For though the soul gives a man his worth, the world first beholds the garments in which he walks. Clothing, like language and gesture, becomes a sign, a symbol by which others measure dignity, authority, and belonging.

Clothes makes the man, not because fabric gives him worth, but because in the eyes of others who see no deeper than the cut of his tailor believe it announces who he claims to be.

“Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.” Mark Twain

  • “And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:” Exodus 28:42

"The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." Samuel Johnson

“‎‭7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? ‎‭8 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses. ‎‭9 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. ‎‭10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.” Matthew 11:7-10

"You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe[1]

"The measure of a man is not how many servants he has but how many men he serves." Dwight L. Moody

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Nothing worthwhile is easy. Your ability to overcome unfavorable situations will provide you with time to demonstrate your true strength and determination for success. Always set your standards high, your greatest achievements lie within the infinite feats you achieve in your life." Martin Luther King, Jr.
