Neither the man nor his parents sin is caused blindness. What we often seen as punishment is meant to awaken us so that we may become aware and repent. |
Light is meant to remove the darkness. There are stories of blind healed in the synoptic gospels. This account is important for several reasons. |
The story of the healing of the blind man is important because it tells us how those who profess Jesus would be put out of the system of welfare run through the temples of Herod and all those member synagogues. They could no longer eat at those tables or receive their reward of unrighteousness. |
Jesus uses saliva to heal with which we saw in the Mark.[1] |
The blind man sees Jesus at least as a prophet and bears witness to the fact that he must be of God and not a sinner. He is called a disciple and put out of the temple system. |
V35 Jesus hears of this blind man who is put out of the temple system of social welfare through the Corban of the Pharisees and looks for him and asks "Dost thou believe on the Son of God?" Several commentators point out that some text would be translated Son of man here and there are numerous sources that agree.[2] This may be because the phrase Son of God was originally from the Latin "divi filius"[3] then translated into Greek as "υἱὸν τοῦ Θεοῦ; huios toû Theou" Son of God. The common phrase among the Hebrew was Son of Man referring to the the obedient Son of God which Adam should have been. |
Son of God only appears in the Old Testament once in Daniel 3:25[4] we see לְבַר ləḇar which only appears in this text of Daniel 3:25. The normal word for son in Hebrew is Ben[5] which appears thousands of times. The Aramaic word bar BeitReish only 8 times[6] and only once here in Daniel 3 beginning with a Lamed. Other translations render this לְבַר ləḇar as "a son" not "The Son" as we see in the King James. |
The word God in Daniel 3:25 is the Aramaic word אַלָהּ ‘elahh[7] which in the text appears as אֱלָהִֽין׃ ’ĕlāhîn. That form is only used by Daniel and appears 9 times in the book. The King James translates it gods with a small g 8 times. Most other translations render the word with the small g in all appearance including Daniel 3:25. |
The phrase Son of God is clearly unique to the New Testament and appears 46 times. At the time one of the major conflicts with giving this title to Jesus was the fact that it was a title already used by Caesar which made him the final authority over what had become the government temples which provided the growing welfare system administered through them. |
Julius Caesar received the title of because of his unprecedented donations. Unfortunately, these donations were made at the expense of Rome's neighbors the Gaul. |
Questions |
Who might hold the office of the Son of God as it was used back then? |
The idea of someone who exercises authority one over the other[8] to direct the social welfare and daily ministration of the daily bread of society or certainly set them selves up as if they are the Benefactor of the people or even as the head of the Church was opposed by Christ.[8] This is because the distinction between Moses and Jesus and their system of Pure Religion was that the tables and welfare systems they set up were dependent upon freewill offerings or what we call charity and not on the force required through the legal charity of the State which is called idolatry.[9] |
That idolatry through coveting what belongs to others, while opposed by Jesus[10], was not opposed by Herod, Caesar, Constantine, Henry the VIII, FDR and many others of the Modern Churches. There are religious figures and persons who use the power of civil government to provide most of the daily bread for their followers. But God is no respecter of persons. |
Paul and David and Proverbs and the prophets tell us that these tables of welfare are a snare and a trap. Peter tells us because they are covetous practices they will make us merchandise and curse children. |
39 For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.[11] |
How was or is judgment brought upon the world? |
40V "Are we blind also?" |
Being blind may be an excuse but not if you choose to live in darkness. |
41v If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.[11] |
In chapter 9 we are informed that the pharisees have opened the door to liberty under Christ in the kingdom of God. Jesus has been bringing the pharisees to a state of mind where their own words will bring judgement. Only a few more elements need to come to pass. |
The Pharisees must reject God and go under the judgment of Rome with their own declaration. And Caesar's vicarious filius dei must profess Christ as the King of the citizens of Judea in word and deed. |
Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind
1 ¶ And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Spat to make clay
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat[1] on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
How were eyes opened
8 ¶ The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
Pharisees asked
13 ¶ They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
Some Pharisees
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
Called the parents
18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out[12] of the synagogue.
23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
Again called the blind man
24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner[13].
25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.
29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
Who hears
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper[14] of God, and doeth his will[15], him he heareth.
