Friends of His Church trusts may operate in the world in order to provide assistance and services to the Church by permission of the Church under the direction and authority of the Church. It within the the authority of the Church and not merely an Auxiliary of the Church which are "related to a church or convention or association of churches, but are not such organizations themselves."

Q and A

Yes. Because it is entirely funded by the Church it remains a Sacred Purpose Trust because the Church remains in control of the corpus of the what is held.

  • Aren’t “burnt offerings given to the Church” “Church funds”?

Yes.

When we see a burnt offering or Freewill offerings made by the people we see funds go from one hand to another.

The power and control over those funds shifts entirely from one to another.

Those are Freewill offerings or what was called burnt offerings given upon living Altars for the purposes of Christ and His Holy Spirit.

The purpose of the Church is service and such trusts may be valuable to the performance of that service to God and our fellow man, including but not limited to:

The day-to-day expenses of a Church may be cared for through a Friends of His Church trusts to add oversight, divide the responsibility to carry out regular tasks, facilitate the functions of the Church and empower elders to be of service to the congregation by assisting the minister in the performance of his work for Christ.

It may also be of value because everything that is given may not be entirely clean and may need to be held in trust for a time.

In other words what is given up may be given up entirely by the donor but that which was donated may have others who have an interest in what was given.

To understand we may ask a few questions about the meaning of the original Tabernacle which was the expression of a pattern found in the structure of the Temple in Jerusalem. An examination of these structures may bring all this and the principles of God into perspective:

Why were there Inner courts and Outer courts at the Temple in Jerusalem?
What could be brought in the Outer court?
Where was the Laver but in the Inner court?
All these areas were a part of what was called the Temple in Jerusalem. [1]

Before one could enter the outer Court they came to the Court of the Gentile.

The Outer Court was still inside the "The Sacred Enclosure" while the Court of the Gentile was outside. The power to direct or release funds of the Church held by a Friends of His Church trusts originates within His Church.

His Church Guidelines and [His Church Ministrative Guidelines http://www.hisholychurch.org/declarations/church/GuidelinesMinistrative.pdf] for each His Church applies equally to all Friends of His Church trusts.

  • When you donate to your church would you put an IOU in the collection basket?

Of course not.

But if you donate a bank note or even a check you are saying that the bank owes the Church. The Church has not really received the value of your offering yet. It will have to go somewhere else to get the value.

If you gave a Federal Reserve Note what you are doing is offering the Church a third party note with seals of the US Treasury and the Federal Reserve who are parties to the note.

So the public use of the note has been given up entirely to the Church but the note itself still has some ownership ties to others.

  • So should the Church demand all tithes be in just weights and measures?

No.

The Church does not accumulate gold and silver where thieves and robbers can brake in and steal it. The Church seeks to put up spiritual treasures by giving back to the people in righteous ways that strengthen them spiritual and physically so that both the Church and the people may be blessed of God.

It teaches them forgiveness and charity, honor and honesty, sacrifice and service.

  • So what should the Church do with such a note or anything that only has a legal title?

The business of the Church is love which is charity. Funds in the form of notes need to be kept in the court of the Gentiles or at the most in The Outer Court which includes The Court of the Treasury.

  • Why doesn't the Church just open its own accounts.

Well the Church could do that legally as we can show (see Free Church Report) but modern banks are often operating from a place of fear and intimidation by bank auditors. Banks only want to open accounts for individuals who have Social Security Numbers. The ordained ministers cannot have such numbers unless their congregation files an SS16 which is an irrevocable application for Social Security benefits which an ordained minister may not do. See Appendix on Accords of the Free Church Report

The Church has the obligation imposed by Christ to feed His Sheep. But it cannot bring many things offered to it within the inner Living Stones of the temple. But it may still be able to use those things for the fulfillment of its obligation to be the Benefactors who do not exercise authority over the people.

Yes.

We see them in the Old Testament as the Nethinims.

Nethinim (or Netinim, or Nathinites or Nathineans) (Hebrew: הַנְּתִינִים‎, means "the given ones") was the name given to the Temple assistants in ancient Jerusalem.

