Double Samech

The Hebrew word ססַנָ nacac[1] (naw-sas’) is said to be a primitive root like the identical Hebrew word nacac numbered 05264 and contains the Double Samech (ססַנָ) which we see associated with the altar of Jehovahnissi.

This Hebrew word nacac numbered 05264[2] is said to mean "lifted up as an ensign". 

As a verb he Hebrew word ססַנָ nacac[1] numbered 05263 is said to mean "to be sick" but translated "standardbearer".

Some will translate Isaiah 10:18 "And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer <05263 nacac[1] > fainteth.

Holman Christian Standard Bible

"his forests and orchards as a sickness consumes a person."

New American Standard Bible

"his forest and of his fruitful garden, both soul and body, And it will be as when a sick man wastes away.

King James Bible

"his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth."

International Standard Version

"its forest and its fruitful land the LORD will destroy— both soul and body— and Assyria will be as when a dying man wastes away."

American Standard Version

"his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and it shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth."

Young's Literal Translation

"his forest, and his fruitful field, From soul even unto flesh He doth consume, And it hath been as the fainting of a standard-bearer."

It should also be noted that the word Macac[3]‎ translated in different versions as fainteth, wastes away, and consume also contains a Double Samech but only when it appears in Isaiah 10:18.

Nahum 2:10

In Zechariah 9:16 we see, "And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for [they shall be as] the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign <05264> upon his land."

In both the Holman Christian Standard Bible and the New American Standard Bible נָסַס‎ nacac, given the number 05264[2] is translated "Sparkling" in His land.

While we see the Double Samech in the text they are framed with the letter TavNunVav...VavTav and appear as miṯnōwssōwṯ (מִֽתְנוֹסְס֖וֹת MenTavNunVavSamechSameckVavTav)


Understanding altars of clay and stone and the purpose and function of the altar of Jehovahnissi is essential to understanding  ססַנָ nacac
