The oil[1] lamp may bring light where there was only darkness before if we are will to ignite and burn the oil[1] God has given us according to the divine spark and word of God.

Oil[1] in many Scriptures often is used as a a metaphor that can symbolize wealth or abundance, but also health, energy, and life itself.

The Holy Spirit is also associated with anointing of the Spirit of God that may include the power that comes with the in dwelling or presence of that Holy Spirit.

Because consecration oil[1] marked men for service, Scripture naturally employs shemen as a metaphor for the Spirit’s empowering presence.

David prays, “Do not take Your Holy Spirit from me” (Psalms 51:11) after recalling Samuel’s anointing.

The anticipated “Anointed One” of Daniel 9:25 carries the same idea. In Psalms 133:2 unity is “like precious oil on the head, running down on the beard… on Aaron’s beard,” connecting the priestly anointing with a spiritual blessing in service to the community.

Proverbs pairs oil with wise stewardship: “Precious treasure and oil are in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man consumes them” (Proverbs 21:20).

Pastoral care includes wise generosity to the need so that what is given does not weaken them with an,over supply of ministry resources.

Ecclesiastes counsels with gladness: “Let your clothes(בְגָדֶ֖יךָ) always be white(וְשֶׁ֖מֶן), and never spare the oil(וְשֶׁ֖מֶן) on your head” (Ecclesiastes 9:8).

We see it used from the anointing of kings to the consecrating priests. Again the pouring of oil represents the Holy Spirit coming upon an individual to enable, guide, and bless them with a divine directive and support.

Leviticus 2:4 "And if thou bring an oblation <07133> of a meat offering baken in the oven, [it shall be] unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil. 5 And if thy oblation <07133-Corban> [be] a meat offering [baken] in a pan, it shall be [of] fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil."
Leviticus 22:18 "Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever [he be] of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation<07133-Corban> for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings<05071>, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering; 19  Ye shall offer at your own will ..."
