The "will of God" Appears
The phrase "will of God" appears some 23 times in the New Testament and is first used by Christ in Mark 3:35 "For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."
This emphases on being a doer of the word of God which is an expression of the "will of God" is an essential part of the the doctrine of Jesus and the Bible.
Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
Romans 1:10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 15:32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
We also see the phrase the "will of the Lord" in Acts 21:14 "And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done." and in Ephesians 5:17 "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." This is just another way of expressing the idea of the "will of God" because the father and son are one.
We also see "will of my Father" in Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." and in Matthew 12:50 "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." And of course by reason and observation anyone not doing the will of the father is not a true believer nor do they love Christ even if they say they do.
There are other verses where the idea of the will of God is clearly expressed as divinely important:
Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
And even in the Old Testament we see in Ezra 7:18 And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.
