Stoning someone to death = taking someone to the court made up of the Living Stones of Christ and the verdict is banishment, excommunication, being evicted from the community. It does not mean to pick up rocks and throw them at someone to murder them. Thou Shall Not Kill.
Stoning someone to death was like taking someone to the court made up of the Living Stones and producing  the verdict of shunning in side the imaginary walls of society or  banishment outside the gates. It was excommunication, being evicted from the community and the [[Welfare|welfare]] system of God.
