* "The wicked desireth the net of evil [men]: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit". Proverbs 12:12
One of the great lies of Modern Christians is that there is nothing you have to do to obtain salvation. While it is true we cannot earn salvation and it will always be a gift it should be clear from the Doctrines of Jesus if we are not Doers of the Word] of the word then we do not really have the faith that saves.
Real Faith compels us to action and to righteousness because if we love God and Jesus we will Keep the Commandments. Our policy in life will be to do what Christ would do because His nature would dwell in us. We know that our faith in the real Jesus is true faith by the fruits of that faith and anyone who tells you differently is not teaching the Doctrines of Jesus.
* Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
* Matthew | * Matthew 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 7 talks about fruits from verse 16 up until verse 20 and then makes a strong distinction where those who say Lord, Lord and do contrary to the will of His Father are counted as workers of iniquity even though they may think they believe and bear fruit.
Something may look like, feel like and even smell like fruit but the manner and The Way it is produced often determines its acceptability to God.
As an example you can provide for the needy and the poor of society through charity so that they are strengthened as we see done through "Pure Religion". Or you may provide for the poor through what has been called "legal charity" which includes the covetous practices of the world which are the pernicious ways of the public religion of the welfare state.
The former is part of the righteousness of God and His kingdom of God which we are supposed to be seeking according to His love. And the latter being based on force rather than charity, fealty rather than faith, and entitlements rather than hope. Such systems of government distributions of wealth would be counted as iniquity rather than righteousness.
Using corrupt means and methods to produce what might have been considered a good outcome ruins the fruit. This precept is repeated throughout the Testaments.

* Luke | * Luke 6:43 "For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes."

* | * John 15:4 "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."

- "The wicked desireth [1] the net of evil [men]: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit".
- Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
- Matthew 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 7 talks about fruits from verse 16 up until verse 20[2] and then makes a strong distinction where those who say Lord, Lord and do contrary to the will of His Father are counted as workers of iniquity even though they may think they believe and bear fruit.[3]
Something may look like, feel like and even smell like fruit but the manner and The Way it is produced often determines its acceptability to God.
As an example you can provide for the needy and the poor of society through charity so that they are strengthened as we see done through "Pure Religion". Or you may provide for the poor through what has been called "legal charity" which includes the covetous practices[4] of the world which are the pernicious ways[5] of the public religion of the welfare state.
- Matthew 12:33 "Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit."
- Matthew 13:8 "But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold."
- Matthew 13:23 "But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."
- Matthew 13:26 "But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also."
