Garment of righteousness
- Job 29:14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment [was] as a robe and a diadem.
- Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [himself] with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth [herself] with her jewels.
- Psalms 132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
- Isaiah 59:17 "For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke."
- Jude 1:21 "Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."
- The warp and weft of Christ weaves a garment of righteousness through faith and mercy but the vanity of man's mind may weave a pattern of confusion that weakens the fabric of society. Free Assemblies bound by a doctrine of love instead of the authority of one over the other allows charity instead of force, forgiveness instead of vengeance. Through love the people may weave a network of righteousness.
