Which spirit

In both the Old and New Testaments there is reference to writing upon your heart and your mind.

We see this in Proverbs 3[1] and again in Proverbs 7.[2]

We also see this idea expressed in Jeremiah 31:33[3] where this revelation is put in your inner parts so that they will be written on your heart and mind which we see this Jeremiah quote referenced in Hebrews[4]

This idea of writing directly upon the hearts and minds of the people seems to be a spiritual event of revelation as opposed to a flesh and blood caused event. It is how Peter knew the answer to a question about the identity of Christ and why the Keys of the Kingdom was given to him and then to all the apostles.

It is the acceptance of and actions compelled by the Holy Spirit that makes individuals His "People" where they are not taught by flesh and blood learning[5] nor eating of the Tree of knowledge.

The question should immediately arise as to how do we know it is the Holy Spirit and not a strong delusion?

What were the warnings of the Apostles?

How do we check[6] ourselves concerning the Holy Spirit?

That answer can be pursued in our examination of whether we are doers of the word[7] or workers of iniquity.

Jesus was adamant about being a doer of the word.[8]

This is not suggesting that you earn salvation by works but like James repeats that if their is no works you have clear evidence that you have no real faith and may simply be deceiving yourself and under a strong delusion.

The Bible does not say you can knowingly do evil and still be counted among the followers of Christ or saved.[9]

Even Paul gives us long lists of people who will Not inherit the kingdom.[10]

While Paul says we are saved by faith he gives us the criteria where we can measure if our faith is real faith to faith.[11] and continues with another long list whereby we can measure if our faith is to faith or if it is a lie:

John warns us to try the spirit to see if it is the Holy Spirit because all those who claim to be believers and followers are not truly following the Holy Spirit.[33] While he includes the confession of faith that faith is not merely what you say but also includes what you do. Confessing Jesus is Christ is confessing in word and deed that he is the king and benefactors of your life.[34]