The Nethinims were lodged near what some called the "House of the Nethinim " at Ophel, which was facing towards the east wall of Jerusalem so as to be near the Temple. While the term Nethinims is applied to Temple officials it was not used until their returning from Babylon. The role they played stems back at least to the Porters of the temple and King David.

There is a lot of information about them that comes from times of apostasy. While they were to serve the bidding of the Levites they were not slaves but servants. Because there were some protection and advantages in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Levites they were separate from the vows of the Levites.

We should not try to make to much of these positions nor attempt to duplicate them but merely understand that it was common for the Levites who were priests of a nation to enlist the help of people not a part of that priesthood to perform certain tasks under their direction.

One may be of the world, and elder or individual or person, and the other is a recognized minister who is of His Church who receives the offering.

When we see funds move from His Church to friends of His Church no such transfer is made.

The control of the funds still belongs to the Church. The elder, who as a friend of the Church, merely holds the funds for the minister. It is a position of trust but the funds are already consecrated and remain so until they are distributed by the authority of the Minister who holds that right on behalf of Christ

  • "-“Trust property” means property held for the purpose of Christ by His church, other than trust money, received by the Church for the purpose of sale or reconversion."
  • -A “depository” is the specified locations, institutions, accounts, facilities where moneys and other valuables are kept by the authorized ministers of the Church for safe keeping.
  • -A “repository” is a place or person used to keep moneys and other valuables held for the Church for safe keeping.
  • -A “trust” means everything freely placed on the altar of God, and given entirely to God, and in the care of those ministers of God’s church who also belong entirely to His Sacred Purpose.
  • -“Trustee” means any individual appointed or elected by grantors and/or appointed by Protectors of an active Church Commission or Congregation of record. To “worship” means to pay homage to the Father or the Son;
  • Official Ministrative Church Commission and Sacred Purpose Guidelines, 1 Define Terms
  • These Ministrative Guidelines must continue to apply to Friends of His Church trust because the funds have not changed ownership, merely "physical" possession.

His Church holds property rights in these offerings as a Sacred Purpose Trust or a consecrated trust or separate trust where things are given for a separate purpose than that of the world from which they came.

Because of the nature of these offerings like "bank notes" which includes the promises of other parties of the world and "legal titles" that do not include the Beneficial Use the Church may ask elders to hold such property.

In the Old Testament certain animals were not allowed in the sanctuary. They had to be kept outside. Even the temple has levels of entry. There are reason for this not based on statutes but upon principles in creation and the Law of Nature which may include international laws such as Jus Gentium.

People can study to try to understand the principles of the Law of Nations to ".. enable specialists as well as general readers to trace International Law from its faint and unconscious beginnings to its present ample proportions and to forecast with some degree of certainty its future development into that la which Mirabeau tells us will one day rule the world." http://fama2.us.es/fde/ocr/2010/jusGentium_Introduction.pdf

All the information that can be stored in our minds about these systems is beyond the understanding of many people and the capacity to understand by others. All this pales to understanding love and charity. It is changing the way we relate in the world from a place of slothful selfishness to a place of diligent service and forgiveness and thanksgiving that we will gain the grace of the true ruler of the world.

In order to do that we must change the way we think.

We cannot do that anymore than we created ourselves.

But we can be changed.

The world is willing to change us but if we conform to the simplicity of Christ's gospel His Spirit will also Change us.

Footnotes

  1. Temples in nations served more than the purpose of appeasing superstition. The funds had a Welfare purpose in the practice of Pure Religion. All these structures including the Temple in Jerusalem are symbols of principles that are both physical according to the Law of Nature and Spiritual according to the righteous Spirit of God.
Some funds could not enter the Temple's Inner court. They had to be changed first. You could not tithe to the temple with foreign coin or currency.
It was common for governments to require taxes to be paid in the coin of the realm. While the Church is one form of government it does not collect taxes because that would be exercising authority one over the other which it is not allowed to do.
So His Church does receive tithes in the form of Freewill offerings from the people gathered in congregations of Tens. Neither the Church nor the Temple in Jerusalem were to "coin" money, that is to say, it did not denominate or designate the value of money. There was money in the form of what we call a coin but it was based on just weights and measure. It was Real Money.
