This page is put here to be able to show the foolishness and fallacies of many of these so called religious beliefs. It is under construction.

According to several authors Dominionism can be defined in its simplest form. the right to exercise dominion.

The word dominion is said to mean "Control or the exercise of control; sovereignty." and may include "A territory or sphere of influence or control; a realm." and also may be like, "A self-governing nation under the nominal rule" like "the British monarch"[1] or the kingdom of God.

Dominionism is "The theory or doctrine that Christians have a divine mandate to assume positions of power and influence over all aspects of society and government." and it may also be "The belief that God gave humans the right to exercise control over the natural world."[1] Dominion over the "natural world" is different than "power and influence over all aspects of society and government." Still there is "A tendency among some conservative Christians, especially in the USA, to seek influence or control over secular civil government through political action."[1]

Christian Dominionism is a political approach by some where what they call Christian faith is based on a literal interpretation of Genesis Chapter 1 verses 26 – 28 of the Christian Bible. [2]

Believers perceive themselves as the “chosen” or the “elect”, commanded by God to “subdue” the earth and “have dominion” over all living "creatures". But that biblical dominion did not include exercising authority over your fellowman.

Most of the articles talk about Christians as wanting to have dominion and are clearly designed to bash "Christians" as a threat to real freedom because they think that Christians are chosen to rule the world. Real Christians are not to be even "of the world" but that world was "an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government".

Many religions in one form or another have this same thought from Jews to Muslims. Yes, some calling themselves Christians have thought that too. But if a Christian is a follower of Christ then we would want to ask Christ and not just someone who claims to be a Christian.

Some think that the goal of Christian Dominionism in the United States is to abolish Separation of Church and State, establishing it as a distinctively Christian Nation based upon Old Testament Mosaic Law.

Most Christians do not believe in Old Testament Mosaic Law but Jesus did because he understood it as it was meant to be before the twisting interpretations of the Pharisees. Modern Christians do not understand the Old Testament Mosaic Law nor do they understand the "Kingdom of God".

Dominionism is a broad term that contains many divergent groups "claiming a foundation in Christianity”.

All Christians are NOT Dominionists in the same way or meaning because according to Christ who came to set men free from the rule of man over man.

It is a growing movement supported by political Christians who teach that America is a nation built on a singular religion, Christianity – and all citizens are to be subject to laws and rules that are in accordance with their Dominionist version of reality. But Pure Religion is not the same as Public religion any more than fervent charity is not the same as Legal charity or the seeking the righteousness of God is not the same as the covetous practices of the world.

Political Dominionism can be an extreme version of false Christianity which has co-opted conservative politics in America which are in need of repentance.

“What is Dominionism ?”

By Caleb

Many have written about Dominionism on the internet including scholars, journalists and researchers. We must be willing to look outside of the box of what we think politics is to get an accurate picture.

Dominion is an English word defined in the dictionary as,

  1. Control or the exercise of control; sovereignty:
  2. A territory or sphere of influence or control; a realm.

A question must be addressed. Is this control collective? Or is it result of the influence of individuals?

In the words of Evangelical Preacher George Grant, the definition of the goals of the many Dominionist leaders is,…

“Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ — to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness. But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice. It is dominion we are after. Not just influence. It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time. It is dominion we are after. World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less..." From The Changing of the Guard: Biblical Principles for Political Action by George Grant, published in 1987 by Dominion Press.

George served as an assistant to D. James Kennedy at the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida.

Here is another perspective from Gary North…

“So let us be blunt about it: We must use the doctrine of religious liberty to gain independence for Christian schools until we train up a generation of people who know that there is no religious neutrality, no neutral law, no neutral education, and no neutral civil government. Then they will be get busy in constructing a Bible-based social, political and religious order which finally denies the religious liberty of the enemies of God.”

Genesis 1:26, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

Where is the real error in this thinking?

Genesis 1:28, "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

In both verses the word "dominion" is translated from the Hebrew "radah" (Strongs H7287), and is defined in Strong's as: "to rule, have dominion, dominate, tread down; to have dominion, rule, subjugate; to cause to dominate; to scrape out, to scrape, scrape out"

Black's 5th defines "Dominion. Generally accepted definition of 'dominion' is perfect control in right of ownership. The word implies both title and possession and appears to require a complete retention of control over disposition."

Black's goes on to define "Dominium. In the civil and old English law, ownership; property in the largest sense, including both right of property and the right of possession or use. The mere right of property, as distinguished from the possession or usufruct. the right which a lord had in the fee of his tenant."

Dominion sounds a lot like "allodium" including both equitable and legal titles.

Black's 5th; Allodium. Land held absolutely in one's own right, and not of any lord or superior; land not subject to feudal duties or burdens. An estate held by absolute ownership, without recognizing any superior to whom any duty is due on account thereof.

The Father is granting to His people, His sons dominion over His creation; however, the caveat is that we keep His commandments. He granted us dominion, not jurisdiction. He is still Creator, Father and King over His creation, but to His faithful Sons, He grants true title of ownership.

Have we given dominion to another god or gods. So we have to be the ones to give it back to our true Father, so that His will may be done and we can truly inherit ownership and dominion once again. Return every man to his family and to his property.
