To pray
To pray is to Appeal, apply or ask.
The word to pray is defined as an "address a solemn request or expression of thanks to a deity or other object of worship."
From the Latin precari ‘entreat.’ "ask someone earnestly or anxiously to do something".
proseuchomai
In the New Testament we see the word prayer from proseuchomai[1] meaning to solemnly request something for an advantage from an authority which has the power to grant benefits.
An application is "a formal request to an authority for something."
- The Greek word proseuchomai [2] as a verb appears some 80+ times[3] and who you pray to is an element of prayer.
Who should you be applying to, or appealing for aid from to obtain protection and comfort?
And who should we be calling on or asking for our social benefits?
Should that be our Father in heaven or the Fathers of the earth?
So, do we have an appetite for the righteousness of God or the reward of unrighteousness?
Should we pray for our daily bread to the God of Creation or the "gods many" of the world?
House of prayer
What is the difference between a house of prayer[4] and one of plunder or thieves?[5]
deomai
There is another word we see translated pray which is deomai[6] which we see in Luke.[7] It comes from the word deo meaning "to bind tie, fasten". So, deomai is associated with both Prayers and bonds.
The Book of Luke is the only gospel where this word appears and in Luke 22 we see Luke also using proseuchomai.
Whomever you pray to, whether it be the God of heaven or he gods and fathers of the earth you are bound by those prayers.
In the Bible, we see the word used many times but translated from many different words.
Application to gods
Basically a prayer is an application for help from God or gods. Their are gods many according to Paul. We are to pray to our Father in Heaven and not the Fathers of the earth. We certainly should not be praying to the governments of the world for their benefits because they are Benefactors who exercise authority one over the other.
Such Covetous Practices would make Merchandise of us and curse our children with debt.
But the command to pray also includes a command to Watch.[8] To watch is to seek the tree of life in a state of mindfulness.
parakaleo
- Another word parakaleo [9] appears over a hundred times[10] but only 6 times as pray but 43 times as beseech and also as desire as in exhorting.
So just the desire or application for the possibility of benefits is a form of prayer but parakaleo is distinctively different than proseuchomai.
erotao
We see the same thing in the less used word of deomai [6] and also erotao [11] appearing some 58 times in the Bible[12] and which are both far less formal in the asking than the Greek proseuchomai.
euchomai
Other words like euchomai[13] appearing only 7 times [14] denotes prayer as just wishing for something.
Jesus taught us how to pray, not just by what He said but with what He did. While I am a firm believer in the effectiveness of prayer, I think it is essential that the individual praying must also not make their neighbor prey as a matter of personal practices for their prayers to actually be heard.
This might include a forbearance of the covetous practices among their religious philosophies, often even condoned by modern Churches and their ministers who love their pulpits more than the truth.
Entanglement with God
Quantum entanglement is the phenomenon that occurs when a duet of particles are generated, interact, or share spatial proximity in such a way that the quantum state of each particle of the group cannot be described independently of the state of the others, including when the particles are separated by a large distance.
In other words aspects of one particle of an entangled pair depend on aspects of the other particle, no matter how far apart they are or what lies between them.
Is this theory about the nature of things a reflection of the spiritual entanglement that occurs when we hear and believe while becoming doers of the word. If we do not become doers of the words of Christ while we say we are a believer is our belief a lie.
Jesus as the Christ told all to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness rather than force of the world. We would have an appetite for the perfect law of liberty rather than reward of unrighteousness. There would be no other Fathers nor rulers who could provide benefits and dainties[15] that we would desire nor pray for at our neighbor's expense.
Jesus taught us how to pray and watch, not just by what he said but with what He did. Should a believer's prayer make their neighbors prey of men who exercise authority?[16]
While covetous practices may be excused among religious philosophies, and even condoned by modern Churches and their ministers who love their pulpits more than the truth it was forbidden[17] by Christ.[18]
If we love one another that would manifest itself in positive ways[19] and remains a part of the process of life. Just as Christ picked up His cross there was a price he was willing to pay, the followers of The Way of Christ consent daily to pick up their own cross.
Prayers in congregation
Elders often ask the ministers of their congregations if there are any needs. Often all the elders in the congregations are fiercely independent, so their is no apparent need within the congregation. Hence some elders have been prone not to give regularly.
But a minister will be aware of the pulse of the larger network. There are endless needs and, if a congregation is constantly giving, a minister can channel funds where they are most needed in the body of the whole body of Christ at any time.
Tithes or freewill offerings of the people are the taxes of the Kingdom of God. To a large degree, those taxes will determine the level of service your government is able to provide and the brightness of the witness it can offer to the world of nations.
The kingdom of God is a Republican form of government where the people are free from things public, libera res publica. That one form of government is supported by a peculiar people who choose individually to tax themselves out of love for other people according to the God given conscience of the people.[20] The people must learn to govern themselves through th freewill choice of a daily sacrifice of casting their bread through charity and love in hope that it will come back to them when they are in need.
These are needs and projects that your minister can channel gifts to by exercising his own good judgment and diligence to determine where the gifts will have the most impact. Note: A gift doesn't have to be monetary. Your minister can also channel gifts of time, talents, and merchandise.

- Mark 7:20 "And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."
- Luke 12:15 "And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth."
- Luke 16:14 "And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God."
- Luke 21:34 "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth."
- Matthew 19:17 "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."
- John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

- John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love."
- ↑ John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
- ↑ Is the Bible about religion which it seldom mentions only once in a good way as Pure Religion or is it about governments and law including Natural Law? "This Bible is for the Government of the People, by the People, and for the People." is attributed to the General Prologue to the John Wycliffe Bible translation of 1384, as Lincoln quoted at Gettysburg.
