The definition of Supreme is "(of authority or an office, or someone holding it) superior to all others." and one definition of a being is someone who is alive and in existence.

We may think of a supreme being as a God or gods of the world.

The Bible tells us that Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

Religion was defined 200 years ago as “Real piety in practice[1], consisting in the performance of all known duties to God and our fellow men” and it is simply how a nation, a people, or a society takes care of its needy and therefore serve the God or gods they have chosen for themselves.[2]

Over time Religion was redefined by men to mean what you think about a supreme being.

Over time Religion was redefined by men to mean what you think about a supreme being.

So which definition is correct?

The Bible which mentions religion only 5 times four of which in a derogatory sense. Both the Old and New testaments say that we are to love our neighbor and even our enemy. In old and new testaments it tells you to do that with Freewill offerings or what we call charity. In both Old and New testaments we are prohibited from coveting or in any way forcing our neighbor to contribute to our welfare.

Today, almost every government has men who call themselves Benefactors but who force the people to perform their "duty" to their fellow man and the gods of those systems of the World tell you what that duty is. The Church established by Jesus Christ saved millions of people during the decline of the Imperial Cult of Rome.

The original Christian conflict was about how to perform that duty to our fellowman. Should we do it by force and power or by love and charity?

Eventually people like Constantine would introduce a new type of Church which was the root or mother of the churches of the Modern Christians. They do some charity but depend on a man who Exercises authority one over the other. That man becomes the Supreme being who is "(of authority or an office, or someone holding it) superior to all others."

This second type of Church was a vain proud church with its own vicar of a Supreme being. The people who found it attractive sought to rule over other people with a different idea. They were content to take life and set rulers over the people.

The daughters of that church also seek to rule over the people. They are no different than the socialist except in degree for all have sought to enslave their neighbors through Covetous Practices instead of Charitable Practices. They are all self righteous in their vain persons.[3]

They changed the meaning of Religion. religious people like Lady Godiva continued to do the same as men fell in love with ruling over their neighbor during the rise of kings and an authoritarian governments.

Most of what you see posing as modern religion is just vain philosophies of people who are either Slothful in their duties to their fellow man or are also in love with the idea of ruling over their neighbor in Socialist schemes. None of that has to do with Pure Religion or the Righteousness of God ...
