Montanism
Montanism held views about the basic tenets of Christian theology similar to those of the wider Christian Church, but it was labelled a heresy for its belief in new prophetic figures. The prophetic movement called for a reliance on the revelation of the Holy Spirit and a more conservative personal ethic.
They say the Church was elder driven by the Spirit moving in the hearts and minds of the people. Of course, the clergy of the Church needs also be moved by the Holy Spirit but how do the people recognize those who are of that Spirit without that Spirit also living in them. So, in essence the wider Christian Church must always be driven by the Holy Spirit if anyone is to learn the Song of the Lamb.
They were those who says that they had an apocalyptic expectations, and strict ascetic discipline. But it seems to be their belief in new prophetic figures. New prophecy was predicted in the New Testament and seen.[1]
