Double letters
The use of Double letters often includes more the sum of their meaning. Two Yods in a row designate the name of God Adonai and in certain texts are written with the vowels of Adonai which have their own meaning, meaning something distinct from Elohim.
As the children of God we can only have the character of God if we will let His tree into our hearts and mind. The double Yod we see in the tree of life suggests we have done that in faithfully eating of that spirit of that tree.
The Tetragrammaton which begins with the Yod with two Hey separated by Vav is a symbol of the distinction that exist in the reality of what is true.
A Yod is the smallest letter, but kabbalistic types have given it a mystical significance as a divine point through which the 'spark of life' enters the more human realm of our flesh and blood existence.
Man is created both for this world and the world of Spirit.
God is spirit but through the word was made manifest. Jesus was flesh and blood in this world but had that divine connection to the Creator/Father which is Spirit.
Some see the team of flesh and spirit as opposites but they are not.
Flesh and spirit are said to be mortal-immortal, earthly-heavenly. They are both contained within man if he is willing to see their truth there is no conflict.
Some will even say Flesh and spirit are good-evil but evil is the absence of good that occurs or that evil is created in man when he denies truth, which is hating the light. No one is born again who hates the light or prefers the darkness.
This rejection of the truth, the preference for delusion or a lie is a kind of vain comfort and not of God.
This is when the flesh is out of sink with the spirit and evil and darkness prevail.
This is what occurred when we denied God's word and in vanity ate of the tree of knowledge of our own minds denying the spiritual revelation of the tree of life.
Double Gimel
The letter Gimel is the third letter in the Hebrew alphabet and is the source of the Greek letter Gamma. The Gimel is about the Cause and Effect or "justified repayment" of creation. The word Gimel means to be "kind or benevolent" because that brings blessings. If we are "cruel and covetous" there will be consequences. The good consequences are called blessings the bad we call the Wrath of God.
Hebrew is spelled GimelYodMemLamed. It is said to be written as a man running after a poor man to give him charity. A double Gimel by itself has been translated "roof", גג, which is a covering.
The "Double Gimel" is said to also be one of three paths to wisdom. The root word chagag ChetGimelGimel[1] but in the text if in Exodus 5:1 we see wə·yā·ḥōg·gū VavYodHeyGimelGimel.
The noun גג (gag) denotes most commonly the flat roof[2] of a building on which things can take place; usually to do with idolatrous worship (Judges 16:27, Joshua 2:6, 2 Samuel 11):2, 2 Kings 23 ... Gog and Magog appear with two Gimels divided by a Vav: Agag, Hamon-gog.
Double Pei
- Exodus 13:16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets <02903 וּלְטוֹטָפֹ֖ת >[3] between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.
- Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets <02903 לְטֹטָפֹ֖ת >[3] between thine eyes.
- Deuteronomy 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart[4] and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets <02903 לְטוֹטָפֹ֖ת >[3] between your eyes."
The "towphaphah" is associated with an ancient form of Meditation.
Double Tav
One important Double letters in Hebrew is the Double Tav which represents double faith or faith in Spirit and Truth, or spirit and flesh.
In Deuteronomy 7:3 we see Marriages[5] is not ChetTavNun חָתַן chathan but is TavTavChetTavNun תִתְחַתֵּ֖ן ṯiṯ-ḥat-tên which is about making contracts, covenants and constitutions with them in spirit and truth because of the double Tav.
In Deuteronomy 7:5 we see a word for destroy which is not from shamad ShinMemDalet[6] nor Abad AlefBeitDelat[7] nor charam ChetReishMem.[8] which are the most common Hebrew words translated destroy. There are many words translated destroy such as machah[9], shachath[10], caphah[11], mashchiyth [12], karath [13], shabar[14], quwr [15], huwm[16], chabal[17], but there is also a different chabal[18]. .
But the word here is the word nathats NunTavTzadik[19] but in the text we see tittōṣū with the letters TavTavTzadikVav תִּתֹּ֔צוּ tit-tō-ṣū, again containing the Double Tav which means to not just destroy the form but overcome their alters in "spirit and truth". With the inclusion of the Tzadik and a Vav at the end this destruction is brought about by righteousness in Spirit and Truth.
This is the same approach and principle we see in Mark 7: 10- 13 Where the Corban or Sacrifice of the Pharisees was making the word of God to none effect because it had become Legal charity. In order to be a true gift from God by the right of the individual to choose through righteousness to make a freewill offering it must be the result of fervent charity. Christ did not destroy the altars of the Pharisees (רצון לתת Ratzon La’Tet) by force but supplanted them with his living altars of charity.
It is the connection or synchronization of two realms of the Spirit and the physical reality through being a doer of the word that manifests the power of the kingdom. It is the Kingdom of God at hand where we seek to do the righteous will of the Father creator.
Double Yod
The double Yod means that God's Holy Spirit, His Yod or divine spark, was present in Spirit and Truth.
