Supplication
Supplication is a form of prayer where a person humbly asks a higher power or someone in authority for help or a favor. It often involves earnest and respectful requests made in a spirit of reverence.
The Hebrew word ChetNunNun or chanan[1] is translated mercy, gracious, merciful, and supplication. Is a reference to Jacob's spirit when he became Israel.
We also see Saul use another term ChetLamedHey חָלָה or chalah[2] before he foolishly forces an offering of the people which will cost him his kingdom.

“2 The LORD <03068> hath also a controversy <07379> with Judah <03063>, and will punish <06485> Jacob <03290> according to his ways <01870>; according to his doings <04611> will he recompense <07725> 3 He took his brother <0251> by the heel <06117> in the womb <0990>, and by his strength <0202> he had power <08280> with God <0430>: 4 Yea, he had power <07786> over the angel <04397>, and prevailed <03201>: he wept <01058> (8804), and made supplication <02603> unto him: he found <04672> him in Bethel <01008>, and there he spake with us;” Hosea 12:2-4, AV
