- Are you cursed?
- Are you cursing others?
- What is this thing we read about in the Bible called a curse?
We see the word curse[1] first in Genesis 3 when God says the serpent[2] is cursed above all living creatures[3] because he plotted and tempted to get Adam and Eve to disobey God.[4]
So the curse came "Because thou hast done this". We see the same word used when Adam and Eve were cursed because they disobeyed and denied the responsibility for what they did in that disobedience. And again when Cain slue his brother and hid the evidence of his sin in the ground.
But in Genesis 8[5] we see a completely different word translated into the English word curse.[6] God seems to be saying that because man sacrificed that he would no longer trifle with or slight the earth. In both situation what we are calling a curse was imposed or lifted because someone chose to do something.
The Ten Commandments are not like the laws men make which include a range of punishments but are guiding statements warning that there are natural consequences built into creation for doing contrary to what is described in those Ten Laws.
In Genesis 49[7] we see this word ‘arar which includes the letters AlefReishReish (ררא)[8] stating that the sons of Jacob Simeon and Levi are cursed because of their anger which brought them to killing and trespassing against another. This would bring division among themselves. Jacob was not cursing them nor was God. They were cursed because of their hearts and the actions they were led to take by what was deep in their hearts. [9]

Jeremiah 44:8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth? Jeremiah 44:12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach. Jeremiah 44:22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day. Jeremiah 48:10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood. Jeremiah 49:13 For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes. Lamentations 3:65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them. Daniel 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. Zechariah 5:3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it. Zechariah 8:13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. Malachi 1:14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen. Malachi 2:2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Malachi 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth

- ↑ א ALEF Father-Son- begin- The Paradox: God and Man -
- ר REISH Process of Clarification The "head" or "beginning." The REISH or Resh teaches us that each experience or situation has a beginning that we provide by our intent. Our motivation is part of the context of things.
- רר Double Reish: The Alef is the divine connection of God and man and the double Reish or twin Reshs flow from and meet in the compatibility of God’s heart and our own. If there is a conflict of hearts there will be a division or conflict in the spirit producing what we call a curse.
- ↑ Genesis 49:6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