In Exodus 1:17 the words saved alive is from Chayah consisting of the Hebrew letters ChetYodHey[20] but we see in the text wat-tə-ḥay-ye-nā VavTavHeyYodYodNun with a Double Yod. And again in Exodus 1:20 the words Therefore dealt well are from yatab YodTetBeit[21] but in the text way-yê-ṭeḇ VavYodYodTetBeit with another Double Yod. The Double Yod means that God rewarded them by causing the royalty and the priesthood to issue from them.
The Hebrew word that is formed with only a BeitYod is said to mean "Pray" as in "excuse me"[22] and is commonly translated "Oh" as in "Oh LORD". בִּי biy [bee] perhaps from 01158 (with the sense of asking) as an entreaty often translated as "Oh" defined as "if it please, pray excuse me".
- See also 0997 בֵּין ben, between; 0996 בֵּין bayn; 0995 בֵּין bin, To discern; 0994a בֵּי bi pray, excuse me, please, and 0994b בֵּיי bayay, to entreat; 0998 and 0999(Daniel 2:21) binah בִּינָה , an understanding;
Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed[23] man of the dust[24] of the ground[25], and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life[26]; and man became a living[27] soul[28]."
The term formed[23] is not yatsar YodTzedekReish but within the text we see way·yî·ṣer VavYodYodTzedekReish. Again the YodYod express the idea that man was not merely molded physically but spiritually.
So, man was given a double gift just as we see with the rewards and blessing given the midwives of Egypt in Exodus 1. They knew what was right from within by the spirit of revelation and followed that knowing with action in the real world as doers of the word, the Logos.
This, of course, was a part of the armor of God and gave them a protection.
Faith in action is not just faith in the mind but is fulfilment of a process of spiritual salvation.
Being a doer of the word is not just a suggestion but is a requirement.
There is another word considered to be from an unused root meaning to effervesce but contains a double Yod which is yayin YodYodNun.[29] It is said to mean wine and can be a metaphor for blood, but also love. New wine is symbolic of the the truth and the Holy Spirit
In Exodus 2:14[30] Moses feared[31] os the word יָרֵא yare’ normally spelled YodReishAlef but in the text we see וַיִּירָ֤א way·yî·rā VavYodYodReishAlef translated as and feared.
The Vav can give us the word and but what does the double yod tell us?
We are led to believe that Moses feared the Pharaoh but the word Pharaoh פַּרְעֹה֙[32] refers to the "Great house of Pharoah" which included the whole the whole bureaucracy of that government and not merely one man.[33] That house did not like Moses because by blood he was not Egyptian but only by adoption.
Does Moses's fear men or does he fear of God and the loss of his own soul?
Did Moses began to know he killed because he lacked faith?
Was he becoming a tyrant and fled his situation?
When the midwife feared God we see the word midwives in Exodus 1:17 and Exodus 1:21 as ham·yal·lə·ḏōṯ הַֽמְיַלְּדֹת֙ ends in the letter Tav the letter of faith.
There are many other examples... we will look at in our studies of the Bible.
Double Mem
The double MemMem מם, like other Double letters in Hebrew, has significance greater than the single Mem. The Mem has a numerical value of 40 and as a word a value of 80 which is a double MEM. There are different levels that the meaning of Mem may be manifested. God parted the waters to create, which resulted in the upper and lower waters.
Amam AlefMemMem comes from a root often found in Semitic languages. In the Hebrew root the word has a double Mem, one open and one closed. The double Mem often seems to include the idea of visible and also hidden or concealed. It is part of the secrets or mysteries of life's dynamics because it refers to the flow of life in the visible physical world and the less visible quantum or spiritual world.
The first place we see the term ‘amam (עָמַם) is in Lamentations[34] tells of "gold" becoming dim.
But this reference is not about "gold" but the "sons of Zion". They ask why what should be golden vessels have become earthen pitchers.[35] It is in part that they fail to care for or feed their own young children.[36]
They feed them the "royal dainties"[37], the dainties of rulers. This common theme of iniquity throughout the Bible alters the people, and brings the destruction of Sodom.[38] That iniquity turns what should be white to blackness.[39]
We also see ‘amam in Ezekiel.[40]
The Peculiar people of God are those who are intimate with God's revealed but other wise hidden knowledge. That knowledge comes by way of the Tree of life which is spiritual rather than the mere Tree of knowledge. This is the lack of that knowledge that brings destruction.
- Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
The word "lack" is balah[41] which is about "a wearing out" or a "gradually withdrawal" like the creeping in we see in 2 Timothy 3:6 which is the result of a process of cause and effect, a gradual flow from one jurisdiction to another.
2 Timothy 3:6 "For of this sort are they which creep[42] into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,"
There is another root word with a double Mem which is "Hamam" with a double Mem (הָמַם)[43] first seen in Exodus 14:24 as the word troubled and again in Exodus 23:27 as destroy all the people by His fear and again in Deuteronomy 2:15 are just a few of the places this word hamam appears in scripture.

