Globalism

God created the planet and gave dominion to man. Man is endowed with certain rights. To hold that dominion we must remain peculiar people.

Globalism

The Bible does not use the modern political term “globalism,” but several passages are widely connected by interpreters (especially in evangelical and dispensational traditions) to themes of human attempts at worldwide political/economic unity apart from God, centralized power, and end-times global systems.

These are often read as warnings or prophetic patterns rather than direct commentary on contemporary politics even though the should and would if they fully understood the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Tower of Babel

Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9) is one of the most commonly cited foundational passage.

Humanity, speaking one language, settles together and says:

“Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:4, ESV)

We are lead to believe that God confuses their language and scatters them. But does that which bound them within Babylon actually darkened their eyes and degenerated their social bonds so they became a scattered flock?

Many see this as a divine judgment on human pride, self-glorification, and resistance to God’s purpose of filling the earth (cf. Genesis 9:1, 7; Acts 17:26, where God “determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place”).

While it is frequently viewed as an early pattern of centralized human power that God disrupts how did that power centralized in a few or even one come into being?

Did the people seek a system where they all have one Purse?

Did they build a city that was a cauldron where they are the flesh?

Did the develop an appetite for the dainties of rulers which are the reward of unrighteousness?

Were those benefits provided by Benefactors who exercise authority one over the other the bait upon a table that should have been for your welfare but was a snare and a trap?

Did we not heed these warning of Peter about covetous practices[1] and the wages of unrighteousness?[2]

Scholarly readings vary concerning all these things and even Daniel 2 and 7 which described successive empires culminating in a final kingdom different from the others that will “devour the whole earth” (Daniel 7:23).[3]

Revelation 13 is the clearest description of global scope under a single authority.

The beast is given “authority over every tribe and people and language and nation” (13:7).

A second figure imposes a mark so that “no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark” (Revelation 13:16-17).

This is widely interpreted as a future global political-economic system demanding allegiance and controlling commerce.

Revelation 17–18 portrays “Babylon the Great” as a worldwide commercial and political power whose merchants and kings mourn its fall.

There is an explicit call: “Come out of her, my people” (Revelation 18:4).

These texts are the primary basis for discussions of a prophesied one-world system under the Antichrist, often contrasted with the later global kingdom of Christ (Daniel 7:14; Revelation 11:15).

Warnings about the “World” System

New Testament passages warn against the present world order (kosmos) as a system oriented away from God: [4]

These do not name modern globalism specifically but address human systems, pride, and opposition to God’s rule and follow not the way of righteousness.

Interpretations differ significantly. Many Christians see the prophecies as future (tribulation-period) rather than already fulfilled in current globalization.

Economic trade, technology, and cultural exchange are not inherently condemned; the concern in the texts is typically with systems that centralize power, demand worship/allegiance rather than worship by faith. That system is contrary to God, or reject His sovereignty.

A word to the murmurs

There are those who revile the rulers including those they have chosen for themselves by vote or vittles[5]. They should heed the warnings of scripture.

To blame "Western Colonial Powers" is falling into a trap of condemning the heroes of the past because of the common sins that come when the people choose to live in darkness. Those who chose to propagate a select group of villains are often missing the problem we have seen in all the other nations from the Mongol of Genghis Khan, to the Moslem Caliphates who violently perpetrated their Colonial Conquest with sword and scimitar.

It is the sloth, apathy, avarice, and the covetous practices[6] of the people form the tower of mystery Babylon because they fail to come together and live by the way of the righteousness of God seeking the kingdom of God through true faith, hope, and love which is to say fervent Charity.

This was the way of Melchizedek, as Abraham, Moses or as we see in the New Testament the way of the early Church and the true followers of Jesus the Christ.

Instead they murmur and cling to their doctrines of Mystery Babylon in self righteousness eating the dainties of rulers, loving the wages of unrighteousness and in that appetite for benefits they continue to degenerate believing the lie feeding their own vanity and through sloth they empower those powers, rulers, and tyrants of the world.

The same "Western Colonial Powers" that crossed the sea stopped the blood thirsty reign of the Aztecs who enslaved the people in Mexico, crushed the Islamic slave trade at sea, attacking some of the worst tyrants of history.

But again it is not the abundance of evil but the lack of the faithful in the modern Church and its 40,000 denominations.

Who are the faithful, who will honestly follow the way, which is the way of Melchizedek, Abraham, Moses or the followers of the true teachings of Jesus the Christ.
