Persevere
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" Ephesians 6:18
The Greek word proskarteresis [1] only appears once in the Bible and is translated as "perseverance ". As we can see there are many other words that mean virtually the same thing.
Continue
To persevere means to continue and we find a similar word proskartereo[2] from two words: the preposition pros and kartereo meaning steadfast which is almost always translated to some form of continue'. It is defined, "to adhere to one.... to be devoted or constant... to be steadfastly attentive unto".[3]
