Misinformation and apathy I see news stories not semi reporting the Justina story' Like the one on Charlie Butts OneNewsNow.com is full of incorrect information but the comments show even more ignorance and the very root of the problem which is the Modern American attitude. Read more. which stated "another doctor took over and the patient was taken to Boston Children's Hospital against the parents' wishes". This was not true. The parents took Justina to Boston Children's Hospital because the surgeon that had been her doctor moved there and they came to see him. He wasn't in yet so another doctor came to see her and altered the diagnoses and treatment that had been ongoing and saved her life more than once.
Massachusetts lawmakers are getting involved in the Justina Pelletier case and have begun circulating a resolution asking the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to initiate the process of releasing the teenager to her parents."Removing a child from her family is reserved for only the most egregious circumstances where evidence of malicious intent, negligence or the blatant inability to care for the child is present." from the article... Commentary: The truth is hundreds of families are torn apart on a regular bases by children services. They did not get national attention. They were financially destroyed and emotionally devastated often with no happy outcome...The truth is children services with the bias aid of children's or family courts, overzealous psych evaluations, the deft ears of the media have had far to much power for years and power corrupts. This has been going on for decades because of the apathy of the people and their churches who have failed to do what Christ said, attend to the "weightier matters". This story is really about the people in society that think they are good because they go to Church, synagogues and mosques etc.

Why HHC cares

Christ warned us in Matthew 23:23 "Woe unto you... for ye... have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone." You cannot attend to the weightier matters in Church. You do that on the streets and in the courts and in the institutions of power and corruption in high places. You do it by standing up and standing together for righteousness.

I have seen stories like this up-close. I Have seen this kind of thing and worse happen to many families for decades all over the country. It comes about because bureaucracies are given to much power by the apathy and complacency of the people who do not love their neighbor as themselves.

Many of them go to church and think they are saved but because of their sloth and denial they become workers of iniquity by omission.

When you actively care about Justina as if she was your daughter then your daughter will be safer. Until then no one's daughter is safe.

Doctor Frances is terribly concerned that the new diagnostic manual for doctors all over America (DSM 5) will cause the "misdiagnosis of tens of millions of people and an even greater misuse of potentially harmful medication". He believes the authors of the new manual "are researchers who have worked in ivory tower settings with little experience in how the diagnostic manual is often misunderstood and misused in actual practice."
