Hate

It was not the fruit and vegatables of Cain's sacrifice that was rejected by God but the fact that the came from plowing the adamah. His altar was not rooted in the practice of love which brought darkness to his heart where light became the enemy.
Without the daily cultivation of love the masses will degenerate until they seek Rulers, like Nimrod and Saul who will resort to the use of force to provide the tables of Welfare that will become a snare. The people who have an appetite for the wages of unrighteousness will not love the light nor truth until darkness and hate becomes their constant companion.

Some have been taught that a Christian's job is to suffer and be willing to be hated for Christ.

It would seem a Christian's "job" would be to follow "The Way" of Christ, be doers of the Word, and also turn away from that which He said not do, especially those things that "make the word of God to none effect".

Originally one of His first directives was to repent and seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Hate you

Others instructions were to love God and your neighbor as your self. But we are also told to love our enemy and even those who "hate you".

Matthew 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"

Anyone can make enemies but that is not our job to do so. But it seems our job is to love our enemy.

To be hated is not the point nor the goal. Christ gives us a detailed explanation of the condition for whom is hated and why if we have eyes to see and ears to hear.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

Who or what is the world?

This will be essential to have a thorough understand of what the word world means in the context

What does it mean to be in the world but not of the world?

How does one become "of the world"?

If we understand what and why the Corban of the Pharisees makes the word of God to none effect".

Corban means "sacrifice". That sacrifice provided a social safety net for ancient societies But it is the "means and method" of that sacrifice which degenerates the soul of society or cause it to bear fruit.

Herod and Caesar implemented the former system based on force, fear, and fealty. Once those governments obtained the consent of the people, those governments of the world used their newly granted power to exercise authority[1] to take from the people so they could set their Table of government benefits and dainties for the welfare of the people who became members of the system "of that world".

David said this was a snare and a trap, Paul agreed. Peter warned that these system as "legal charity" would make the people merchandise and eventually curse children.

While John the Baptist, Jesus, and the early Church preached and pursued the means and method rooted in faith, hope and charity.[2] It required that every one loved their neighbor and not bite[3] one another through the teeth of the benefactors of the world who exercise authority one[1] over the other.

Paul spoke of the two tables where one was snare and the other rightly divide bread from house to house.

1 John 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Exodus 35:21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, [and] they brought the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
Exodus 36:3 And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it [withal]. And they brought yet unto him free offerings <05071> every morning.
Deuteronomy 16:10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering <05071> of thine hand, which thou shalt give [unto the LORD thy God], according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
1 Samuel 13:12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering. 13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him [to be] captain over his people, because thou hast not kept [that] which the LORD commanded thee.
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Luke 3:11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.
  3. Bite not
Ecclesiastes 4:5 "The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh."
Proverbs 6:10 "[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man."
Proverbs 20:4 "The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing."
Proverbs 24:33 "[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 34 So shall thy poverty come [as] one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man."
Proverbs 11:17 "The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but [he that is] cruel troubleth his own flesh."
Isaiah 9:20 "And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:"
Isaiah 9:20 "And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:"
Ezekiel 11:3 "Which say, [It is] not near; let us build houses: this [city is] the caldron, and we [be] the flesh... 11 This [city] shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; [but] I will judge you in the border of Israel:"
Micah 3:3 "Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron."
Galatians 5:14 "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another."
2 Corinthians 11:20 "For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour [you], if a man take [of you], if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face."
The ultimate bondage is to hate your neighbor through the error of Balaam because we fail to forgive which is the consuming fire of Exodus 33 and the Raca of Matthew 5 that brings the judgement and wrath of God.
