| Leadership And Humility |
| Elders were heads of these families in free assemblies who gathered in ranks of 10s, 50s, 100s and thousands according to The Way Christ commanded. |
| To feed the flock does not mean to rule but nourish [1] and the same word poimaino we also see in John 21:16 "He saith to him again the second time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep" but the word really means to focuse on "tending" to my sheep. |
| But in John 21:17 "He saith unto him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep." We see the word bosko translated feed too but it means shepherd.[2] |

| These instructions coincide with those of Christ when he appointed the kingdom in Luke 22:26 But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. |
| The apostles were One form of government because they were appointed a government but did not exercise authority one over the other. |
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
