David French is an attorney, political commentator, and New York Times best-selling author. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he served as a lecturer at Cornell Law School and spent much of his career representing religious liberty cases as senior counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice and the Alliance Defending Freedom. He is the past president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education and is a senior fellow at the National Review Institute. French is currently the senior editor of The Dispatch and a columnist for Time, having previously served as a staff writer for National Review. His latest book Divided We Fall: America's Secession Threat and How to Restore Our Nation.

French talks about the "Law of Group Polarization" which produce "supper clusters" which define their "Overton Window" of acceptible discourse.

He ponders as to what has narrowed that window. The answer might be summed up with the phrase "the ideology of ideologues".

ideology, "a system of ideas and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy."

ideologue is, "an adherent of an ideology, especially one who is uncompromising and dogmatic."

The distinction of the outcome of an ideology will hinge upon it's "elements".

The answer to two question may need to be explored: How small is the "l" in "small l-liberalism"?

And what are the "elements" of true "religious liberty and associational liberty" that will cultivate their success and prosperity?

David French asked will we compromise our morality to alley our selves with a leader.

He says character and policy is required for his vote but the truth is that he is the "blind" in both areas and easily manipulated by the media and suffering from the mass psychosis of modern Christianity.

While his vision is undermined by that psychosis he is right that it is far more important what we do on the local level than the presidential level.

Modern Christians have already not only allied themselves with FDR, LBJ, and others but contracted with them engaging in covetous practices.
