Korban of ancient societies differed and while the word could be etched in stone it was the means and method that etched it in the heart and mind of the masses. There were cities of blood which often had to do with their "Inscriptions of a religious and public character" or an "Instrumentum domesticum".[1]
There Goddesses of social welfare which provided for the public religion or Feasts. If that daily bread is provided by Faith, hope, and charity it will produced strong social bonds which are the natural fruits of that relationship. If the means and method of that distribution of free bread is performed by force and fear the fruit of that relationship ends in the fealty of the foolish?
This is because the "dainties" of these rulers and "... their table become(s) a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare... become(s) a trap."[2] There are many warnings of scripture but many modern Christians again turn a blind eye [3] to the Truth and are entangled again in those covetous practices with an appetite for the wages of unrighteousness offered by "benefactors who exercise authority one over the other".[4]

Nature of the Beast

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the phrase nature of the beast first appeared in the 1600s: The nature of the beast was said to be “the inherent or essential quality or character of something, (usually undesirable) which cannot be changed and must be accepted.”

First appearance was said to be in the midst 1678 John Ray's Collection of English Proverbs (ed. 2) 77 “It's the nature o' th' beast.” It was suggest it was an accepted idiom at that time.

But I found in the 1567 translation of Ovid's[5] Metamorphosis[6] by Arthur Golding who died in 1606:

Yee mortall men, forbeare to frank your flesh with wicked foode.
Yee have both come and frutes of trees and grapes and herbes right good.
And though that sum bee harsh and hard: yit fyre may make them well
Both soft and sweete. Yee may have milk, and honny which dooth smell
Of flowres of tyme. The lavish earth dooth yeeld you plentiously
Most gentle foode, and riches to content bothe mynd and eye.
There needes no slaughter nor no blood to get your living by.
The beastes doo breake theyr fast with flesh:
& yit not all beastes neyther.
For horses, shéepe, and Rotherbeastes too live by grasse had lever.
The nature of the beast that dooth delyght in bloody foode,
Is cruell and unmercifull. As Lyons féerce of moode,
Armenian Tigers, Beares, and Woolves.
Oh, what a wickednesse
It is to cram the mawe with mawe, and frank up flesh with flesh,
And for one living thing to live by killing of another:” See context.

Metamorphosis was the Roman poet Ovid's magnum opus. The poem chronicles the history of the world from its creation to the deification of Julius Caesar as the Son of God.

We see the word “unmercifull” used by Golding in Romans 1:31 “Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:”

The word unmerciful is translated from the Greek word aneleemon [7] which is the negative form of the word for mercy from eleos[8] meaning “mercy: kindness or good will towards the miserable and the afflicted, joined with a desire to help them “ and is a distinguishing characteristic of “true Christians” who lives by faith rather than taking a bite out of his neighbor through force.

Void of Right Reason

The Nature of the Beast is void of “Right Reason” and of faith in righteousness but it desires with a seared conscience to bite friend and foe to fill or satisfy it's appetite.

Right Reason is equated with divine will and the Natural Law but if you read the rest of Romans 1 to know that the “righteousness of God [is] revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:17 "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."

Living by faith is not living by force.

Romans 1:19 "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

We should expect irrational and unjust behaviors without mercy, nor love, nor forgiveness from the agents of governments we create by selfish intent, wantonness and avarice, or even sloth.

Because we have been biting one another in the world we have created we should expect to be devoured.

Galatians 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Because the people profess themselves to be wise, they became fools and again live in darkness.[9]

Because the masses recieve a strong delusion they are blind to the [(iniquity]], evil, and wickedness of the covetous practices of their systems of legal charity provided through men who call themselves benefactors but exercise authority one over the other.[4]

Race to hate

Darkness does not exist but is the mere absence of light. The same is true of cold which is the absence of heat. If this pattern continues in creation then hate is the absence of love.

This would mean that if there is any appearance of an increase in the levels of hate it is actually a decrease in the love that is present in society.

Is there a rise in racism or just in hate?

People who are infected with guilt or shame will often seek an escape from the pains, misery, and humiliations that accompany any state of mortification or abasement by projecting that pain in the form of abuse through acts of bias and bigotry.

Blaming someone else for that internal pain may seem to give at least a temporary relief from our personal feeling of agony.

Directing or projecting that emptiness onto another is not physically possible. Darkness cannot be projected but to create darkness in others by causing them to reject the light and love of the Creator by repeating the process in another is the best that can be desired.

As wicked and evil as that maybe the Law of Nature dictates there will only be returned for our trouble more agony and disgrace.

Nothing decreases love and the practice of love in a society than an increase dependence upon and an appetite for legal charity, the dainties of rulers, and the benefits from "men who call themselves benefactors but exercise authority one over the other."

In the social welfare state there is a killing of care, a nurturing of perversion, a creeping corruption

Any hope for a personal relief is is a false hope.

There is no relief possible when there is a lack of love, no love possible when there is a lack of forgiveness. The practice prejudice breeds more hate, more emptiness, and therefore, more wantonness and licentiousness and of course more darkness. In that darkness ignorance and foolishness grows leading to more debasement and degradation.

Race gives a convenient target to direct this self defeating process because we do not have to know our victim. Racism is the lazy man's scapegoat.

Metamorphoses Context

“The first foundation of the world: the cause of every thing:
What nature was: and what was God: whence snow and lyghtning spring:
And whither Jove or else the wynds in breaking clowdes doo thunder:
What shakes the earth: what law the starres doo keepe theyr courses under:
And what soever other thing is hid from common sence.
He also is the first that did injoyne an abstinence
To feede of any lyving thing. He also first of all
Spake thus: although ryght lernedly, yit to effect but small:
Yee mortall men, forbeare to frank your flesh with wicked foode.
Yee have both come and frutes of trees and grapes and herbes right good.
And though that sum bee harsh and hard: yit fyre may make them well
