Abide

The Greek word hupomeno, meaning "to endure" is from two words: "hupo" a preposition and the verb "meno" which is also translated abide, remain, continue, and endure.

The word meno[1] means to remain, not to depart but to continue to be present.

While it can mean abide, it always includes the idea of remaining and enduring. Of the 120 times it appears in the Bible, it is often included in instructions by Jesus and the apostles.
