out" disciples, His little flock, who would be the apostles to a nation, a peculiar people, who were bound by love in the practice of pure religion through a daily ministration of faith, hope, and charity, not fealty, fear, and force. Moses and Jesus were in agreement and one of the first things Moses taught the people was to make swords. They were still to love their neighbor and give drink to their enemy and not oppress the stranger in their midst. A key point is the established a government hat operated with no taxes, no standing army, no central bank like the Golden calf. The Pharisees disagreed with Jesus but they actually disagreed with Moses about the way Corban was collected. They used force rather than freewill offerings.
Christ also tells them they need to buy a sword. Does a Christian have the right to Self_Defense even a duty to protect the innocent? [7]
Christians were armed in the first century and feared by the Emperors because of their "union and discipline". But they also knew they were people of peace which is why some emperors said leave the Christians alone. The Church who rose up in 300 BC did not want their followers armed because they were established by Constantine and men who called themselves Bishops like Ambrose who called for violence against those who did not except their form of Christianity. That Church took millions of dollars in benefits from those benefactors who exercise authority.
Some would tell you he said this because He needed to be counted as a transgressor as we see in verse 37. But no one going to run out that night and by a sword. Yes, we are to love our enemy but we are also to love our neighbor. We are not to live by the sword but that is what all socialist does because they go to same men who call themselves benefactors who exercise authority backed up with a sword.
Some say that means an eating utensil but Peter cuts an ear off with one a short time later. Christ preached a gospel of love and a daily ministration of charity. Those who depend upon a welfare provided by men who call themselves benefactors but use force as the socialists do have already taken up the sword against their neighbor.
People seek entitlements, which are the wages of unrighteousness, provided by the "fathers of the earth" at the expense of their neighbor do not live in hope but by fear. They do not live by love but by force.
The Church use to take care of all their "orphans and widows and those who, through sickness or any other cause, are in want, and those who are in bonds and the strangers sojourning among us" Justin the Martyr
Prayer There are two different words in Luke translated pray.
Today the modern Christian pray to the benefactors who exercise authority and the Fathers of the earth contrary to the Doctrines of Jesus.
The Christian conflict with Rome was a conflict between Public welfare through force and private welfare through charity.

[29] And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;[8][9]

[30] That ye may eat and drink at my table[10] in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

[31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

[32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

[33] And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

[34] And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

[35] And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

[36] Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.[11]

[37] For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

[38] And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

[39] And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

[40] And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

[41] And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

[42] Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

[43] And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

[44] And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

[45] And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

[46] And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

[47] And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.

[48] But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

[49] When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

[50] And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

[51] And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

[52] Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?

[53] When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

[54] Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

[55] And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.

[56] But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.

[57] And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.

[58] And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.

[59] And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.

[60] And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.

[61] And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

[62] And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

[63] And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.

[64] And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

[65] And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

[66] And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council[12], saying,

[67] Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

[68] And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.

