The predominant form of government throughout history has been a Living Network based on 10s, 100s, 1000s as commanded by Christ. They only supported themselves with freewill offerings which the Bible calls charity.

The word Charity does not appear in the Old Testament. But that book which contains instructions, often expressed in metaphor, on how to form a free government with no central king or ruler talks about a governmental system dependent upon a Network that is supported by charity, known as Freewill offerings.

The people who are willing to take benefits provided at the expence of others by any other means than what the Old Testament called freewill offerings and the New called charity are covetous. The bible says they will become merchandise, those who curse children, and a surety for debt. Because they are slothful in their search for the righteousness of God they shall be under tribute. When a ruler or politician offers us benefits "Be not desirous of his danties".[1] But seek ye the kingdom of God and His righteousness which operates by faith, hope, and charity rather than the force, fear, abd fealty of the world.

In order for any society to be free, the way it takes care of its needy must be by freewill offerings or charity. This is the message of the Bible, of John the Baptist and of Christ. Systems that depend on force and Benefactors who exercise authority always become tyrannical, inefficient and corrupt.

Food Stamps, like the Free Bread and circuses of Rome, are an example of how a system of entitlements weakens the people, divides the community, dissipates honor and depletes the Social Virtues. Our whole system of Welfare needs to be reexamined. People will not want to change but those who do must be the change in a Network of true, wise and continuous charity, with daily Charitable Practices.

Freewill offering in the Old Testament is translated from 05071 הבדנ nᵉdabah \@ned-aw-baw’\@ from the verb בדנ^ nadab translated offered willingly[2]

nedabah הבדנ or Nun Daleth Beit Hey is a feminine noun translated freewill offering 15 times, offerings 9, free offering and freely twice each, as well as willing offering, voluntary offering, plentiful, voluntarily, voluntary, willing, willingly.

It is defined 1) voluntariness, free-will offering

1a) voluntariness
1b) freewill, voluntary, offering

Why were these offerings mentioned so much in the Bible? That was how the nation of Israel supported its government, by faith, hope and charity and the perfect law of liberty.

Freewill offerings as the noun הבדנ nᵉdabah appears in at least 25 verses from Exodus to Amos.[3] And as a verb we see it another 15 times from Exodus to Nehemiah.[4] The same three Hebrew letters NunDelethBeit form a verb[5] given another Strongs number 05069 appearing several more times often referring to priests or Levites offerings past up through a network of ministers.[6]

The same letters is said to form the name Nadab which is said to me generous.[7]

There are other words like minchah containing the Hebrew letters MemChetNunHey החנמ that also mean an offering as a gift[8] which appears over 200 times from Genesis to Malachi.

And term minchah[9] also appears some times with another Strong's number assigned to it.

The word offering is a thing offered, especially as a gift or contribution. In the Bible this might be an "animal as sacrificial offerings" or in modern times we may see it as something which "you may place offerings in the basket" as a contribution, especially of money, to a church. An offering can be a thing offered as a religious sacrifice or token but what makes the offering truly religious or a part of what James calls Pure Religion?

There are numerous words translated offering within the Torah. They are almost all about Charity yet the word charity, which is also translated love every time Christ says it, is not found anywhere in the Old Testament.

How can this be?

The truth is that the Old Testament had the same message as the New Testament concerning love and mercy, the law and the weightier matters. There was the same need for faith, hope and charity and the perfect law of liberty. The truth is that most Modern Christians do not understand the Old Testament because of the Sophistry of the Pharisee type ministers that have twisted the truth and meaning of the text in order to tickle the ears of the people in false religion.

Upon examination of the context, language and theme of the Bible from beginning to end it is clear that God's message is and always has been about freely giving and forgiving in love rather than forcing contributions as is the covetous practices of modern societies and the governments they produce.

Offering | Korban
Korab | Minchah
Necek | Nedabah
Shelem | Tenuwphah
Teruwmah

One is teruwmah[10] Which appears as offering more than 50 times but also oblation or gift.

And tenuwphah[11]

Another term like Korban[12] is from the word Korab[13] as found in the Torah in relation to the worship of Ancient Israel which was an offering for the practice of Pure Religion.

Another of word is olah[14] which is associated with the meaning of root alah[15] which has to to with up or ascend and contains the same Hebrew letters.

Also there is necek [16] from nacak [17] meaning to pour out or cover.

And shelem [18] is translated peace offering over 80 times. The term korban shelamim (קורבן שלמים) is rendered "peace offering". A modern Jewish encyclopedia suggests that there are three kinds of peace-offering: (1) the thank-offering; (2) the votive-offering; and (3) the free-will offering. But M. M. Kalisch says that the shelamim were "safety-offerings." They were connected with the essential to a secure existence.[19]

There are also words that include the word offering to translate their meaning like chattaah[20] meaning sin offering.

And ishshah [21] meaning a burnt-offering.

There are root words like zabach [22] which are used to produce words like Altars which also is translated offer or sacrifice.

Types of offerings

Some categorize the offerings of the Old Testaments into five divisions:

the Burnt Offerings,
the Grain Offering,
the Peace Offering or Sin offering[23],
the Purification Offering, and
the Reparation Offering.

You will also see the sin offering, wave offering, freewill offerings and even drink offering.

All these offerings had some descriptions to give us some idea of their meaning or purpose. But through Sophistry the true meaning and purpose has been lost in a plethora of theologies and mindless rituals unmoored from their original purpose.

Understanding what the Burnt Offerings purpose was is key to understanding the altars of Clay and Stone. Only then can you connect the essential to understanding the types of offerings and their purpose. Israel was a government without rulers, a nation with no king.

The grain offering was to worship God and acknowledge His provision by sharing those provisions given you to and with others. Grain could almost be used as money and precious. It was the lack of grain that brought them into bondage and could mean famine and death.

The peace offering is often considered a propitiatory or conciliatory offering because of some offence. It appears in Hebrew as [24] It is from a word that means "to be at peace" so, in fact, it is an offering "to bring peace". This often means paying recompense. It is also said to mean "to be complete, be sound". It could be cakes or leavened bread as a thanksgiving.

In 1 Samuel 13 Saul forces a burnt offering and a peace offering because he needs support for a war he sees coming. Samuel says his kingdom will not stand because he has done this foolish thing.

1 Samuel 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
