Samuel Adams, Boston Gazette, October 5, 1772:

  • “It is in the Interest of Tyrants to reduce the People to Ignorance and Vice. For they cannot live in any Country where Virtue and Knowledge prevail. The Religion and public Liberty of a People are intimately connected; their Interests are interwoven, they cannot subsist separately; and therefore they rise and fall together. For this Reason it is always observable, that those who are combined to destroy the People’s Liberties, practice every Art to poison their Morals.”

The greatest enemy of "Virtue and Knowledge" is the dainties from the tables of welfare offered by rulers which David and Paul said were a snare and a trap.

Such systems of legal charity take away the sight of the people as well as their liberty.

The greater the appetite the ore they are ruined.

“The real destroyers of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations, and benefits.” Plutarch

Those claiming to believe the Bible, or Christ should have known "He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live." Proverbs 15:27

  • "And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." Luke 12:15

This undoutedly why were told:

To say nothing about Peter's warnings about covetous practices and Jesus' command about benefactors who exercise authority.[1]

The construction of the United States federal government by the terms of the constitution and other subsequent acts is that of an indirect democracy. The president has all the power of the Imperial Emperors of Rome. That President is elected by an electoral college and his office has grown exponentially in power because the people have become increasingly dependant upon the State as their conscripted fathers.

  1. Not exercise authority
Matthew 20:25 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you:..."
Mark 10:42 "But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you:..."
Luke 22:25 "And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye [shall] not [be] so:..."
