Is Adullam just a place or is there a deeper more significant meaning?
- לָּמִי Lahmi can be a personal name that means "my bread" but we also see in 1 Chronicles 20:5, Lahmi who is identified as the brother of Goliath, who was killed by David's warrior Elhanan. So, Lahmi is also said to mean “my war”.
- Lo can mean "not" or "no" and Ammi can mean "my people".
Together this can mean a people rejected for their lack of faith or people at war with God because they reject The way of God.
The precise meaning of Hebrew words often depends heavily on the specific context and surrounding Hebrew words in the biblical verse where the term appears.
The letters מִי MemYod often means “who”. Genesis 3:11, "Who told thee that thou wast naked?"
