(Verse 1) The Book of Micah is the similitude of the timeless word or (דָבָר dabar)[1] from יְהוָֹה Yëhovah, the existing one. |
Understanding the the manner, means, and meaning in the functions of temples and why one is holy and another is an abomination is key to understanding Micah. |
Micah asks What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria[2]? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem? |
Samaria is the mountains that watch. Mountains are people gathered and Samaria is the gathering of the watchmen of God. Psalms 127:1 «A Song of degrees for Solomon.» Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep <08104> the city, the watchman <08104> waketh [but] in vain.. |
Questions |
What are graven images and how are they taken down? |
Who was highest according to Christ? Was it not those who served?[3] Were the high places of Judah serving the people? Were they Jerusalem the double peace? |
Is Baldness[4] associated with remorse as we see in Job[5] the lack of the drawing near seen with unrighteous Corban? Does baldness or the cutting of hair relate to regret and remorse as seen in Jeremiah[6] |
Is the hire just the prostitutes who tickle and give pleasure to the people for profit refer to ministers who work for money and not out of love of righteousness? |
Does Jeremiah 5:7 write of the same sin we see in Micah?[7] |
Is the dragon[8] the naked serpent and the owl the daughter(bath) of the creature of the night and prey in darkness? |

The Coming Destruction
1 ¶ The word of the LORD[9] that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw Samaria and Jerusalem.
2
Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord[10] GOD[11] be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
3
For, behold, the LORD[9] cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
4
And the mountains shall be molten[12] under him, and the valleys shall be cleft[13], as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.[14]
5
For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria?[2] and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
6
Therefore I will make Samaria[2] as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley,[15] and I will discover [remove] the foundations thereof.
7
And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires[16] thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot,[17] and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.[17]
8 Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked:[18] I will make a wailing like the dragons[8], and mourning as the owls. 9 For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. 10 Declare ye it not at Gath["winepress"], weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah["house of dust"] roll thyself in the dust. 11 Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir["beauty", "fair"], having thy shame[19] ["confusion"] naked["bare"]:[20] the inhabitant of Zaanan[leader of the flock] came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel["house of narrowing"]; he shall receive of you his standing. 12 For the inhabitant of Maroth["bitterness"] waited carefully for good: but evil[21] came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem. 13 O thou inhabitant of Lachish["invincible"], bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee. 14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath["to seize"], dispossess:[22] the houses of Achzib["deceit"} shall be a lie to the kings of Israel. 15 Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah["crest of a hill" "head place"]: he shall come unto Adullam["justice of the people"] the glory of Israel. 16 Make thee bald, and poll[23] thee for thy delicate [delight] children; enlarge thy baldness[4]as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity[24] from thee.
