Review:
Chapter 1: Vanity is empty and all things that are empty remain empty.
Chapter 2: The "fool walketh in darkness" which leads to a "vexation of spirit" and asks shall we be "a wise man or a fool?" Shall a "soul enjoy good in his labour" or another "man that hath not laboured therein"?
By Chapter 3: Addressing "wickedness was there; and ... iniquity" we see it repeated that everyman's labor belongs to himself by the endowment of God. The question is asked what is the spirit that leads a man upward, and the spirit that goeth downwardwhich brings man down to dust.
The warning in Chapter 4 is that if a man cares only for himself or chooses to oppress others" he may become a "fool who foldeth his hands together, and ends up where he eateth his own flesh.
Chapter 5: Beginning with the sacrifice of fools, careful with your foot and the "rash... mouth" and you should "not vow" so that you can enjoy your labour as God intended.
Chapter 6: Chapter 6: But a man can covet his riches kept as the owners thereof to their hurt which is an evil[1] common among men and an evil disease.

This is because Israel went into apostasy with it's false religion so that even the "house of mourning" was not safe. [3]

In Summary: The "song of fools" who make the sacrifice of fools verses the Song of the Lamb and the Corban of Christ, brings you into a net while the latter set the captive free. The gifts that destroy[13] and keeps wisdom far off is from a woman whose heart is a snare and a net. We need to know ourself which results from the wisdom of God which comes if we please God by keeping his commandments.

The Teacher’s Conclusions and The Value of Wisdom

Precious ointment comes to the solemn heart

1 ¶ A good name[2] is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.

3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

Heart of the wise and the fool

4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Song of fools

5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

6 For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.

The gift that destroys

7 Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.

8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

The bosom of fools

9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

10 Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.

11 Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.

True wisdom gives life

12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.[14]

13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?

14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

The Limits of Human Wisdom

15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.

16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?

17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?

Just men give their life

18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.

Ten men

19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.

20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:

Know thyself

22 For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.

Wisdom far off

23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.

24 That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?

25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom,[15] and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness(סִכְלוּת)[16] and madness:

The woman whose heart is a snare

26 And I find more bitter than death the woman(הָֽאִשָּׁה֙)[11], whose heart is snares and nets,[17] and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:

28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman(וְאִשָּׁ֥ה)[11] among all those have I not found.

29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

  13. Destroyers of liberty
"That the man who first ruined the Roman people twas he who first gave them treats and gratuities. But this mischief crept secretly and gradually in, and did not openly make it's appearance in Rome for a considerable time." Plutarch's Life of Coriolanus (c. 100 AD.) This would include Julius Caesar and eventually Augustus Caesar which is why Plutarch also reported, “The real destroyers of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations, and benefits.” This was a major theme of the Bible:
There were tables of welfare which were both snares and a traps as David and Paul stated and Peter warned would make us merchandise and curse children. Proverbs 23 told us not to not eat the "dainties" offered at those tables of Rulers and Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10 we cannot eat of those tables and the table of the Lord. We are not to consent to their covetous systems of One purse or Corban which makes the word of God to none effect.
We know when the masses become accustomed to those benefits of legal charity which are the rewards of unrighteousness provided by benefactors who exercise authority and the Fathers of the earth through the covetous practices that makes men merchandise and curse children as a surety for debt.
  14. God of life and love
Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
John 6:33-34“‭33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. ‭34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.”
Mark 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep... 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.... 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again."
John 13:37-38 “‭Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. ‭38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.”
John 15:13-14 “‭Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ‭14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
"Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof." Matthew 21:43
Matthew 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
1 John 3:16-18 “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ‭17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ‭18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

    1) folly, foolishness
    Only appears in:
Ecclesiastes 1:17 And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly <05531>: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.
Ecclesiastes 2:3 I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly <05531>, till I might see what [was] that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
Ecclesiastes 2:12 And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly <05531>: for what [can] the man [do] that cometh after the king? [even] that which hath been already done. 13 Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly <05531>, as far as light excelleth darkness.
Ecclesiastes 7:25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason [of things], and to know the wickedness of folly<03689 - כֶּסֶל‎ kecel flank, hope>, even of foolishness <05531> [and] madness:
Ecclesiastes 10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: [so doth] a little folly <05531> him that is in reputation for wisdom [and] honour... 13 The beginning of the words of his mouth [is] foolishness <05531>: and the end of his talk [is] mischievous madness.
  17. Table as a snare
Psalms 69:22-23 “Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake."”
Romans 11:9 “And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:”
Proverbs 23:1 "When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee: 2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. 3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat."
Exodus 23:32 "Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. 33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee."
Exodus 34:12 "Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:"
Deuteronomy 7:16 "And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that [will be] a snare unto thee."
Judges 2:2 "And ye shall make no league [covenant] with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?"
Proverbs 1:10 "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."
Proverbs 6:2 “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.” Swear not
Luke 21:34 "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth."
1 Timothy 6:9 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
