- Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Conversation with Jim was on the same Facebook sight but talked about saving Social Security. In fact he wants to save the government and return to a constitutional government with Republican values. The two ideas contradict each other. Social security is either a tontine system, a socialist system or patrimonial system of benefits from men who call themselves Benefactors but exercise authority one over the other, or possibly all three. It is very similar to the system of Corban started by the Pharisees and Herod that Jesus said made the word of God to none effect.
In any case it is bankrupt and has no place in a Pure Republic.
- Mark 2:22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
Christ told us to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. He did not come to fix Imperial Cult of Rome.
- Luke 5:37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
