The phrase "drink offering"[1] appears 29 times in the text. NunSamechKaf sometimes given the Strong's number 05262 where the Hebrew word "Nacak" נֶסֶךְ[2] appears even more, like nacak numbered 05258 נָסַךְ‎ [3] NunSamechKaf said to mean to pour out, pour, offer, cast.

We see a drink offering in Genesis 35:14 "And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, [even] a pillar of stone: and he poured <wayyassêḵ וַיַּסֵּ֤ךְ 05258 VavYodSamechKaf> a drink offering<neseḵ נֶ֔סֶךְ 05262 NunSamechKaf> thereon, and he poured <03332> oil thereon."

The second word translated poured is 03332 wayyiṣōq וַיִּצֹ֥ק VavYodTzadikKuf.[4]

But we also see the same letters NunSamechKaf in the word 05259 נְסַךְ‎[5] but is translated spread or to weave in Isaiah 25:7 "And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread <05259> over all nations."

NunSamechKaf is also the letters of the word numbered 05260 נְסַךְ[6] translated offer which we see in Daniel 2:46 "Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer <05260> an oblation and sweet odours unto him."

NunSamechKaf is also the letters of the word numbered 05261 נֶסֶךְ[7] and translated drink offering in Ezra 7:17 "That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings <05261>, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which [is] in Jerusalem."

These are all freewill offerings that were a part of a social welfare system which provided for the needy of society strengthening the social bonds of society. Those altars and tables were not a snare or a trap.

Drink offering is said to have been common in the patriarchal period as we see in Genesis 35:14 and was associated with many of the sacrifices (Exodus 29:40).

They could not be poured upon the golden altar of incense (Exodus 30:9) the same as they were not to have strong drink in the vicinity because of a danger of death.[8] But again the metaphor is often missed with the sophistry of the Pharisees.

Others also say these drink offerings were required and accompaniment with all freewill offerings and votive offerings[9] and other established feasts (Numbers 28:14-31; Numbers 29:6-39). The reference in Deuteronomy 32:38 indicates that drink offerings were common features of heathen cultic rituals. Oil and wine, used separately or as a mixture, constituted the normal libation.

In 30 BC, libation-offerings to the genius of Augustus became a duty at public banquets or festivals which were a part of the Roman welfare system. From 12 BC, state oaths were sworn by the genius of the living emperor or persecution would follow. We would see this play out in the trial of Christians in North Africa when Emperor Septimius Severus outlawed private religion, a.k.a. Private welfare which included the daily ministration of the early Church.

The only legally acceptable welfare system was the Public religion run through Imperial Cult of Rome and other government supported temples dependent upon tribute for their support.[10]

These human gods and their temples had a function in society and their governments. That purpose is commonly misunderstood because if we did it might change the world's view of religion and our understanding of pure Religion and what was called His Church and the Kingdom of God.
