The Noahide laws are a set of seven laws that are considered to be universal moral laws that apply to all people. The laws are found in the book of Genesis.
- Do not worship idols
- Do not curse or blaspheme God
- Do not commit murder
- Do not commit adultery or sexual immorality
- Do not steal
- Do not eat flesh torn from a living animal
- Establish courts of justice
These laws are considered to be the minimum moral duties required and considered to be the basic statutes to guard a universal monotheism. They are foundational and provide a legal framework for all people.
Just like the Ten Commandments what the original text meant is often distorted, degenerated, and even destroyed by private interpretation.