32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
Jesus heard
35 ¶ Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 ¶ And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.[11]
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.[11]
Commentary
There are several things to note in the story of the blind man who was healed. This was one of the few instances where no one sought healing for the blind man nor did he asked to be healed . It is also one of the only instances where Jesus takes a foreign substance and uses it in the healing process.
Jesus almost always says that it was the individual's faith, or what he calls virtue,[16] that saved them in that it allowed healing to go out of Him and to enter and heal the individual.
Uniquely this man also did not see until after Jesus had left and so he did not know Jesus by sight. So beginning in verse 35 Jesus goes and talks with the man and asks, "Dost thou believe on the Son of God?"
The man does believe but the Pharisees said they believed in Moses yet did not know Jesus. But we see in John 5:46 where Jesus says, "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me."
The 'all we need to be saved is to believe in Jesus' Christian is correct in their proclamation of the importance of faith. But they have to believe in the real Jesus. The Pharisees thought they believed in the real Moses but in truth they did not.
We know the Pharisees did not know Jesus but also that they did not know Moses because though they kept their interpretation of the law in fact they did not keep it in Spirit.
- John 7:19 "Did not Moses give you the law, and [yet] none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?"
The reason they wanted to kill Him is because he was exposing them as false followers of Moses or true followers of a false Moses made up by them and other deceivers.
How many people claim to follow Christ, claim to be Christians but do not Keep the Commandments?
If they do not keep the Two commandments how can it be said they keep the Ten Commandments?
And if not the Ten then how can they obtain Eternal life?
The Ten Laws are given as guideposts to let us know if we are following the path of God which is The Way of Jesus. If we are coveting our neighbor's goods through the agency of Benefactors who exercise authority then we are making the word of God to none effect and not keeping the commandments nor following Jesus nor giving evidence of the fruit of repentance.
Do we believe in a false Christ that condones Socialism?
Are we practicing False religion or Pure Religion?
There is a faith that produces righteousness. The Modern Christians believe they are saved by what they think but remain workers of iniquity to be cast out.
They should know that they shall Not inherit the kingdom.
They can know this because by the policy of their life they do not Keep the Commandments nor are they a Doer of the word.
Can they have Grace and still pray to the rulers and Fathers of the earth who call themselves Benefactors to obtain their benefits?
If they will not be the Benefactors of love and charity how can God give to them?
If you will not bless others with your forgiveness and grace then how can God forgive you and bestow His Grace on you?
True believers in the Real Jesus will know there is something wrong with the modern forms of Christianity which claim to follow Christ. They will know this because they will be willing to hear and see the truth in their heart and mind when it is professed.
So are you a real Christian?

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Jesus spat
- Mark 7:33 "And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. 35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain."
- Mark 8:23 "And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put [his] hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly."
- John 9:6 "When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,"
- ↑ Many of the early Greek texts do not contain the phrase "Son of God" in the Greek text but we see instead the phrase "Son of man". In John 9:35 the specifically we can see in the Scrivener's Textus Receptus 1894, Stephanus Textus Receptus 1550, Byzantine Majority Text 2005, and Greek Orthodox Church do say "υἱὸν τοῦ Θεοῦ; huios toû Theou" Son of God. But in the Westcott and Hort 1881 and the Westcott and Hort NA27 and UBS4 variants We see υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου; huios toû anthropou, which is the Son of man. This is also in Nestle 1904, Tischendorf 8th Edition, and Greek Study Bible (Apostolic / Interlinear).
- ↑ Every coin that Augustus made had the words, divi filius, "son of the divine one"
- ↑ Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

- ↑ 8.0 8.1 Not exercise authority
- Matthew 20:25 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you:..."
- Mark 10:42 "But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you:..."
- Luke 22:25 "And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye [shall] not [be] so:..."
- ↑ Covetousness is idolatry
- Colossians 3:5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:"
- Ephesians 5:5 "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."
- 1 Corinthians 5:10 "Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."
- For it is written that the tables of dainties provided by rulers of the world are a snare because they cause the masses to bite one another through government systems of legal charity which are covetous practices which are a form of fornication or adultery where the people are devoured as merchandise, curse children and are "entangled again in the yoke of bondage" with the aid of the false religion of the whore who rides the beast.
- ↑ Covet not