[69] Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

[70] Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

[71] And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

  1. Destroyers of liberty
"That the man who first ruined the Roman people twas he who first gave them treats and gratuities. But this mischief crept secretly and gradually in, and did not openly make it's appearance in Rome for a considerable time." Plutarch's Life of Coriolanus (c. 100 AD.) This would include Julius Caesar and eventually Augustus Caesar which is why Plutarch also reported, “The real destroyers of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations, and benefits.” This was a major theme of the Bible:
There were tables of welfare which were both snares and a traps as David and Paul stated and Peter warned would make us merchandise and curse children. Proverbs 23 told us not to not eat the "dainties" offered at those tables of Rulers and Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10 we cannot eat of those tables and the table of the Lord. We are not to consent to their covetous systems of One purse or Corban which makes the word of God to none effect.
We know when the masses become accustomed to those benefits of legal charity which are the rewards of unrighteousness provided by benefactors who exercise authority and the Fathers of the earth through the covetous practices that makes men merchandise and curse children as a surety for debt.
  2. Kingdom at hand
Luke 21:31 “‭So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.”
Matthew 3:2 “‭And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 4:17 “‭From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 10:7 “‭And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Mark 1:15 “‭And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Luke 22:16 “‭16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.and then he ate
Luke 24:41-43 “‭36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you... ‭41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. ‭43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
  3. Eating and drinking in the kingdom
Matthew 26:29 "But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom."
Mark 14:25 "Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
Luke 22:16 "For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide [it] among yourselves 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come"...(see Him appoint the kingdom 29,30)
Luke 24:40 "And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them [his] hands and [his] feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 And he took [it], and did eat before them."
John 21:9 "As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. 10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught ... 13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. 14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. 15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith..."
  4. Not exercise authority
Matthew 20:25 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you:..."
Mark 10:42 "But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you:..."
Luke 22:25 "And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye [shall] not [be] so:..."
  5. The first will be last
Matthew 19:30 But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last [shall be] first.
Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
Matthew 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.: Mark 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, [the same] shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Mark 10:31 But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last first.
Luke 13:30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
Luke 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luke 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. 27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
  6. Heirs of service
The hierarchy of the kingdom of God does not go up by steps nor exercise authority one over the other but come as he that serves:
Matthew 20:27 "And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
Matthew 23:9 "And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, [even] Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."
Luke 22:26 "But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. 27 For whether [is] greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? [is] not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth."
Mark 9:35 "And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, [the same] shall be last of all, and servant of all."
Galatians 5:13 "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."
  7. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  8. Appoint a kingdom
Matthew 21:43 "Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."
Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Luke 22:29 "And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;"
John 19:15 But they cried out, Away with [him], away with [him], crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
  9. Kingdom Taken
Matthew 2:6 "And thou Bethlehem, [in] the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor(2233), that shall rule my people Israel."
Matthew 9:16  "No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.  17  Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved." Jesus did not just reform the kingdom.
Matthew 21:43 "Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof." Jesus would take it as priest and king.
Luke 13:9 "And if it bear fruit, [well]: and if not, [then] after that thou shalt cut it down." The Corbans of the world were covetous practices
John 19:15...19 "But they cried out, Away with [him], away with [him], crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar." The kingdom taken by the words of their own mouth.
John 15:4 "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." The people must seek The Way.
John 15:8 "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."
Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Luke 22:29 "And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;"
Mark 15:26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
Acts 17:7 "Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus."
1 Peter 2:9 "But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"
See Taking and Giving the Kingdom
  10. Two tables
Psalms 69:22 Let their table become a snare before them: and [that which should have been] for [their] welfare, [let it become] a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate; [and] let none dwell in their tents."
Romans 11:8 "(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway."
1 Corinthians 10:20 "But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils." (See the sacrifice of fools in Ecclesiastes 5:1)
Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples [unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. (see "portion to seven" Ecclesiastes 11:2 and Acts 6.)
Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Isaiah 28:8 For all tables are full of vomit [and] filthiness, [so that there is] no place [clean]. 9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:
Malachi 1:7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD [is] contemptible.
Malachi 1:12 But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD [is] polluted; and the fruit thereof, [even] his meat, [is] contemptible.
Malachi 2:2 "If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay [it] to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings<01293>: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay [it] to heart." See wages of unrighteousness and snare.
Isaiah 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
1 Peter 2:8 "And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:" (see merchandise)
  11. Self defense
Luke 22:36 "Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. 37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. 38 And they said, Lord, behold, here [are] two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough."
Matthew 26:51 "And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out [his] hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?"
John 18:10 "Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. 11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?"
Matthew 23:23 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."
  12. Sanhedrin or council
Luke 10:1 "After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come."
Luke 10:17 "And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name."
Matthew 5:22 "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council <sunedrion>: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
Matthew 10:17 "But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils <sunedrion>, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;"
Matthew 26:59 "Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council <sunedrion>, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;"
Mark 13:9 "But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils <sunedrion>; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them."
Mark 14:55 "And the chief priests and all the council <sunedrion> sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none."
Mark 15:1 "And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council <sunedrion>, and bound Jesus, and carried [him] away, and delivered [him] to Pilate."
Luke 22:66 "And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council <sunedrion>, saying,"
John 11:47 "Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council <sunedrion>, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles."
Numbers 11:16 ¶ "And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee."
Numbers 11:25 "And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that [was] upon him, and gave [it] unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, [that], when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease."