Double Tzadik
There are numerous double letters that are arranged in the Hebrew text and this is said to include the double Tzadik which would appear as matsats[44] in the Bible as the root word of a very common word that represents something we can physically have in our house, our hand and our food but actually also represents a moral idea or concept that is intrinsically related to covetous practices and corruption.
Isaiah 66:11 "That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out <04711>, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory."
It should also be noted that in the actual text where this Hebrew word matsats[44] is said to appear it is not written with its double Tzadik but as tāmōṣṣū or TavMemTzadikVav (תָּמֹ֛צּוּ).
The letter צ ץ Tzadik is always related to The Faith of the Righteous One, the foundation of the word "to hunt" or Harvest even eat or desire. [Harvest, pant, desire] (Numeric value: 90)
If double letters are often a reference to the spirit and truth dynamic of a cause and effect universe where the spiritual and physical realms echo evidence of the singularity of creation and the God of creation then what does a double Tzadik indicate?
A key to understanding the dynamics of the double Tzadik is to know that the word matsats which appears only this once in the Bible is also the root word for the term leaven or matstsah[45].
We may ask why but again Hebrew is composed of letters that have meanings and if we alter the letters we may be altering the use of the word and its meaning. It may require a different way of thinking about language as something not merely composed of symbols and their meanings but with a more spiritual dynamic.
Is it clearly understood in the teachings of Moses that yeast in the bread at Passover is only part of a rituals and ceremonies which is meant to warn us about the spirit the leaven symbolizes in that root word matsats[44] which is written by letters in the text representing a source of spiritual corruption "in the sense of greedily devouring (the) sweetness" of something.
We need to be finding out if there is spiritual corruption found in our our practices of our daily ministration that is sucking out the sweetness of our soul and the soul of society?
Those who unmoor meaning from their forms of rituals and ceremonies strangle the spirit that gives life and fall into a prison where the letter killeth.[46] But those who read the text with the light of the Holy Spirit, instead of in the shadows of the tree of knowledge, may be guided through the currents and eddies of language of definitions and dogma. It may also be significant to note that the verb preceding it which is anog[47] AyinNunGimel (עָנַג) but what we see in the text is wəhiṯ‘annaḡtem VavHeyTavAyinNunGimelTavMem (וְהִתְעַנַּגְתֶּ֖ם).
These two words have numerous additional letters including the appearance of three Tavs. Moses only uses the word anog[47] once and not in a good sense.[48] but in Isaiah 66:11 the term is surrounded by the letter of faith which flows in in a process of sacrifice.
These that are blessed in these verses 10 through 14 stand in contrast to those earlier in verses 3 and 4,[49]
Do these same principles apply to the rituals and ceremonies of circumcision of the flesh and circumcision of the heart?
Double Kuf
The double Kuf קק appears in the word cḥuqaq[50] but seems to always include additional letters that sometimes even replaces one of the Kufs. The question may arise as to the double kuf being added for a similar purpose of expressing the need for something to be in existence as spirit and truth.
Since the word cḥuqaq[50] is defined as cutout or engrave then it would follow that a Double Kuf suggest that it is a reference to writing something in two places such as writing upon the heart and upon the mind.
In Genesis 49:10 we see VavMemChetKufKuf(וּמְחֹקֵ֖ק) translated nor a lawgiver[51]

Parting waters
The Hebrew letter mem means water or flow of something. Water is the foundational component in the physical creation of life.
Harmony of realms
There are many other occurrence of Double letters.
Examples of these double letters can be seen in the Song of Solomon or Song of Songs which occurs in chapter 5 within the woman's innermost desires. This book or song seems to be strange and out of place in the biblical library but is full of the symbols of salvation that must come in spirit and in truth.
- "I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night."
She answer to the knocking of her lover and no other. Though her love seems to have "withdrawn himself, and was gone"[73] like Christ speaking to the Father on the cross.[74]
During this absence in the text she is left alone and wonders lost in the world and is abused by the "watchmen of the city" but she remains faithful like the true bride of Christ.
In the text we find a double Dalet, three double Yod(s), a double Tav, a double Shin, a double Vav, a double Samech, and two double Lamed(s).
Doubling often signifies truth of the thing in two realms like the double Tav representing a synchronization of the will of the Father and His children, mankind. It is the union of the Father and Son of faith, in spirit and truth.
- Exodus 1:17 "But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive."
God was good to the midwives who disobeyed the order of the Pharaoh to kill the newly born baby boys, at the risk of their own lives.
In the Bible the phrase for “made the good” contains a double Yod, even though there is no need for it.
Why is it there?
Because the two realms must come into harmony.

- ↑ Ezekiel 23:13 Then I saw that she was defiled, [that] they [took] both one way, 14 And [that] she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion, 15 Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity: 16 And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea. 17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them. 18 So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister. 19 Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
